Sounds like Peyton may be heading to Denver. I'm a bit surprised. Thought he was TN bound. Lots of ties to that area. Tebow can't be pleased.

Fans of every NFC team should be breathing a sigh of relief that he didn't sign with the 49ers. I read on the NFL website that the Broncos are now looking to trade Tebow.

Manning to the Broncos is a bit of a shocker. I thought he would go to the 49er's. I guess Elway just couldn't see his way through to trust Tebow. Elway never did like Tebow. Oh well, I hope Denver has a Plan B in case Manning breaks down or if he can't go more than another 2 or so years. -- Al

Likley the best thing that could happen to Tebow. They certainly had no confidence in him at the coaching and management level. Maybe rightly so, but I wouldn't want to play there under those circumstances.

Wow...this is strong...but I have no problems with it...there's no place for this in any sport...

New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton has been suspended for one year and the Saints will lose their second round pick in 2012 and '13 and pay $500,000 as a result of the NFL's bounty investigation, the league announced Wednesday.

Former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, who orchestrated the program, has been suspended indefinitely. Team general manager Mickey Loomis also faces an eight-game suspension and a $500,000 fine.

The league found that the cash pool reached $50,000 or more during the 2009 playoffs, and players were paid $1,500 for a "knockout" and $1,000 for a "cart-off" with payouts doubling or tripling during the playoffs. Money was provided primarily by players.

All such payments violate league rules for non-contract bonuses.

Williams administered the program, and the NFL says Saints coach Sean Payton was not a direct participant, yet was aware of the allegations and "failed to stop the bounty program."

Payton and Loomis took "full responsibility" for the violations in a joint statement issued days after the findings, and later met with league commissioner Roger Goodell in New York to discuss the issue.

The pair apologized for the "unique hardship" on team owner Tom Benson, recognized the severity of the violations, and promised that they "will never happen again."

Williams, who left the Saints this offseason to become defensive coordinator for the St. Louis Rams, apologized for his program, which he reportedly also implemented in several other NFL cities. Commissioner Goodell will review Williams' status at the conclusion of the 2012 season and consider whether to reinstate him.

"I have learned a hard lesson and I guarantee that I will never participate in or allow this kind of activity to happen again," Williams said.

Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma became the player face of the program following an SI.com report describing his $10,000 offer to any player who could knock Brett Favre out of the 2009 NFC Championship Game.

Tebow is now a Jet. It's hard to know what to say about this move, other than it's just PR.

Brad,
you have my condolences as if the Jets were not a circus before, Tebowmania will certainly attempt to make it one.

Interesting combo. Sanchez is the primary guy and Tebow is the short yardage/wildcat QB. It could either give other teams fits or be a total disaster.

There is only one way Tebow to the Jets can work: Sanchez as the QB, Tebow as the Running Back. Both in the backfield simultaneously on every offensive play. Direct snaps to Tebow on option plays, the rest of the snaps to Sanchez to pass or hand off to Tebow, who has to carry the load as the running back, but can also throw halfback passes. Frankly, with LT gone, and Greene having played sub par since his rookie season, Tebow might actually be their best runner.

Anything else will end up an absolute disaster. If you keep Tebow on the sidelines as a backup, the fans will be chanting for him every time Sanchez throws a pick. If you bring him in on wildcat packages, and put Sanchez on the sideline, the defense will know the option is coming and play accordingly. Sanchez's confidence will be at an all time low with Tebow waiting in the wings.

By the way, that was some penalty handed down to the Saints!{eek3} Peyton is suspended a year, Gregg Williams is suspended indefinitely, but for at least a year, the GM Mickey Loomis and the assistant head coach each suspended 8 games, forfeiting the next two second round picks and a fine. The explanation for the severity of the penalty on the NFL network is that the nailed both Peyton and the head coach lying to the commissioner about (1) knowledge of the bounty program and (2) that the program was stopped once the NFL confronted them in 2009.

The whole thing is a disaster; it just won't work. I'm a closet Bears fan so now I can root for the Bears whole hog ^&cool

Louis, I hope the heck you're right^&confuse. I've been a Jet fan since 1967, and I've become used to 2 types of years since THE GAME; the either "frustratingly ALMOST JETS":( or the "completely miserable SAME OLD JETS".:redface2::mad: And neither one is satisfying. I hope this isn't another in a long line of Hail Mary personnel decisions that will only lead to player and fan discontent. They need a considerable amount of fixing on O'line, D'Back and elsewhere. The one thing they don't need is a mess in the Locker Room. And so help me Louis, if this doesn't help this team, i will finally cross the field and come over to hang my hat in the Giants locker room. And that's sayin' something for me, who's been a quiet but ardent Jets fan all these years.:tongue::rolleyes2:{eek3}{sm2}

Well, blow the whistle, and let the games begin!!!!!!

A friend of mine called me today with the news "Tebow is a Jet"........

So I looked at the calendar; ok, it's not April 1st, so there goes that theory.

Can just see the headlines now;

"The Savior vs the Sanchize"

"TIMSANITY!!!..........(although Lin is a better passer)...

So is Tebow going to sit down with Cromartie and talk shop with him regarding his 14 kids?

What an idiotic, boneheaded move; can just see Jets fans booing Sanchez off the field after his first incomplete pass.

Losing the Super Bowl was a kick in the chops, but this offseason so far has more than made up for it.

There is not one positive thing I can see coming from this for the Jets.

Put a tent around that circus in New Jersey.

Apparently the trade has hit a snag. One can only hope. Under Tebow's contract with Denver, if he is traded advances made to Tebow have to be repaid and the Broncos expect that to be repaid. It helps when you read the contract. What a bunch of idiots.

I would personally like to thank the Jets for making the Vikings look like a well respected, smoothly run team...

You just can't make this stuff up. Jets are trying to backtrack but Broncos insist they have a deal. Incredible.

Joe,

It looks like the deal may not go down. From what they are saying on the NFL network, while the Jets "tweeted" that the trade was made, they had not yet filed papers with the league when a league source informed them of a clause in Tebow's contract which required the trading team to repay 5.6 million dollars of Tebow's contract if Tebow is traded. As incredible as it sounds, the Jets front office didn't bother to read the contract (which had scared off the Jaguars and the Dolphins) and are only able to back out of the deal because they had not yet filed for league approval.

If it does go down, and Tebow is the disaster for the Jets I expect it to be, we will welcome you to Giants camp with open arms.

Lived in NY my whole life. Tebow is only half of the answer to the Jets winning a Super Bowl. I think the next step is to call the Vatican and sign the Pope. Maybe he can split time with the Mets as well!

So the deal was finalized and Tebow is a Jet. Boy would I like to be a fly on the wall in that locker room. Tebow, Sanchez, Santonio Holmes, Cromartie, and Rex Ryan - a no ring circus.

Louis,

Thanks but beware, you just might find a blubbering mess on your doorstep in October, maybe September if it's that bad, with a shredded Jets hat in hand.
