Very nice! Like the tie in with the figures too.
Okay, I just couldn't hold out any longer. After all Lt's great shots I took the ZW plunge with a KR set I found recently. Hopefully it is just the start.
Thanks guys, hooked indeed. Even my wife liked it; allthough her comment was, "I don't suppose these will multiply now like those Greeks"
Just as long as the little fellas do not get behind you! Sorry....
I will go drink my espresso now.
Please let me know, if the William Britains matte figures can agree with this Conte soldiers?
Here's the old Conte Bromhead and Chard (Caine and Baker) compared to two new Britains 24th matte. Did I say I own MATTE? Yes I do, Oz! In comparison, WB comes out on top with claener lines and paint, IMNSHO.

Of course the comparision is helpful for size but not for paint and detail. As the Lt notes, the new Conte ZW figures appear to be of a different quality completely. Here's the old Conte Bromhead and Chard (Caine and Baker) compared to two new Britains 24th matte. I am not by any means an expert on this but I can tell you what I have determined. Conte produced two Keith Rocco Zulu sets and a Collectors Club release of some "Heroes of the Drift" in metal. These appear to have been done in small numbers and they are quite difficult to find. I have one of the KR sets and the figures are very nice. However, from the photos, the annouced upcoming Conte Zulu War figures are a cut (or more) above what they have done before and may be the best versions done by anyone to date. We will have to wait and see.… thus , there was a first series of 24th foot in metal?
