New Releases for April 2018 - The Second World War (2 Viewers)

Those two Jag crewman look great so i'll grab them for sure. The two corsairs also look awesome so I may have to take the plunge and buy both as well!

Tom

Tom,

I was thinking of one Corsair but if a certain person has ordered enough two looks to be the way to go.

Agree the Jagdpanther crew is brilliant and certain unusual poses

Mark

John has certainly hit a GRAND SLAM with the two Corsairs and the crew sets.

Two planes will be touching down in Maine in the near future.

The Corsair is something I have to splurge on, especially Roger's plane! Just too cool! The coloring John does for his figures and planes is second to none in my opinion, just honestly hits it on the head head every single time! Congrats John on excellent releases and pieces!

Robo!

Although I can refer to this thread ... I hope that John includes some instructions on the "safest" assembly techniques for the planes. Granted, 14 parts is not that much to handel and it appears to be simple ... but that is what frightens me. {sm2}

Who ever gets the first one .. they must post the effort it took to put these beauties together. {sm4}

Hey Mr Umbrella Man, play a song for me. I am not sleepy and there is no place I'm going to. This just keeps ringing in my head though it should be Tambourine Man....

For those who want a closer look at the canopy of the Corsair, it is clear and nice. So, for those in on this, are you buying 1 or both?

My order placed with local TS dealer for both just couldn't see sense in not getting the pair they just look better just like his Australian Spitfires.

Thanks for the pic's Chris, the detail and quality of these warbirds reinforced my decision in ordering them and just like Mark, getting both was a no brainer as they look awesome together just like my JJD RAAF Spit's.

And pilots to come as well as additional crew

I pre-ordered both the day the dispatches came out . . . .

John, Seeing that you've mastered the wing shape and ability to ship a plane as complicated as a Corsair, Please revisit and release the WWII Stuka. - Ken

This Corsair looks great. I wish I could afford all the deck crewmen and handlers.
what I really hope we see is of course a pilot figure, but even better, the pilot is looking out the cockpit and at
a crewman who waves the pilot off by pointing down the deck, as he ducks under the wing. very dramatic. another action on deck would be another crewman motioning with his hand to start engines by rotating hand and upraised finger (frozen in time of course) for the sign to start the engine. so many very dramatic scenes can be built.

Good evening Medic,
Wonderful figure suggestions, indeed.
I am in the same boat in hoping the deck crew stay available long enough to pick them up.
With so many great releases coming out of the factories these days, staying up to date is a tough task.

However, if John did those figures they would be a MUST HAVE.. {sm4}

For the crewman who waves the pilot off by pointing down the deck, as he ducks under the wing and the crewman motioning with his hand to start engines by rotating hand and upraised finger ... check out the K&C USN figure .. USN021.

Although I do not have the JJD BH deck crews yet, maybe these might fit the bill for a while; compatibility issues aside.:rolleyes2:

I will definitely be getting one of the Corsairs. With the carrier bases, it made it a must have for me. I have been curious about J.J. There was just no range that they had that interested me. But this definitely changes things looking forward in getting this, plus the bases. Definitely will be getting the pilot as soon as it comes out. I will get at least the LSO plus a couple of the deck crew. I am really excited with this offerings..
And the functionality of the choices, that you can do with the wings, is incredible. I am glad I did not get the KC piece..

Sounds like you may have missed the promo-pic that included some unpainted, prototype figs of pilots:

As far as a “shooter,” I’m relatively certain that Jenkins is working on one of those as well. Beyond that, don’t be surprised if some hardware isn’t developed to flesh the display out and bring things to life.

I wish I could afford both.. But then again with the plane, and the rest of the miniatures that flight deck will be pretty filled up.. But I also know that in the future I will be kicking myself for not getting both... Decisions.. Decisions...

I for one am really glad that I decided to put everything I collect on hold and concentrate on just collecting John's IWA and BH ranges. The BH range is really starting to develop beautifully and I expect it to continue to expand with more dynamic deck crew poses, pilots, and deck assist equipment. I have six deck plates which will give me plenty of room for now to arrange a nice display for both Corsairs. I am hoping that John develops a USS Bunker Hill assigned Hell Diver (VB-84) and an Avenger (VT-84) to compliment the VF-84 Corsair. It just keeps getting better and better . . . .

:smile2: Mike

If they do both planes, that will put me beyond totally aboard/ strictly buying JJD WWII airplane pieces...I Hope they do the Hell Diver first....
