NFL 2015 Season (2 Viewers)

Some of these defensive guys -- not just singling out the Bengals but the whole league -- never learn with these late hits. You see it all the time. They never learn. Bengals gave the game away. They have no one to blame but themselves.

One wonders if Marvin Lewis will ever win a playoff game in Cinncy. This is the 7th time for him and they are 0-6, headed for 0-7. Maybe it's time to move on for him, and the team. :rolleyes2: -- Al
Boy, Cinncy sure blew it's cool and the game. Brilliant comeback thrown away from a lack of self-control and an untimely fumble. Lewis will probably want out after this display. -- Al

I have but one question: does the Bengal's coach Marvin Lewis just not want to ever win a playoff game? With 1:23 seconds left, in easy field goal range, up one, why not just take a knee three times, make the Steelers use their 3 time outs, kick the field goal to go up 4, and give the Steelers back the ball with around a minute left, needing a touchdown. Instead, run the ball, fumble, and the Steelers drive down the field.

Oh, and now that idiot Berfect puts them in field goal range with a cheap shot. And Adam Jones joins the act. Now its a chip shot. If I were a Bengals fan, I would either shoot Berfect, or myself.

That's what I was thinking.

Steelers were smart to quickly leave the field.

I had Cincy +3...

and feel extremely fortunate to get a win...

tough loss for Cincy on stupid plays...

I'm talking of the AFC George, as there is no way in Hell I'm pulling for any AFC North teams or the Broncos and you know as much as I love Brady and the Pats just can't pull for them either, so yea a Arizona vs. KC Superbowl is fine with me, not sure how many millions would tune in for that one but I would :)...Sammy

Yeah, that would be a real barn burner there Sammy, 12 viewers would tune in for that one. I'd go get the colonoscopy I've been putting off, that game would be torture...................

Denver just punched their ticket to the Super Bowl; they get a banged up Worthlessburger and then the banged up Patriots at home if they survive next week vs fatso and the Chefs. What a disgrace that finish was, 30 yards in penalties that handed the Stoolers the win; if I'm a Stoolers fan, I wouldn't be crowing about that win, what a gift and an epic meltdown by the Bungles.

I'll take the win. I don't care if they win 3-2 or 40-0. A win is a win. The Bengals have had those scumbags Burfictt and Pacman Jones on the team for years and now it bit them in the ***.If Roethlisberger and Brown can play, I wouldn't be shocked if they beat Denver. Hopefully it's frigid because I don't think Manning plays very well in that weather. I much prefer they go there than New England.

Both Wild Card Teams win, I don't think that will continue, my hope is that Al's Redskins or Pete's Vikings (or both) win to break it up a little.

Good post. In the end, I do care whether we beat the Broncos, but tonight was a victory for "role models", etc and what is wrong with the NFL. Couple of points that need to be made whether the call against SHazier helmet to helmet was missed or not (they miss calls and that didn't cost anyone the game).

1. Cincinnati fans booing when Ben was hurt is disgraceful.
2. Vontez Burfictt is a disgrace to the game.
3. Pacman Jones is a disgrace to the game.

The "right" team won last night and no jealousy, dislike of the Steelers, the AFC North, "Worthlessburger" or anything else changes that. Good football fans should be happy that the "THUNGLES from the Cincinatti JUNGLE had a large BUNGLE". I am more happy that Cincy lost than that the Steelers won, they deserved it and Kharma finally came true and is a proverbial *****.

On another note back to the game, I give the Steelers a ton of credit getting to out and delivering a 15-0 beating with 2 practice team running backs on the vaunted Cincy defense and banged up defense of our own strung together with old guys, new guys and not so good guys in ability. And I also know and so does every other fan on this board, if Ben doesn't go down, they win 21 or so to 3 or 10, end of story.

Bring on the cold!! The open end of the stadium faces west, so the wind will feel LOVELY!

As a good Minnesotan, I'll be snug on my couch in front of the TV!

I think if it's warm the Seahawks clobber the Vikes...but I suspect neither team will be able to pass much today. If it's about running and defense, give me AP and the Vikes anyday!

That highlighted just about everything wrong with the NFL. Punk players, inconsistent calls by the refs trying to enforce subjective rules and next will be the fines and suspensions that will be overturned. It was entertaining but like a car accident. And what kind of fan cries in the stands because their punk NFL team lost? Some woman was balling her eyes out after the game like her husband had just dropped dead. That borders on mental illness.

I don't know what "right" means in this context. Is that some sort of moral judgment for a team that has a player that carried out a vicious helmet to helmet hit but got away with it without out a penalty being called, celebrated it in punk style, and then top of it was awarded the ball.

That was what incited the crowd and led to the crowd booing the Steelers QB. I suppose you can say that until the Brown hit, the "right" team was winning the game. So please, let's avoid this homer-ism unless you're willing to admit that your player is an equal disgrace to the game.

Not to defend punk man Jones but that last penalty should have been offsetting at best because the Steelers coach was on the field. If the ref feels like he has to throw a flag there then it should be offsetting. To make that call and effectively end the game was ridiculous. They fine the Steelers coach but the penalty ends the game.

That's actually a very good point. I hadn't noticed the Steeler coach on the field at the time, but if he is going to be fined for being on the field, it should be an offsetting penalty as to Pac Man Jones. Looks like yet another apology letter from the league office about the officiating.:rolleyes2:

The coach's point is a good one. Let's also not forget that great sportsman Mike Monchak, either.

Will be watching in my nice warm living room :)

Bingo.

The Bengal hit was not illegal, shoulder and nothing else; the Steeler hit was brutal, helmet to helmet, led with the crown of the helmet, caused a fumble.

Sorry Steeler fans, that's total and utter BS.

The inconsistency from one call to the next is maddening to me, this league is a complete and utter joke.

And yeah sure, Pacman is a punk; always has been always will be.

To throw a flag there and hand another team a win is beyond pathetic.

The moron who threw the elbow the play before, I have no problem with throwing a flag there, that's just stupid, stupid, STOOPID.

As a Patriots fan, having the Bungles come here and the Chefs go to Denver would have been the ideal scenario. Pittsburg going to Denver with a banged up QB and WR who got his bell rung is just what Denver wants.

there was not much consistency in the calls...

they definitely favored Pittsburgh in the critical moments...

the truth is...

Pittsburgh was penalized way more than Cincy...

Pittsburgh was penalized 10 times for 142 yards...

Cincy was penalized only 8 times for 79 yards...

almost twice as many yards...

and I think at least 30 more yards should have been added to Pittsburgh's total...

one for the helmet to helmet hit...that was totally face crushing brutal...

and secondly...

Pacman's penalty should have been offsetting as the Pittsburgh coach should have been penalized for being on the field...

that game winning field goal should have been at least 15 yards longer...

I like GB in the late game...

but am struggling to make a pick in the early game...

I like Seattle...

but -5 without Marshawn Lynch...I can't pull the trigger...

any suggestions on who to pick?

I'd think the weather faces the Vikings. It's -5. The only way to watch this game is on the couch, like Pete and Julie.
