What an insane turn of events. One play just literally determined the Texas Ohio St game. Just wow. Texas needs a miracle now whis is next to impossible.

Texas lost to a better team.

They were not out-coached, out-hustled or out-schemed.
Agree it was a good game. Only complaint I had was calls on last 4 plays of drive. That said, Quinn probably played one of his better games. Just came up short literally and figuratively. Missed opp but life goes on. My son saw it in person and would have seen nat champ feel more bad for him he will miss that. End of day Texas is back and next year should be fun, bring on Arch!

That was a hard-fought game. Ohio St. is on a mission after that humiliating loss to Michigan. The best thing that happened to them was losing that game. The Ohio St. defense has NFL level talent at almost every position. Sark, however, made no adjustments in the second half. Too cute with the motion and slow developing plays. Ohio St. was getting pressure on those dropback passes but Sark kept dialing them up. Texas will always field competitive teams because of the recruiting talent in that state but never win a national championship with that guy.

Both semi final games were entertaining, that's all you can ask for.

Feel bad for the Texas QB, wasn't his fault on the strip sack; how ironic the player who caused it and scored was his roommate at OSU and one of his best friends, that's the beauty of sports, stories like that.

As a Michigan fan, tough to see tOSU in the championship game, but I have to give them credit for rebounding after the Michigan loss, feel good for their coach, their fans wanted him fired, they should feel like **** for wanting to run the guy out of town on a rail. Also, as a diehard Sooners fan; gee, what a shame Texas lost.............;). Seven national championships vs four too BTW.

A couple of things stood out; that was like a home game for Texas, the crowd had to be 75/25 for sure. Also, those clips of Sark as a BYU QB; holy smokes, he looked like Jim Thorpe all American with that goofy undersized helmet and the way he launched the ball. Lastly, the shot of Harry Fong in the crowd after the strip sack fumble/TD with his head in his hands...............

tOSU should roll on the 20th, we'll see, no dog in the fight either way, just want an entertaining game.

They are playing the National Championship game on Jan. 20. I guess there is nothing else going on that day. LOL.

George. OU still sucks according to Texas Fans. You actually heard that last night after one score. That rivalry is just ingrained. Anyhow I am actually rooting for the ND coach. After watching his interview ls and story this week, I am a fan of him not ND. Hope it will be a good game.

When Texas wins three more national championships, they can talk all they want, right now, they should stay in their lane.

It's nice to live in a fan bases head rent free as a Sooners fan.

Like when Red Sox fans pre 2004 used to chant "Yankees Suck" at RS games, this from a fan base that hadn't won a championship in 86 years, it's idiotic.

Texas fans went home with sad last night, again that stadium looked 75/25 longhorns fans vs buckeyes fans, that's a **** ton of ten gallon hats.

First and goal on the one and Sark doesn't bring in Manning to ram it into the end zone, it's mind boggling.

Then a toss sweep on second down that lost yardage.

But as Doug has said over and over, that's Sark for you.

You live with Sark, you die with him too.

I disagree, it was Ewers at that point to win or lose. If you bring Manning in, they all know where it is going, already fooled them once on that one. I still will take Sark all day long and twice on Sunday over Venables, he is a product of Dumbo Sweeney. I give him 1 more year at OU and they will oust him, that alumni is like OSU, lose to your rival and you are done. He is now 1-2 against Texas and based on what I read, they are in shambles on staff and recruiting, so if 1-3, and another losing record, he is toast which is probably better off for you as a fan.

Ryan Day saved his job thus far at OSU. He is not a great coach, he is a great recruiter and defensive coordinator/scheme and this time his talent and assistant coaches look like they have it together to do it and they have a banged up opponent in ND. Also btw he is 1-5 against Michigan. Even if he wins the national title, if he loses to Michigan again next year, he better repeat the Nat. Championship.

Rivalries still mean something to alumni fan bases who fund the sport. If you don't beat the rivals or at least split with them, money dries up.

As I said previously, I have seen Arch Manning play live and in color, he is the real deal. Winning it all takes a lot of luck and good bounces along with having a great team. Will they do it, who knows, but again, Sark has put them back on the map. 2 Years in a row top 4, hard to beat that in today's portal and playoff brackets. So again, will stick with Sark.

