NFL 2015 Season (1 Viewer)

Coughlin or Eli really kissed the pooch on their non-time wasting drive last night...

a very bad call to throw the ball away instead of going to the ground...
or running the ball...
to run off another 40 seconds...

it was improbable that Dallas could score with so little time remaining...

but they did...

this cost NY a game...

a squeaker for the Cowboys...

but an outstanding final effort by the Cowboys to win the game against one of the most opportunistic opponent's efforts I have ever seen...

the 3 turnovers should have sealed the deal...

so this was a gift...

Moe...

Sean Lee led the team with 9 tackles...
one for a critical loss of yardage...^&grin...^&grin...^&grin

That Denver/Browns game was brutal, no offensive touchdowns, two PIC 6's for the only TD's.

Suggs tore his achilles, out for the year, hope for his sake it's not the same one he tore before or he could be done.

Bills played like it was their super bowl; fatso will have them pumped and jacked next week for their second super bowl in a row vs New England.

Have to give fatso credit, he had the Jets super amped up for those two games vs New England every year; the other 14 games a year is where the problem started.

Only good news was that Suggs tore his other Achilles this time but that doesn't make it any easier, but such as life in the NFL, next man up is the story line these days and the back ups who earn millions need to earn their coins for real now, Courtney Upshaw is a solid back up for Suggs and though he may not be the caliber of Suggs he should be able to pick up some slack as the line backers are one of the Ravens strongest points on defense, we'll see...Sammy

Yes, it was a gift, almost equivalent to the Seahawks passing the ball in the SB. The Giants are not that good a team that they can give away games like this.

I wouldn't have kicked the FG on 4th down and this is not a second guess because I thought so before they kicked it. Only a TD could beat them so why kick a FG that doesn't guarantee victory. Worse to worse, they would have gone to OT tied 16-16.

The air waves will be burning today.

Yeah, I'm glad that they moved him to the weak side. Maybe he'll prove more durable over there. Always has been a fine athlete.

It was certainly an exciting finish, even taking into account the weaknesses of the Giants. However, the list of friendly k&w has me concerned that this may have been the pokes' highwater-mark for the season.:(

agreed...I would have run it 4 times and if I didn't score it would have run the clock down and gave the Cowboys the ball on the 1 yard line with very little time...

I'm more concerned about Dez Bryant with a broken bone in his foot...

and losing Scandrick in preseason...

hopefully...in 3 weeks...the Kracken will pressure some bad throws to help their secondary...

so..............

how does a broken bone in your foot heal in 4-6 weeks...

couple of years ago I sprained my ankle and it affected me for 1-2 months...^&grin

Cowboys PR has a history of being overly optimistic in these early injury assessments. Sometimes, foot injuries NEVER heal. The prognosis and ultimate outcome will all boil down to the particulars of the injury. One way or the other, the "4-6 week" comment sounds like balderdash.

BTW, I broke my thumb at the lower joint playing basketball in high school. I had a plaster cast on it for six weeks. Went to the doc and had it removed on a Wednesday PM. Went to practice Thursday AM and broke it in the same place!:redface2: I didn't touch a ball again until the following school year.

hehehe...

it didn't come with a warranty?...^&grin

I just had carpal tunnel on both hands...

July 30th...and August 20th...

the first one is almost healed...

but they both still hurt...

the brochure explaining the surgery is a little misleading...
actually it's a flat out lie...

it's says can resume normal activity in 2 days...

I can barely open a jar...

I have not played golf since the first surgery...

you and me must have some bad insurance plans...^&grin

I meant to say 23-23, not 16-16.

Indeed, we are the kings of second guessing ^&grin

Coughlin is not in a good position, considering they haven't made the playoffs in the last few seasons. Moreover, the offensive coordinator was criticized quite a bit last year. This will do nothing to stop it. Let's face it: without the Giant defense and the misplays the Dallas offense made, the Giants offense didn't do that much. The Giants could have been blown out.

