NFL 2015 Season (1 Viewer)

agreed...

making money for the league is the bottom line...

Goodell seems to be adept at that...

his absolute power needs to be revisited...

Sorry, I should have included the quote that I was referencing in my post above:

Those investigators hadn't come up empty: Inside a room accessible only to Belichick and a few others, they found a library of scouting material containing videotapes of opponents' signals, with detailed notes matching signals to plays for many teams going back seven seasons. Among them were handwritten diagrams of the defensive signals of the Pittsburgh Steelers, including the notes used in the January 2002 AFC Championship Game won by the Patriots 24-17. Yet almost as quickly as the tapes and notes were found, they were destroyed, on Goodell's orders: League executives stomped the tapes into pieces and shredded the papers inside a Gillette Stadium conference room.

That strikes me as ban-for-life activity, for both Kraft and Belichek. Really undermining to the credibility of the game.

Agreed; ban them both for life.

Actually, shot at dawn would be a better punishment.

Love how this story comes out now that the NFL got their ***** handed to them in court over Deflategate.

Now they are rehashing Spygate; great, get everyone whipped up into a healthy lather over that now, it's in the past, eight years ago, but let's rehash it now after the league got schooled in court.

Awesome.

The NFL is bound and determined to burn itself to the ground.

It's the whole world vs the Patriots; good, bring on the hate.

It is amazing how bad Belecheck was as a coach prior to the Pats job..When he was able to install his culture of corruption ,with the willing blind eye by the owner ,is when he suddenly became a genius. Must be all those smart pills before games in the guise of opponents game plans and intercepts of opposing quarterback signals..Might as well put him into the HOF under the thug section..Michael

It is amazing how bad Belecheck was as a coach prior to the Pats job............

I guess you missed the two Super Bowls the Giants won with him as their defensive coordinator, one of which was vs the Bills and their historic offense; his defensive game plan for that game is in the Hall of Fame.

Must be in the thugs section you mentioned.

Your'e probably not aware of those two wins being a Just End The Suffering fan Mike.

The name of his boat is SIX rings; TWO with the Giants, FOUR with the Patriots.

Also, he assembled an incredible staff in Cleveland, the coaching tree he built there is legendary; the Browns were a very good team, they were picked by many to win the Super Bowl the year before their POS owner moved them to Baltimore, the distraction proved to be too much and the team went into the toilet and he was fired. That team won the Super Bowl a couple of years later, so he laid the foundation for that win in Cleveland.

But again Mike, don't let the facts get in your way.

No such thing as lovable winners, that's for sure......................

These are some very serious allegations. However, I am not sure I believe everything in the article. The writer does appear to be slightly 'anti-Patriot'.

The one thing I did get a laugh at was the point that the alleged cheating was not successful, therefore it was not cheating? Seems like they are saying, "I tried to cheat on the test but the guy I copied from wasn't very smart so I got an F, so since my cheating didn't help me it wasn't really cheating".

ESPN and The NFL Network are both anti Patriots, so any crap that comes from either source for me is just that, crap.

Why "break" this story now, two days before opening night?

So what are we going to do now, revisit Spygate from eight years ago?

I think I'll call my ex girlfriend from eight years ago to restart that noise, that would be so productive and a great use of my time.

Yeah, sure, why not.............................

George:

The timing of the article is pretty suspicious but at the same time it doesn't exactly paint Goodell's actions during spygate in a positive light either. Destroying supposed evidence so that it could not be used again? Huh?

I thought we had gotten past deflategate now we are back on spygate? All I can do now is hope that once the season kicks off this will all quiet down.

Just watched "America's Game; the 2014 Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots"...................."Three corners; MALCOLM, GO!!"...........that just never gets old.

And if you're not some mediot brain washed zombie, watch "Do your job" tomorrow night on the NFL Network as it's the story of the 2014 team as told by the coaches................you know, the guys who actually coach, prepare the team better than the other guy, guys who put in a **** ton of hours to make a team successful, all done without cheating.

Watch it and stop the nonsense...........................some stooge today said the NFL should give the Patriots the death penalty like the do in college football.

And to think that guy breeds.............................

