I would wholeheartedly agree with you about the Texans...Peyton if he is truely healthy would put them over the top...Texans RB Arian Foster & Ben Tate make a fantastic RB dou , & give Peyton , Andre Johnson @ WR...That Offense could WOW the AFC...

Joe

The Texans don't need a QB, they are all set there.

They are my pick next year to get to and win the Super Bowl with who they have now once he's back and healthy.

They gave the Ravens all they could handle with some ham and egger as the QB.

The Ravens should have beaten the Patriots if Lee Evans holds onto the ball; they would have beaten the Giants too.

With ease.

Texas is a perfect place for him. Their QB position is not all that settled as Schaub is coming off an injury. Second, he has a year left on his contract and third, if they cut him, they would take a small salary cap hit.

The Texans are one good QB from winning it all.

Warrior ,

I agree the Texans are a safe pick as far as possible AFC representatives for the Super Bowl , i love Arian Foster & Ben Tate there may not be a better RB dou in the NFL as far as i am concerned...I know alot of also has to be credited to the Line & blocking scheme , but Foster is all purpose indeed...
Where i disagree with you is about Schaub , he imo is too injury prone & has bouts of inconsitencey...
Peyton Manning if healthy makes them a shoe in...

Joe,
You hit the nail on the head; IF he is healthy............necks/discs specifically are a risky situation, he's one hit away from calling it a career, I am not sure if I were a GM in the NFL I'd want to take that risk...............

It's a BIG RISK indeed...I am no doctor , i didn't think he was going to play again...But if he can , & if he can play anywhere near 90 % of what he used to...The Texans would be unbeatable...

According to a client of mine who is an orthopedic surgeon, many NFL players have had similar fusion surgeries and returned to play in the NFL, including linebackers who are involved in violent hits on virtually every play. The risk isn't so much the fusion surgery, which ends up stronger, but less flexible, than the original structure of vertebrae and intervertebral discs, but whether the nerve will regenerate and Peyton will ever return to full strength. From what I can see from that U-tube video, it is regenerating and his strength is coming back. Assuming it does come back, if you are the Texans GM, you know Schaub is coming off an injury, may not be ready to start the season, is injury prone and has never led the team to a winning record in his career, you would be nuts not to sign Manning. If the Texans team had Peyton Manning last season, they would have annihilated the Ravens, the Patriots and the Giants and won the Superbowl.

Louis ,

If that is the case about him regaining his strength , there are only so many players in the NFL that are as big a difference maker as he is...I look forward to seeing him play again...I also agree with you about Schaub & the fact the Texans would have undoubtly been the favorites to win the Super Bowl last year...

Redskins have made the deal with the Rams to get the #2 pick in this years draft. Obviously, that means they will pick the Heisman winner out of the Baylor, thus giving them a viable Qb for the coming season, (hopefully), and for many seasons thereafter. This is also their way of admitting that they had no realistic chance of getting Manning to come to DC. I think the deal was for the Redskins 1st and 2nd round picks this year, and their 1st picks in each of the next 3 years. I hope this deal works out better than Gary Beban or Heath Schuler deals.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Want to talk crazy? The Redskins just traded 3 first round picks and a second round pick to move up from #6 to #2 to draft RG III.:rolleyes2:

I hope he can catch and block as well as pass, because without 1st round draft picks for the next couple of years, he'll need to.

I think it's a great deal for the Skins. They're building for the future and this guy is an incredible talent. He'll make the Skins relevant again. In five years, they will be THE team in the NFC east.

Actually, if I had been the Rams, I would have kept the pick and traded Bradford. However, obviously Griffin was worth more.

Brad, there are a whole lot of people down here that echo your sentiments and are praying that it becomes so.:wink2:^&grin -- Al

The Giants parted ways with Brandon Jacobs, after the sides couldn't come to an agreement on restructuring his contract with a pay cut. Early in his career (2007 and 2008) he was a real beast, especially when teamed with Ahmad Bradshaw and Derrick Ward as "Earth, Wind and Fire". Since his knee injury in 2009 (and his big contract), with the exception of a few games down the stretch and in the playoffs this year, he just hasn't run with the same intensity. He won two rings as a Giant, and will be remembered fondly by Giants fans for some of his runs in the 2007 playoffs (when he abused Green Bay's defensive backs in the NFC Championship Game), but it really was time for him to go.

Trent Richardson, rhe Alabama star running back, is projected to be a late first round or early second round pick. If the Giants can resign Osi, and obtain a tackle and pass catching tight end via free agency, he would be a logical first round pick for them.

Right now, they're saying Manning's throwing at 80% with his main issue being accuracy. Much as I'd love to see him wearing a Texans jersey, I doubt it will happen. Schaub is a very solid QB who continues to improve and IMO the Texans WOULD be nuts to sign Manning; a guy who may or may not return to full strength and will require an enormous salary to boot. I personally see him going either to the Titans or Miami or MAYBE the 49ers if they finally decide to drop Smith; I just don't think he would be a good fit in Arizona or Denver, especially considering how the Broncos organization has repeatedly shown no respect for the talented Tebow.

In any case, it should be interesting to watch.

The Raiders cut former Giant tightend Kevin Boss, so the Giants tightend injury problems may be solved. If the Giants re-sign the Big Boss Man, whom the Raiders grabbed in free agency last offseason, Eli will have a familiar and comfortable target at Tightend.

This would enable them to focus in the draft on offensive linemen and a power running back to replace Jacobs.

I suppose he's better than nothing but his stats are down, somewhat, from 2010. Also, his stats aren't as good as Ballard's (38 vs 28 catches and 604 yds vs 368 yds) but I guess there aren't that many choices out there.

Unfortunately, Ballard is out for at least the first 8 games next season with a torn ACL, so we have to find a replacement. Another unrestricted free agent tight-end is Dallas Clarke from the Colts, but chances are he is waiting to sign where Peyton signs, plus, he would probably cost more to sign.

I understand Ballard is out, just that Boss didn't have a great year in comparison. If Clark was available, take him for sure.

Without a doubt I would take Clark over Boss or Ballard, I just don't think he is likely to sign anywhere other than where Peyton signs.

The Giants signed a blocking tightend, Cowboys second tightend Martellus Bennet. He is presumably intended to be a second tightend on the Giants, hopefully behind Kevin Boss or Dallas Clarke.

The Giants also re-signed their best cornerback, Terrell Thomas, who missed the entirety of last season with a knee injury.

Hoping to hear about the Giants signing a quality offensive lineman in free agency, as I think they will address their running back need via the draft.

Sounds like Peyton may be heading to Denver. I'm a bit surprised. Thought he was TN bound. Lots of ties to that area. Tebow can't be pleased.
