NFL 2015 Season (1 Viewer)

yea...I understood the article and video to say it was Eli's call...

why would he make a decision like that...

that seems like a coach's call...

Philly...Atlanta...is anybody watching this game?

I just looked at the box score...

so far...

last years NFL leading rusher...DeMarco Murray

in the 4th quarter of this game...with 2 minutes left...has 9 yards on 8 rushes...

was he injured?

is he just ineffective?

why only 8 rushes after all they paid for him?

I don't understand this...

maybe Dallas made the right decision when they stuck with their offensive line and did not sign Murray...

they play Dallas next week and I expect him to give a much better effort against them...
unless he was pulled for an injury in this game...

George,

When it counted, they were and there's no getting away from that. Do the Pats have the rings for those years? No. Do the Giants? Yes. End of story.

It may not be fair, considering the regular season records but that is the way the system works nowadays.

As I'm fond of mentioning you'll never convince me the 1988 Dodgers were better than the Mets, who were the best team in baseball that year and beat the Dodgers 11 out of 12 times in the regular seaso. Yet, the Dodgers beat the Mets in the NLCS and won the World Series and that was that. Nobody remembers what the Mets did except disgruntled fans like me, just like you remember the Pats; people remember the Giants as SB winners and the Pats are just remembered as having lost those games. No one remembers the losers in SB, just the winners.

Just enjoy the four you've won and try to forget those you didn't.

Thanks for the explanation.

I'm going to go with; there is no doubt in my mind that the night after Eli won his second ring, he had a vivid and compelling dream where he imagined that his sole remaining purpose in life is to make Patriots fans everywhere constantly wonder how the @#$% we lost two Super Bowls to him.

Yours is rational, lucid and well thought out; mine helps me sleep at night.

Also, the Dodgers didn't beat a 162-0 Mets team, but the Giants beat a 18-0 team and thanks to them, history was not made.

So there's that too, which is just more salt in the wound.

I can feel my blood pressure going up as I write this, so enough is enough, what's done is done and it can't be undone no matter how much it pisses me off.

Whoever the nitwit is who came up with these alternate 49er's uniforms should be shot at dawn; good Christ are they ugly.

The 49er's have one of the most iconic uniforms in all of football; them, the Packers and the Steelers have uniforms that should never, ever be messed with, yet they do it anyway with these hideous alternate uniforms.

And I get it, it's all about marketing and selling more jerseys, but that doesn't make it right either.

The Aussie feel good story fumbled his first NFL touch; I bet if he wasn't wearing pads and a helmet, he would have had it, good job cobber.

And the new 49ers coach has a nice look going; reminds me of a Sopranos character who got whacked in season one.

What a get up he's got going on the sidelines; is that a once piece track suit?

Coughlin or Eli really kissed the pooch on their non-time wasting drive last night...

a very bad call to throw the ball away instead of going to the ground...
or running the ball...
to run off another 40 seconds...

it was improbable that Dallas could score with so little time remaining...

but they did...

this cost NY a game...

a squeaker for the Cowboys...

but an outstanding final effort by the Cowboys to win the game against one of the most opportunistic opponent's efforts I have ever seen...

the 3 turnovers should have sealed the deal...

so this was a gift...

Moe...

Sean Lee led the team with 9 tackles...
one for a critical loss of yardage...^&grin...^&grin...^&grin

The Giants have a knack for knocking out or punching the ball out to cause fumbles, Don't they ! Lesson learned by Dallas from this game.... Ball security.
There is a reason why these players lift weights and have strong arms !

George,
What, dont you like feel good stories ?{sm4}.

Watched my first ever NFL game tonight and Hayne's game also covered on the evening news here.

Unfortunate first touch as you say but still a feel good story from what I saw. As the commentators pointed out first time he ever put on pads was 5 weeks ago. Also good to see them playing footage of him playing Rugby League during the game. Plus he had family and former team mates who had flown in from Oz to watch the game and looked like some Aussie fans in the crowd.

Unfortunately cant say I enjoyed the game itself. Probably not helped by me not understanding the intricacies of the game. Too much stopping and starting for me. League a lot more free flowing and more variety in what goes on. 13 on the field and 4 interchanges so each player gets far more game time than gridiron. USA never likely to adopt League but for those interested to have a look Youtube does have some good footage (Origin highlights, best tries, best fights etc).

Dont think other countries could afford to have the large squads and coaching staff that USA gridiron has :salute::

My prediction for the Cowboys is that they'll finish 6-10. Football is a team game, and D Murray was a consummate pro. I'd like to say that there's no "I" in Bryant, but I suspect that his new contract will deliver fans even more of a loose-cannon than what we've seen in the past. The defense may be worse, as there's been so much misguided focus on the "return" of Shawn Lee, a player who'll apparently never have the ruggedness required to play MLB. Were it not for the presence of Dan Bailey, I'd have put them at 4-12.

Moe...

4-12...

6-10...

both are sounding very possible now...

Scandrick out for year...
Bryant out for 6-8 weeks...

now today...

Randy Gregory out 4-6 weeks...

I see fatso up in Buffalo is already running his mouth about Sundays game vs the Patriots.

Talking about how loud the stadium is going to be and how the fans will be going crazy.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

His players are following him as well, talking trash and babbling about how much they hate the Patriots.

Brady is 23-3 vs the Bills, I don't think he's exactly shaking in his boots over them.

All of that said, I think the Bills will win Sunday because fatso treats all Patriots games like his personal Super Bowl and the Patriots are his white whale.

No doubt when he gets canned from Buffalo, he'll move on to coach the Dolphins..........................

after Buffalo's season opener win...I heard the fans in the stadium chanted...

"We want Brady"...

when they mentioned it to Tom in an interview...

all he said was...

"I'll be there"...

he didn't sound too intimidated...^&grin

but it should be a good game...

Gotta like the Bills D. They shut down Luck and Peyton and Mr Discount Double Check at the end of last season. Remember Patroits last loss was to the Bills albeit both played second stringers in the last game of the season

Although I may not like the Pats I'd like to see them shut fatso. We have a real coach now. The circus has left town.

The problem with Fatso is he keeps writing checks with his mouth that his team cannot cash, the bully approach and the trash talking gets old fast.

Parcells, Walsh, Gibbs, Noll, Landry, Lombardi never trash talked, they let their players perform on the field.

Fatso thinks by talking big, his players will play big.

Brad:

There was a phenomenal article on Coach Bowles in the Sunday New York Times this past weekend. I will see if I can find an online link to it.

I didn't know much about him until reading the article, now I not only know his story but I have a huge amount of respect for him.

That is why I'm a bit leery of going to other stadiums and rooting for my team. You just don't know what will happen, such as what happened to the Giants fan beaten by a Dodgers fan in 2011; the victim is now permanently disabled.
