Nfl 2014 (2 Viewers)

The Redskins have been completely dysfunctional for almost all of Snyder's reign. It is a disgrace, and a puzzle. Snyder loves his team but he is incapable of standing back and letting real football people run it. He meddles and meddles. Too bad. The franchise has little, if any, chance of returning to it's glory years while Snyder owns/runs it. Unless he can learn to butt-out, the best thing he can do for Redskins football is to sell the team. And he won't butt-out. -- Al

One of my friends in DC refers to him as Triple J, Jerry Jones Jr.

if you take the time to watch this...

give me your opinion if it was offensive or defensive pass interference...

I thought Beckham (NYG) hooked Carr's (Dallas) arm...and twisted him down...

the ref called defensive pass interference...

how do you see it?

Mike, The more that you look at it, The more it looks like Carr got pushed down during the play !

Wayne...

I'm glad you said that...

sometimes I wonder if my bias for the Cowboys makes me cheat at solitaire...

I saw it your way...but the ref called defensive...

anyway...

UNREAL FANTASTIC UNBELIEVABLE CATCH!!!

Alright Butch, time for the grudge match between my Ravens and your Saints!!! if the Ravens can pull out a much needed win on the road we're still in the fight for the AFC North, lose and it's a lonnnng way to the top, going to be a tough one as the Saints are good at home and Mon. nite, should be a great game...Sammy

Did anybody see the "CHEAP" hit that Dominic Raiola tried to lay on the Pats Zach Moore's knees at the "END" of the game???{eek3}

I haven't seen any comment from the league office yet, but how can that go unpunished?

Big cry baby said that the Pats were running up the score.

Bill B's comment was priceless saying .... "Well, sure there was a lot of frustration there with Raiola,” Belichick said, via Tom Curran of CSNNE.com. “He’s never beaten us. Tough day for him.”

WOW ... what a great torching!

The NFL has announced no fine will be levied on the player for the cut block.

Larry...

he even admitted it was a cut block...

which is illegal and fineable...

Exactly, Mike!
So here we have the NFL with dozens of players beating up wife's, dirl friends, DUI, drugs, Domestic Abuse on Children, murder and so much more and they announce a program to stop this. Even run ads on TV.

Then this Idjut (Yes, I spelled it that way) commits a violent act, admits it and NOTHING happens????

All I can say is .... James Caan (Rollerball!) .... Jonathon, Jonathon, Jonathon .....

Let's see who understands the reference.

I could easily be wrong, but if already engaged with another player a cut block is illegal. However if not already engaged, the cut block is legal, but often frond upon regardless.

You are correct; a cut block is illegal if one player is engaged and a second cuts the player engaged in the block.

Otherwise, it's legal.

I am probably one of the "least" knowledgeable persons on this forum, but from a Football site ....

Cut blocks are legal mainly in the open field. This allows the defensive player an opportunity to avoid or hurdle the block.

The main area in which a cut block is not legal is in the trenches. The trenches are considered the area where offensive and defensive linemen square off against one another at the line of scrimmage.

To me ...:p ... this was a blatant attempt at injuring an defenseless player. I guess when the offensive team says, "We are taking a knee the defensive players ease up and don't expect an aggressive move, especially against a football player most dangerous joint ... the knees.

legal or not...

it's a cheap shot that he admitted to...

no place for this in any sport...

Yeah, that was a great catch, I've only seen it 4,678 times today.

And each time they show it, it's OPI, he hooks the arm and throws him down, thought when the flags flew, it would be OPI.

Then I remembered it's the Giant's so it's DPI.

And those gloves are 100% illegal, the NFL needs to check them, but they won't.

Because again, it's the Giants.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that saw it that way...

expand on the gloves...

what are they...

Remember the great Lester Hayes, cornerback for the Oakland Raiders, he had 22 pounds of stick um smeared all over his uniform, gave him an unfair advantage.

The league promptly banned it.

Those gloves are like having stick um on your hands, the material they are made out of specifically.

Who won the game by the way?

Yeah, just what I thought.

I did not know this.........................................

The NFL commissioner's job is hard. You have to train all year, hope to make a team because your contract isn't guaranteed, all to hopefully avoid concussions and any other major injuries slamming into super-sized human beings on Sundays.

Wait, wait. Players have that job. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell just sits in a nice New York office most days.

And here's the problem. The highest annual average salary in history is Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers at $22 million. Goodell doubled that in a 12-month period ending on March 31 of last year.

Yes, Goodell doubled the highest salary in league history, making more than FORTY FOUR MILLION DOLLARS.

Goodell makes that ($44.2 million in total compensation, to be exact) even though the players he is looking over play the most dangerous major sport there is and many are getting paid just a fraction of the commissioner's salary – and even less if they get a hefty fine for a hit the league deems illegal, or wearing their socks too low.

Sports Business Journal had the story on Goodell's haul. He made a $3.5 million salary and a $40.36 million bonus (!). Of that bonus, $5 million was earned the previous year. The league told SBJ that $9.1 million of that pay came from a deferred bonus and pension from the 2011 lockout period, and his "true pay" is only about $35 million. Again, Aaron Rodgers is the richest player ever at $22 million per year.

Goodell makes far more than any other commissioner, SBJ says. MLB commissioner Bud Selig's salary is unknown, but reports have it between $22 million to beyond $30 million.

Deadspin pointed out that Goodell's salary is increasing dramatically, from $11.6 million in the period ending in March of 2011, to $29.5 million the year after that to north of $44 million last year. And the NFL players had to get locked out and take a league-friendly deal just to get back to work in 2011.

Goodell, some might argue, does a good job. And, although not physically demanding, his job is not easy. At very least he has been at the head of the NFL as it continues to grow to unprecedented levels of popularity and prosperity. That argument probably won't sit well with the former player who is suffering from CTE issues, but at least it's an explanation.

Yeah, just what I thought.

I think we can all blame George Brett for that with the "pine tar" incident...^&grin

Good start for the Ravens. Stuff the Saints on the goal line and then go 97 yards for 6. -- Al

No, he does not.

He's horrible; Spygate, Bountygate, the Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson fiasco's all happened on his watch and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

He's a terrible commissioner.
