NFL 2015 Season (1 Viewer)

All of that over sports.

That's sickening.

Disgusting is more like it.

As a 49er fan and a native San Franciscan I am embarrassed and ashamed. This is not a representation of 49er fans or the Bay Area.

It may not be much but as a fan of the franchise I feel the need to apologize.

mob mentality...possibly fueled by alcohol...not the first time...not the last...

Football fans are the worst when it comes to drinking; what other sport encourages you to get to the stadium three hours before kickoff, grill and eat like a pig and get ********* BEFORE you step into the stadium?

The two worst stadium experiences I ever had were at a Raiders game and a Ravens game. Raiders game was in 1986, the Patriots played the Raiders in the playoffs, so I flew out there with several friends as a buddy of ours lived out there, he scored the tickets for us.

The game was at the colliseaum , what **** hole that place is, nice neighborhood too.................

It wasn't those fruit loops who wear the silver and black make up or the uniforms with spikes coming out of them, it was the Raider fans from south of the boarder, they were brutal, beyond brutal really and they got worse when the Patriots won the game.

By far, the worst experience ever was at a Monday night game in Baltimore in 2007, the year the Patriots went undefeated. Myself and six of my friends drove down on Monday and attended the game.

I actually feared for my life getting out of that stadium alive, Ravens fans are about as bad as they come...............................

wow...

yea...

those are the "real fans" the NFL is looking for...

I guess as long as they pay $400 for a ticket plus another $50 to $100 in food and booze...

the owners can deal with it...

there is gonna be a lawsuit one day over a visiting team's fan getting mob murdered at a stadium cause he wore the wrong jersey...

Really hate to admit this one but the Raven fans that I saw were out of control, only been to a few games at M&T since I live in Arizona, but after catching the Jets/Ravens on a Sunday nite game 2 or 3 years ago not sure if I will go back, anyone I mean ANYONE wearing a Jets hat, Jersey caught Hell all nite long, in the seats, food stands even when I went to the bathroom Jet fans caught hell in there, then by late 4th quarter a huge fight broke out and some poor Jet fan got a terrible beat down, just unreal... on the flip side, been to 3 or 4 Cardinal games and other then a few heckles here and there in the parking lot the visiting teams fans get much more courtesy from the Cards fans, maybe it's the sunny weather :)...Sammy

the venue should provide ample security and monitoring of these situations...
in the stadium and parking lot...

I went to an Astro's game years ago...
they had a very light crowd...
two levels below me were two St. Louis fans wearing jerseys...
a young man and a woman...

Astro fans were throwing popcorn on them...
pouring beer on them...
just taunting them anyway possible...

I felt so sorry for the guy...

like the Bob Seeger song...

"And you always seem outnumbered, so you don't dare make a stand..."

the guy tried to laugh it off...
he eventually got up and left...
everybody clapped...

I was ashamed...
I really was...

that's the mob mentality...mob courage...alcohol courage...

I never saw security do a thing about it...

the owners are making a fortune...

they need to protect their fans...

Someone needs to publicly commend the lone security guard in the 49er video who initially stepped in to try and protect the Vikings fan. He was clearly outnumbered but still risked injury by trying to stop the fight. It was good to see a few other fans also try to intervene and protect the fan who was down as the brawl progressed.

Mike,
Having worked security at the old Patriots stadium, I can tell you you're outnumbered a million to one when **** hits the fan. The pregame drinking does not help, it's outrageous how out of control that is.

I know at the new stadium, there is a zero tolerance policy; if you're swearing up a blue streak or if you heckle, taunt or confront anyone, you are gone, your tickets are too, season ticket holders get bounced. They have cameras EVERYWHERE and can zoom in during a confrontation; also, if the lady next to me complains about swearing, they can bounce you for that too, they put up with zero nonsense.

That said, they have a waiting list for tickets a mile long; if Brady and Belickick retire and the season ticket holder base erodes, I wonder how strict they will be.........................

Understand Sammy this was not a knock towards you, glad you've been there firsthand and seen it for yourself. Now granted, there are bad apples everywhere, but WOW, the whole barrel was rotten the night I was there, they were unbelievable, anyone with Patriots gear was a target, it was nasty and not pleasant at all, it was borderline dangerous. I like a good sparring match when it comes to heckling, but not threats of physical violence, that's over the line IMO.