17 of the Giants point came on the 3 turnovers...

a pick that went to the 1 yard line...
then the offense pushed it in on the next play...

a fumble returned 57 yards for a TD...

and a field goal...

time of possession was only...22 minutes...

NY had less than 300 yards total offense...

their offense only produced 2 field goals...

and Dallas's defense is suspect...

but in all fairness...
Jason Paul Pierre out and they had no sacks and little pressure on Romo...

I think the NYG will be fine...

they lost control of the clock and had a bad game...

but I really thought Eli would play better...
not sure what is going on...
but I think he is a much better QB than his last year...and this game indicated...

Day after day, week after week, month after month, season after season, as a fan of the Patriots, I have to continue to wrap my head around the fact that they lost not one, but two Super Bowls to Eli Manning and Tom Coughlin, aka, Beavis and Grampa.

The mind reels, just unbelievable.

Eli has little supporting cast lately...

both Archie and Peyton have always said he had the best arm of the three...

his Superbowls against NE...
they gelled and caught fire on a hot streak at the right time of the year...

I have always liked him...
I know he has a strong arm and can be accurate with the right people protecting him...

Coughlin...
I swear...
he looks like a heart attack waiting to happen...
red faced and screaming all the time...
but he is bonafide...
he has credentials...

Your mind may reel but they were a better team each of those Super Bowls.

The problem now is that ownership foisted an offensive coordinator on Tom and he's basically not in charge any more. However, some should have had the good sense to say this is not the right call and call a time out.

The Cowboys basically gift wrapped a win and the Giants said, no, we're giving you the present right back.

I think the Giants OC will be the next coach and I predict he will be fired in two years. He's awful.

they were a better team then...

and more so than that...

they got on a hot streak at the right time...

the NFL is so different than the NBA...

there are no 7 game playoff series...

in the NBA...the best team usually seeds up because it's not a one game fluke win...

in the NFL...it's just...in the playoffs...win one game and advance...

when a team gets hot around week 12-14 and make the playoffs...

they have a chance win it all...

Absolutely Brad; two "terrific" 10-6 and 9-7 teams that like Mike said, got hot at the right time.

In 2007, they played the Falcons at home, who stunk, then caught Dallas half asleep after the bye, then beat Green Bay when Farve forced a pass in OT.

In 2011, it was even better, they played Tampa Bay (good Christ, Tampa Bay), then caught Green Bay half asleep after the bye (are you sensing a pattern here), then beat the 49er's when a rookie was back there fielding punts and he muffed not one, but two that led to both New York touchdowns.

Sometimes, it's better to be lucky than good.

Say what you want, bust my chops all you want, but NEITHER of those Giants teams were better than the 16-0 and 14-2 Patriots.

9-7 and they won the Super Bowl.

That's just all kinds of awesome.

EDIT; actually, I got this wrong. In 2007, they were a wild card, so they played on the road vs Tampa; in 2011, with that stellar 9-7 record, they won the NFC East and played the Falcons at home.

9-7 and they got a home playoff game.

This gets better by the minute.

George,

When it counted, they were and there's no getting away from that. Do the Pats have the rings for those years? No. Do the Giants? Yes. End of story.

It may not be fair, considering the regular season records but that is the way the system works nowadays.

As I'm fond of mentioning you'll never convince me the 1988 Dodgers were better than the Mets, who were the best team in baseball that year and beat the Dodgers 11 out of 12 times in the regular seaso. Yet, the Dodgers beat the Mets in the NLCS and won the World Series and that was that. Nobody remembers what the Mets did except disgruntled fans like me, just like you remember the Pats; people remember the Giants as SB winners and the Pats are just remembered as having lost those games. No one remembers the losers in SB, just the winners.

Just enjoy the four you've won and try to forget those you didn't.

this story gets even worse...

http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/new-york-giants-rashad-jennings-told-not-to-score-091415

On Monday, Giants running back Rashad Jennings revealed that he was told not to score on consecutive plays inside the Cowboys’ 5-yard line late in the fourth quarter.

good plan...don't score and go up by 10 points with 2 minutes left to play...

Jennings said Eli told him not to score...

whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat????
