NFL 2015 Season (1 Viewer)

One of my best friends sons interned this Summer at Draft Kings in Boston, he loved it there and thinks he'll get a full time job once he graduates in three years.

I told him yesterday they might not be around in three years if the attorney general in MA has a say; once the attorney general comes sniffing around, you're toast.

Afterall, the state has to stick their hand out and get theirs, right?

Gambling is gambling and we'll see where this goes, doesn't look good right now.

George...

I don't think this is considered "gambling" by the Federal government...

I think this is considered "gaming"...it's more of a site that you pay to play...

there are no odds that influence the bet...

ex: New England -10 at Dallas...

I always understood that "friendly wagers" were not illegal...
that we could stand in the police station in front of the desk sergeant or judge...
and wager $100 on the game...

as long as the "line" wasn't a part of the wager...I think it is legal...

once the handicap is included in the bet...it becomes gambling...

there are no 10-1 odds like a horse track...

there is no handicap to make it illegal...

this site doesn't use a handicap...
I think they just collect money for the wager...
supply the software and man power...
pay the winner...
and take their cut...

I may be wrong...but I don't think they are operating illegally...

Mike,
It's a pretty big story here, the attorney general is sniffing around, we'll see how it shakes out................

If it s all done online .... how in the blazes would the A.G. know who "bet" or "played" any money. Plus how could a law like that be enforced?

Larry,

These things are not difficult to determine, with all the tools available to us today. The law is easily enforced, again with the tools available to us at our disposal.

It has nothing to do with who bet or who played, they are trying to determine whether the whole thing is legal and above board.

They're sniffing around, kicking the tires, seeing what's what with the whole concept...................ie, the state is trying to figure out how to get their piece of the action from it.................

absolutely...

I'm guessing...

if Uncle Sam gets involved...

it's to collect his due taxes on winnings and the business tax on profit...

I'm further guessing that the business is paying it's tax...

but to the winners...

if they have paid out 2 billion in winnings...

the Feds want their cut...

the Attorney General will just demand the records of winners and pursue them for the taxes they owe...

Ahhhh yes .... the IRS .... how stupid of me. :redface2:
The IRS cares NOT for anything ... except their share ....!!

Larry...

you got it...

it's all about Uncle Sam getting his cut...

most of these poker sites operate in "untouchable" locales"...

I have played on Hold-Em poker sites in the past that were located in Morraco...the Strait of Gibraltor...the Cayman Islands...

not myself...I was small time...but huge amounts of money exchange hands on these sites...

and they pay the winners like clockwork...

most sites won't even accept a US customer's cash...

some still will...

there is an online poker site in Nevada that is legal...but you must be a resident of Nevada to play on it...

there are no US based sites to the best of my knowledge unless they are flying under the radar...

it's easier and safer to set up 50 computers operated by 2-3 guys in a country that doesn't have to deal with Uncle Sam...

the Feds want their cut...

do you remember years ago that they introduced the marijuana tax stamp...

oooooh yea...

it was illegal to sell it...

but if you did...

Uncle Sam had his hand out for his cut...

Brad .... {eek3} you don't mean to suggest that "OUR" government would stoop to something as unmoral as wire taps, on-line sniffers and covert spying on its OWN citizens, do you ....{sm2}

OH WAIT .....

I'm wearing sun glasses since I don't want "BIG BROTHER" to pay me a visit

If anyone wants a seat on my Raven bandwagon one just became available....unreal, how do you lead 21-9 in the 3rd and lose???? got to face it, we have no leaders on defense, Flacco looks like this year is a wash with no real outside threat, time to look forward to the draft party as the season is down the terlet as Archie would say...Sammy

Lots of close games with 3 OT games and 2 games decided by 1 point. Both the 'skins and the Ravens lost in OT. Bummer. -- Al

I'm done with the close but no cigar comparison, basically the defense has lost 3 games we were winning in the 4th quarter, when do you let the Browns, Bengals,Raiders throw on you allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll day long and lose, time for a change, coach Pees, DB coach, I really don't care at this point, can't wait until we play the likes of a Palmer, Rothenburger, Wilson, Hell I may even join the fantasy league because who ever is the QB playing against the Ravens is like stealing money on one of those leagues!!!! 500 plus yards today for the Browns???? are you fing kidding me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! don't worry 49er fans the Raven defense is coming to town next Sunday and that's a sure fire fix for your Cappynick, minimum of 400 passing, I'll give him another 100 rushing just to be fair, gonna be a long cold winter in Arizona this year, hey Al, when does Spring training start??? oh nevermind, forgot the O's were just as bad, hmm...haven't followed golf in awhile?? as long as the guy isn't from a Maryland area:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:....Sammy

Sammy, it was a bad summer for the B/W corridor and this fall ain't looking any better. Got to keep my eye on the off-season moves by the O's and Nats before I get too excited about spring training. Lots of work to do, baseball, football wise. Have to see who UMd picks as football coach, too. Still have Terp b-ball to look forward to. They are supposed to be real good this year. We'll see, about all of it.:wink2: -- Al

My son says that people are calling the Dallas NE game the "Beaters vs the Cheaters."

Don't kill the messenger Mike and George, I just report the stuff!

Brad...

that's kind of funny...a little sad...but kind of funny...

got to have thick skin if you're a Cowboy's/NE fan...

now George...

beware of the second half...^&grin

Weeden looks fine tuned now after that great first half he had...

7-13 for 36 yards...plus 40 yards rushing...producing a solid 3 first downs in half...

woooooooooohoooooooooooooo!!!

we need a QB really bad...Dez really bad...even just to get Randle back would help...

Weeden will be 0-11 as a starter after this game...

I would rather they give Cassel a shot today...

thank God we're getting a pass rush today...

or it would be a blowout already...

I nominate 5-0 Denver as the luckiest team in the NFL so far. 5 wins by a total of 34 points. They could just as easily be 1-4. They haven't played a team with a winning record and, in fact, the teams they have played have 6 total wins. -- Al

Brandon Weeden is the king of the 3 yards pass...

don't even try and argue that statement...

nobody in the NFL is better at it than him...

he has got that play down perfectly...

he can dink and dunk a team into a 4th down situation faster than anybody in the league...

it was hard enough to watch the game...

but on the last drive with 7 plays within the 10 yard line...

and he wasn't even close to connecting in the endzone for a gimme score...

all I can say is I'm glad we have a buy next week...

0-10 as the starting Cowboy QB now...

I hope they give Cassel a serious look...

Weeden...
I don't even like his name...
I bet he has to wear a disguise to sneak out of the stadium...