As you know, disclaimer - Steelers Fan. That said, I was a Ravens season ticket holder from 1995 to 2005 and why you ask? Well, I live in Baltimore and like the NFL and the Ravens are fun to watch. BUT, I just couldn't shake the Black & Gold and I gave the tix to another family member.

All of this said, I swore and still will NEVER EVER take my kid to a game there. Of course, there are a lot of nice people who go to the games, but the fans who "stick out" in memory are generally no class morons. They check their brain at the door. I have seen more fights than I care to admit and I sat on the 50 yard line high dollar area. It didn't matter, there was at least 1 fight a game near my section where armed police officers and security were involved. I used to go back with my cousin for the Steeler games, I would wear a jersey, he wore Ravens gear. While walking to the Stadium, I actually had an idiot swerve his car near us and yell some remark. I have been to at least 10 other team stadiums for games and I have never seen anything like what I experienced weekly in Baltimore. Sad thing is that a majority of people around here think its great and appropriate. Just a sad statement.

Putting aside the basic stupidity of getting drunk and fighting over something as meaningless as sports, I never really understood why anyone cared enough about a professional sports team to get that upset. Almost none of the players have any local connection. Many will play for another team next year. Why does anyone care whether a random group of players wearing one uniform beats another random group of players? If anything the fans should be mad at their own teams for bilking them out of hundreds of millions in tax payer money to pay for their stupid stadiums. I just saw a news story that said almost none of the economic benefits promised are ever realized. In fact, in many areas where new stadiums are built, the poverty rate actually increases. There are some stupid and unhappy people who always get up to no good though. I've been to hockey games with my kids where normal looking middle age women get blasted, spill their beer on people, and yell profanities the whole night. I sort of take obnoxious people as one of the risks of venturing into the masses. If you have to confront those kinds of people, you are only going to find trouble. Most fights I've seen at sports events are where someone is being an a-hole and someone else can't just let it go. It escalates from there.

I see the Manning luck hasn't completely deserted Peyton and the Broncos. Last minute game-tying drive and then the lightning bolt of disaster strikes down the Chiefs. The Football Gods are quirky.:rolleyes2: -- Al

KC has a very good defense...

Manning made a nice drive to tie the score with 2 minutes left...

with Von Miller and Ware...
they can really make an opposing QB look bad at times...

2-0...

Absolutely, positively unreal.

He looked like Frankenstein out there in the first half, throwing wounded ducks all over the place, then he looks like Starr/Unitas/Montana/Bradshaw/Staubach/Marino and Elway all rolled into one on that last drive.

What did the Chefs have, five turnovers, no wonder they were happy when fatso left Philly..........................

Exactly. My son and I were watching the game and I told him Manning needs to retire but then he picked it up. I wonder if his arm is so shot that it takes awhile for it to get warmed up. There was a throw towards the end of the first half that was almost picked off that looked like it was something I threw, a floater. When it was 14-7, the Chiefs helped them by giving the ball away at the Chiefs 20.

Wayne,
If you are not a Hayne fan you can always go for the Steelers whose kicker is Aussie Jordan Berry. Seems he is going to get more game time v Steelers.

His first game got more Australian viewers watching than the last Super Bowl.

Why I would even know this sort of stuff is a bit of a worry. Could be something to do with NFL suddenly being widely covered in the papers and TV news every day. I must check to see what he had for breakfast today but his apparent new 18 year old American singer girlfriend looks charming.

I am guessing you have not ordered your Number 38 shirt yet !

Not to worry if you don't watch the game. Netflix will be doing the 10 part series soon so can catch up then {sm4}.

Brett
PS an Aussie NFL fan recommended to me the live blog by the Guardian Australia. The guy doing it had only watched one Super Bowl before so it was pretty much from the view of an Aussie watching NFL for first time. Might be the way for any Aussies interested to see what happened but not keen enough to actually watch the game.

PSS I hope he gets better and better and continues the feel good story.

Been a SAINTS fan for ever mate not gonna change now because that NewSouthWelshman got a jumper !! ^&grin
