How many created the big 10? College football is a different world but certain conferences have always had more depth than others. I wish Texas was still in the big 12 but not meant to be in today’s world. That said I would certainly argue the Sec has always been one of the most talented; records and bowl post season history back that up.How many conferences merged to create the current SEC Tom; two? Three? I've lost count; sure, super talented conference when you have 900 teams in it.
Not sure I'm following any of this, I never said the SEC was not a talented conference.How many created the big 10? my comment was due to the "tomato can", I really don't think there are any in the SEC any given week. I think any home game in the SEC is a recipe for a loss to the visiting team no matter what the records are of each team.Not sure I'm following any of this, I never said the SEC was not a talented conference.
Yeah great, teams like Kentucky and Mississippi State are no pushovers then.my comment was due to the "tomato can", I really don't think there are any in the SEC any given week. I think any home game in the SEC is a recipe for a loss to the visiting team no matter what the records are of each team.
You call them tomato cans yet they play every team pretty much tough at home. Ole Miss who is arguably one of the best teams out there had a heckuva a time beating OK at home. Texas destroyed OK in all facets of the game, is Oklahoma a tomato can? I guess so by your logic.Yeah great, teams like Kentucky and Mississippi State are no pushovers then.
Mother of God.
Tell you what; if you knock of the current #3, #5 and #10 ranked teams and get into the playoff, I'll be impressed, how's tha

Agreed but attending class is not enough to simply show up on test days and get an A.I'm pretty sure he's at all the practices.
No, I do not.Bottom line is I get it you don't like Manning and you don't like Texas.
How do you define success? Making $6.8M as a college junior is a financial success by most standards.Agreed but attending class is not enough to simply show up on test days and get an A.
It is what you do outside of class/practice that sets you up for success in college and beyond.
They were ranked preseason #1 and are beating also rans in OT to keep their march to the playoffs alive, more like a Bataan Death March or retreat from Moscow. If they deserve that ranking, they should be steamrolling teams like Kentucky and Mississippi State, not OT wins, one of which was due to a coach on the other sideline who was brain dead, the other after playing like boiled ass for three quarters and then getting every break known to man in the 4th quarter to force OT.
"...due to a coach on the other sideline who was brain dead..." You should hear what they're saying here.![]()
Just to answer your insult on Sark, what is his record against Venables and OU? ........yup all day everyday and twice on Sunday, I am taking Gomer Pyle, the stooge. Maybe Venables can get a gig in the next remake of Tron.No, I do not.
Or their Gomer Pyle stooge of a coach.
I think you are way overestimating how I feel about Texas; I don't like them, at one point I actually did when Earl Campbell was a longhorn, but that faded quickly, but I don't have this burning hatred for the team, unlike you who has this rager over the Sooners............Texas "destroyed" OU in every facet of the game? We must have watched two different games, they won, but destroyed is rich.

I didn't watch the game, that from a friend of mine who's a UT alum/actually played on the team, he has been down on the team all year and does not view things through Longhorn orange colored glasses.
The Manning family cost the Patriots no less than 4 Super Bowl wins, 2 each for both stooge brother.
Watch their hayseed nephew land in the AFC East and torture the Patriots for a decade or so.
Bound to happen.
All day everyday and twice on Sunday huh; you forgot about this one;Just to answer your insult on Sark, what is his record against Venables and OU? ........yup all day everyday and twice on Sunday, I am taking Gomer Pyle, the stooge. Maybe Venables can get a gig in the next remake of Tron.
Sark sued USC after they fired him for coaching while drunk. He claimed it was a disability. You can't make that up. He is a piece of work. I also love how the commentators praise him as an offensive genius even while his team is getting shutout. With that said, when Texas and Oklahoma play, I hope both teams lose.All day everyday and twice on Sunday huh; you forgot about this one;
The October 7, 2023 game, the last meeting for both schools as Big 12 members, featured the first undefeated matchup in the rivalry since 2011. In the game, 12th-ranked Oklahoma defeated 3rd-ranked Texas 34–30 on a last-second touchdown pass to Nic Anderson. The game recorded 7.8 million viewers, the most since 2009, and was attended by SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey as both schools are set to join the SEC starting in 2024.
Venables beat Gomer Pyle in that game just in case you forgot.
So Arch is concussed then? Don't worry, Sark's got this "The team believes in him"...........ie, the back up.
What a leader of men, I can see why you love the guy.
Texas was ranked preseason #1, then tumbled out of the top 25; show me a team that had a fall that bad, from #1 to completely out of the top 25.Sark sued USC after they fired him for coaching while drunk. You really crack me up, he won one time and only one time. SO yeah, I take Sark over the robot. Pretty easy choice.All day everyday and twice on Sunday huh; you forgot about this one;

Ironically, yes it has - Oklahoma in 1959 fell out of the rankings after starting at #1. Again facts don't lie. And as of right now, Texas is in the top 25, again, it is all about wins. If they keep on winning, they stay in, pretty simple concept.Texas was ranked preseason #1, then tumbled out of the top 25; show me a team that had a fall that bad, from #1 to completely out of the top 25.
I don't ever recall that happening.
As in ever.
Doug, as I have said before, Sark is not a personal favorite, if he wins at Texas fine, but if they do a complete nosedive, then I have no sympathy. In today's world, unfortunately none of them seem to be angels, sad as that is.Sark sued USC after they fired him for coaching while drunk. He claimed it was a disability. You can't make that up.
