Joe,

Part of being a fan is sticking with your team through the good and the bad. That builds character. Right now, this probably qualifies more towards the bad. You were born with the green, not the blue. Stick with it. Don't go over to the enemy, or at least switch to another non NY team.

Brad

Louis,

Thanks but beware, you just might find a blubbering mess on your doorstep in October, maybe September if it's that bad, with a shredded Jets hat in hand.

Joe

I little Irish Whiskey and a nice new Giants Super Bowl XLVI hat (I always buy a couple of extra :wink2:) will square you away in no time.^&grin

I'm laughing hysterically at both comments.{sm4}{sm4}{sm4} Brad, I know exactly what you mean, and believe me I'm a very loyal type, but man I didn't sign up to be a Cubs Fan:tongue::redface2:{eek3} - complete apologies to the offended.:redface2: And truth be told, I have secretly and jealously rooted against the Giants during their runs in 86, 90 and 07 while my family were big fans of Blue

But Louis, this year, when the Jets collapsed, I allowed myself some Blue fever, mainly because of how they were doing it. They were focused, determined, resilient, and most of all, ALL IN as a TEAM. That's something the JETS have been lacking. So, for the first time since the early 60's, I allowed myself to enjoy the "GINTS". They have a lot to be proud of in overcoming a slew injuries over the season, and being the underdog throughout the playoffs. My Jets' hat's off to them.:salute::

As far as jumping ship, I actually tend to doubt it, but I can at least now also appreciate and root for BIG BLUE.

Bring on the Rookie Selections.

Joe

Joe,
Listen to Brad and stick with your team, don't be a fraud and become a Giants fan, think of how thrilled you be when the Jets win the Super Bowl, all of the ups and downs will have been worth it.

Plus if you become a Giants fan, you'll hate yourself in the morning...................

Heck, George, sometimes I hate myself in the morning being a Jets fan. One of the things about me is that I'm an AFC fan. As a 13 year old in 59, the NFL's 3 yards and a cloud of dust got boring for me. So, at that time when the AFL was created, with big armed QBs, and gazele WRs, I jumped and never looked back. Of course that's all balanced out now, but old habits die young. And it's also why, CLOSE YOUR EYES LOUIS, I rooted for NE in 07. How about those apples? Just don't ask me to root for your boys during the season. JETS vs PATS is WAR.

Oh, by the way, at some point down the road, I'll discuss a Hougomout south gate with you. No room to put it anywhere now, but next year when I move to Delaware I'll arrange that with you.

My best

Joe

The mid morning sports talk show up here in Boston played bits and pieces of a dialog between Joe Benigno and that pantload Giants ballwasher Francesa regarding the Jets trading for Tebow, Francesa was having a field day with it, felt bad for Joe, he seems like such a nice guy, a real fan of the Jets, not some fraud like Francesa.

I'm really starting to feel bad for Jets fans and I'm not sure what is worse, having to listen to Patriots fans or having to listen to the 9-7 Super Bowl Champion Giants fans...........talk about pick your poison.

Joe,

Are you a Yankee or Mets fan. Answer carefully, very carefully. Do you bleed the blue and orange? I see you as a closet Brooklyn Dodger fan.

Joe,
At some point, you will be rewarded for being a fan; if anyone can speak to that, it's me as a Red Sox fan, 86 years of buffoonery were finally rewarded in 2004, going through the Yankees was the icing on the cake, then I got another reward in 2007.

The Jets will win a Super Bowl at some point, the league is set up for it; if 9-7 teams can win the Super Bowl, anything is possible................

Jazz, spot on - Brooklyn fan - right there when they won in 55 - broke my heart when they left. Basically gravitated to Yankees, but kind of support both. But don't forget I'm a LAX guy. We paraphrase the Mother's Against Drunk Driving phrase - "Friends Don't Let Friends Play Baseball.":smile2:{eek3}:rolleyes::cool:{sm4}

Warrior, you are absolutely right, patience is rewarded. Or I will probably become a patient - nutty ward!!!!!!:smile2::rolleyes:{sm2}

Joe,

If you became a Yankee fan, as opposed to a Mets fan, then you probably belong with the Giants.

No...the Vikings cannot win the Super Bowl. We can have amazing seasons, but we can't win the Super bowl. We have the curse of the...uh...

Heck, we can barely get our draft picks in on time!

Jazz, if the Jets continue their irritating ways then that could come to fruition, but as far as the National Pastime; with all the LAX that I coach, I leave baseball for the fall when it gets exciting. And at that point, I'll root for either.

Peter, no disrespect, especially coming from a Jets fan, but heck, the Vikings can barely keep their roof on.:rolleyes2::redface2:{eek3}^&grin{sm4} I empathize in misery with you.

Yeah, well the Jets are pretty irritating right now. So, watch out for

GO BEARS!

C'mon baseball is a full time hobby, that's what makes it so great.

Tuna to the Saints? This is a very interesting possibility. Depending on the extent of the player suspensions, the Saints could remain a serious super bowl contender with Parcells as the interim head coach, Spagnuolo as the new defesive coordinator, and the best offense in the league behind Brees and Sproles. If they got home field advantage, it would be all they through the Super Bowl, as it is in New Orleans this year. Watch out NFC.

I know that it is very easy for us to throw around the term "top 5 quarterbacks of all time" or "top ten quarterbacks of all time" when we are talking about quarterbacks we have seen play in our lifetime, but I have to jump Otto Graham to the top of the list. The man played quarterback for the Cleveland Browns for 10 seasons from 1946 through 1955, played in ten straight championship games, and won 7 titles (three American Football league, 4 NFL). Move over Bart Starr, Johnny Unitas and Joe Montana, Mr. Graham takes the top spot on my list. Ten straight championship games, with 7 titles in 10 years. Unbelievable.^&cool^&cool

We longtime (read: old) fans of the Redskins are well aquainted with Otto Graham. He was head coach of the Redskins from 1966-1968, recording a 17-22-3 mark over those 3 seasons. As my uncle said, he was a fantastic quarterback, a real nice person, but he was less than brilliant as a head coach. He resigned so Lombardi could come on as head coach. His run with Cleveland is unequaled. -- Al

Nothing like that ever seems to work. I think the Saints are sunk this year. They were beat last year by a 49ers team with a lousy QB. I can't see them improving on that given what has happened. But stranger things have happened.
