I kind of like it Al...

it reminds me of Air Coryell...or Dan Marino and the Marks brother's combination...

I'm offensive minded...not much for a 1-0 pitcher's duel...
I can understand that but it's just that this form of the game has no real resemblance to the game I grew up loving in the 60's and 70's. The game today has about as much in common with those 60's era games as the 60's era game has in common with football of the 1920's. I understand change and development, to a degree, but this pass happy, no defense form of football I just find kind of pointless (pun very intended). I guess the fans of 20's era football said the same thing about 60's era football that I am saying about today's game. And so it goes. -- Al

I think we all like offense but we also like balance. The balance has been lost.

The difference is that back then those types of players/performances were the exception, now just about everyone puts up those numbers, just plug anyone in at QB win or lose and they will throw for 300 yards.

welll...

right now...

you have about the most talented group of quarterback arms in the league as I can ever remember...

Brady...
Manning...
Luck...
Brees...
Rodgers...
Rivers...
Roethlisberger...
Flacco...
Palmer...
Ryan...
Foles...

just to mention a few...

there are a lot of Super Bowl rings in that group...

any and all of these guys are franchise players...

all the rules favor the offense now...

but that's no reason for a lopsided games...
both teams have to play offense and defense...
so the same rules apply to all...

Well,
Brad the Steelers have now lost another game that they probably should not have. GO FIGURE, jeez they are about the most untrustworthy bunch.

Hats off to your Jets.

Well if the season ended today, in the AFC New England and the Donkos have byes, the first round would be Bungles at Browns and Chefs at Dolts.

WOW; NFL excitement, catch it................ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Thank Christ the season doesn't end today.

Maybe the NFL can get the NFC South declared a disaster area and get FEMA to help rebuild it. -- Al

Al:

I am surprised at the NFC South (not the Bucs or Falcons), I expected New Orleans to be a contender with Carolina giving them a run for the money. The winner of that division may end up at 6-10, hosting a playoff game.

Jason, that is the exact scenario that makes the system weak. The NFL should at make it a rule that a playoff team be at least a .500 team to avoid the possibility of a team with a losing record actually getting to the SB by some fluke of the football Gods. If that rule means no team from a specific division qualifies, so be it. This discussion seems to emerge every season.:rolleyes2: -- Al

To further Al's point, you could have a team like the Aints end up 6-10 and host a playoff game vs a team like Green Bay that finishes second in their division at say 12-4, talk about idiotic. And in the dome, the Aints would probably win the game too.

Didn't the Seachickens "win" their division one year at 7-9 and host the Aints and beat them, then get smoked by the Bears?

Yep, just an awesome system the NFL has in place.............

Sanchez had another good game yesterday. Now that he has a coach who knows offense, he's starting to shine. He must be glad to be away from the Jets even though he and Rex were close. The Village Idzik had a QB but didn't know it.

I'm happy to see Sanchez doing well after the beating he took with the Jets. May not last but it's good to see. -- Al

George:

My suggestion a while back was that if a team with a sub .500 record wins their division they can be in the playoffs but they can't host any playoff games.

The Redskins are really BAD, as in they are regressing by the week. The Buccaneers are thrashing them 27-7, in DC, after the Redskins Bye week. How awful do you have to be to lose to a 1-win team on your own home field. Really sad. RG3 seems to have no clue and neither does the rest of the team. Time to give McCoy another shot. Not a matter of McCoy being so much better than RG3, but a matter of RG3 just not producing. Redskins will have some decisions to make. Ugly game. -- Al

49ers are extremely lucky so far. Eli has thrown 5 picks today.