You Australians ought to be keeping an eye on Univ. of Maryland kicker Brad Craddock. He hails from Adelaide and is the best placekicker in Division 1 football. He's won several games for the Terps and is projected to go in next years NFL draft. He won the Lou Groza in 2014 which is awarded to the NCAA's most outstanding kicker. He's holds the school record for longest FG at 57 yards; holds the school record for highest percentage of kicks made in a season at 94.7%; made 24 consecutive FG's from 2013-2014 and holds the current highest percentage of kicks made in a career at 81.7%. Been watching him his 4 years here at UMd and he is a class act. -- Al

Al,
I looked at his Wiki entry and lots of stories on him. Craddock does look good. Never heard of him before but little coverage of College football here. He is a kicker so game time limited. A kicker in Rugby League does a lot more here and often they are the same guys who play a QB type role. Most of those type players play a full 80 minutes. Even if Craddock does make it into NFL I doubt there will be the Australian interest as there is with Hayne. Craddock been playing the game for years already whereas Hayne gave up being big fish in small pond to be a little fish in your big sea. I would say Hayne would be more interesting to watch as a more all around athlete. Hayne's contract with 49ers less than what he was on here but where he will make the money will be endorsements. Will let you know when I see first 49ers Hayne shirt walking around although more likely in Sydney than Brisbane where I am.

One of main free to air channels here planning to show all 49er games and Hayne/49ers getting a lot of coverage in papers here. Seems this will encourage other Aussies to aim for NFL although difference with Hayne is that he has long held the ambition to go for NFL. The fact he took a pay cut shows his motivation. I think his next aim is to get some good game time and for him the ultimate would be to get a touchdown.

the Giants have refused to sign a contract with Jason Pierre-Paul..
nicknamed JP-3 or JPP...
their star defensive end and sack leader...
blew a finger off playing with firecrackers about 2 months ago...
the Giants are refusing to sign his franchise tag tender as they don't think he is near "football ready"...

http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/...pierre-paul-finger-hand-football-ready-090915

if you don't follow the NFC East...
most of you may not know who he is...
but he was the Giants 1st round pick in 2010...
a 2 time Pro Bowl selection since then...
he is a total brute and a force to be reckoned with on every play...chasing QB's all over the field...

he is definitely out against the Cowboys in their season opener...

I wish him a speedy recovery and resuming his career...

but I'm glad he won't be crushing Tony Romo Sunday night...

I don't think refuse is the right word. He's just not ready so he returned home.

actually...

I think he is ready...

the Giants aren't...

he tried to hide the severity of his injury...

and now that the Giants are aware of how bad it is and how out of shape he is...

they won't sign him yet...

sounds like a job for the Union...^&grin

"And so, enter common sense again. If Pierre-Paul was truly ready to play an NFL game, that would mean the Giants were stopping him by refusing to allow him to sign his franchise tender for $14.8 million. Which would mean they're costing him almost $1 million per week he's sidelined. Which would mean Pierre-Paul would be livid. Which would mean he and his representatives would sic the NFL Players Association on the Giants and ask the union to practically bang down the doors of the team's facility and demand they allow Pierre-Paul to sign or rescind the tender so he can sign elsewhere."

No, Coughlin didn't think he was ready so they sent him home.

I'm stumped as to why they haven't signed him yet.

I really can't put a finger on it as to why.

Don't worry Jints fans; he'll be back in time to lead the 7-9 Jints to a Super Bowl victory, it's been four years since their last win and like leap year, they seem to rise to the occasion every four years.

Grampa Coughlin is primed and ready, hands on hips, digusted look on his face, playsheet in hand, looking like someone stole his Metamucil..................

Patriots ask NFL to reinstate suspended Deflategate employees

http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/...flategate-employees-jastremski-mcnally-090915

is this a slippery slope to make this decision now?

with the appeal forthcoming...

if the NFL agrees to lift the suspension on these 2 ball attendants...
which I doubt Goodell will...
wouldn't that almost be an acceptance of what they allegedly have done...
wouldn't that hurt the NFL's case in their court appeal if they allowed them back on the field now?

if the NFL declines to lift the suspension on these 2 ball attendants...
which I think they will...
won't it confirm their resolution that they actually did something?

why would the NFL reinstate them with an appeal coming up?

this seem like a difficult request from New England with an appeal in the future...

I kind of feel they would be better suited to wait for a favorable appeal ruling before making this request...

if I were John Jastremski or Jim McNally...
I would not want to put the pressure on the NFL to allow me back yet...

I would want to wait for a hopefully favorable appeal decision...

I just can't see any way that the NFL could allow this right now...
with an appeal pending...

it would almost be like saying that the NFL now doesn't believe these guys doctored the ball...

this seems like a very strange request to me right now...
I feel like NE is throwing these guys under the bus by asking now...
Goodell has to decline on this request doesn't he?

I'm stumped as to why they haven't signed him yet.

they basically said that he is not "football ready"...

I would presume working out with one hand hinders his progress...

I just had carpal tunnel surgery on both my hands last month...

one 3 weeks after the other was done...

I didn't lose a finger...but they hurt...slow recovery...

you don't realize how much you use your hands til you can't use one...