One thing you forgot to mention in your stats is the Red River Rivalry Record - 62-47-5..........................Texas. Prediction for next year - 63-47-5. All in all, I will stick with Hook em.

On another note, my other love, FSU, oh man, the hits keep coming. Recruiting bad, portal bad, Norvell is toast if he makes it to next year. Incredible how the program is in shambles. NIL particularly nailed them. FSU almost needs Deion Sanders to bring back some money, press, etc. Anything of relevance is good at this point. They have lost it. Sad to see as you are never going to consistently win it all every year, but being competitive is very important and they are not across the board of that program. I wonder what it would take to get Nick Sabin out of retirement. FSU should ask Governor DeSantis for that appropriation, they need a game changer there and it is not Norvell, not enough star power.

Factual prediction for the championship game - Ohio State wins 42-20. My hope - ND in a shocker upsets them 27-24.

The whole game has changed with the transfer portal and NIL money and not for the better, the rich will get richer, kids with talent will want to transfer to certain schools and bail on the school that handed them a scholarship, it cheapens the game.

College football is a fun sport to watch mostly due to the students and how the atmosphere is SO much better than the pro game, people who attend certain universities really live and die with the team/school, it's a different fandom vs a pro team.

I've been a Sooners/USC/Michigan/Alabama fan since I was a kid, but I don't live and die with the teams as I did not attend any of those schools, if they win great, if they lose, I'm not going to jump off a bridge.

And tOSU could have known full well what was coming with Manning, but stopping it is a different animal, something few teams have been able to do this year.

What's done is done, tOSU has some great players on every level on defense, they are an elite unit, I still would have liked to see the PSU DE and TE play in one more game, I think PSU would give tOSU a better game than ND can, but we'll see what happens.

Again, no dog in the fight, I just want to see an entertaining game, not a blow out.

Still my favorite sport, but the transfer is not my favorite part. Interesting factoid, the QB for OSU last night is the same guy from Kansas State who for 3 years got pounded by the Longhorns, thanks to the transfer he got the last laugh. It is just a new day and a new game. I don't like the free agency part. I believe that kids should get something in cases where they are marketable and the school makes zillions on them, I don't agree with lawless free agency and contracts that are worth $6M a year at that level.

Look at the Penn ST. QB, I forget what his NIL is, but it is millions, I mean millions. After his play the other night........................WTF. Someone has to ask that question. It was awful and he is not worth 5 cents if that is where his skills are. (Maybe the Steelers will draft him, he will fit right in with their latest picks................)

BTW - I hope you know that only razzing you on the OU thing. We got to be able to have fun with rivalries! I have to admit, I grew up in the FSU hate Miami, hate Florida rivalry, the Michigan hate OSU one, but really didn't know OU Texas until my son went there. Of course have a lot of family there, but he is the first Longhorn. OMG, it is intense, and I am sure it is the same way on the OU side. But it is bitter, really bitter, but in a way I find it fun, makes the game mean more and something to look forward to as a fan.

I was watching ESPN the other day and they mentioned that because ND is not part of a conference, that they get to keep the entire $14 million or so from participating in the college football playoff. All the other teams have to divide the pot with their conference. Ohio St. and Oregon (team Nike) are paying a ton in NIL money to their players. It's a crazy system.

It's all good, your son attended the school, so naturally you've got a dog in the fight and want to see Texas win.

I fell in love with the Sooners watching them as a kid in the Orange bowl running the option offense, I just thought it was cool the way it worked.

In college a friend of mine was a huge Sooners fan, we went to a game as college students at OU, walking into that packed stadium was something, then when we heard "Boomer Sooner", it was a religious experience................it's fun to root for certain teams for me, but I don't lose sleep if any of them lose, it's mindless entertainment at the end of the day.

A new drinking game really sums up the state of minor league, aka college football:

Every time an announcer says “transfer”, “portal” or “ NIL” you take a shot. Chances are you will be passed out half way through the first half.

Every time an announcer says “major”, “G.P.A.” or scholarship you take a drink. You will be completely sober at the end of the game.

I'm going with Ohio St. 31 ND 20 as the final predict. ND will not be able to move the ball against the OSU defense. ND's D will eventually tire and give up a couple of big plays that make the difference.
