NFL Season 2016-17 (4 Viewers)

Condolences to Mike, but both our teams had great regular seasons before being eliminated in our first playoff games by a red hot Aaron Rogers. If it makes you feel any better, I expect the Falcons to end the Packers run next week in Atlanta.

Congrats to Tom and George. Should be a classic in New England next Sunday. If the Steelers make the mistakes they made against the Chiefs, they will not get away with them against the Patriots. I will never understand why teams like Dallas and Pittsburgh who are running the ball down their opponent' throats try to throw the ball before the other team has stopped the run. It cost Pittsburgh 3 or 7 points when a tipped pass was picked. It cost the Cowboys the game.

Exciting games yesterday, both. I'm looking forward to next week's conference championships, I think they'll be exciting, too.

Prost!
Brad

Not that the Pats need any motivation for the game this Sunday, but for some reason A. Brown posts a live feed to Facebook of coach Tomlin pep talk after the win last night which he calls the Pats A..holes, and rambles on about how the Pats got a day and a half start/rest while the Steelers were touching down at 4 A.M.??? the best part Tomlin was telling his team to keep a low profile and just show up and be ready, guess Brown didn't heed the advice.

yea...

like Brady needs some motivation to get up for that game...

never poke a sleeping bear...

Just perfect. Jeez, brains are sometimes just not present.

Just to add to Mike's comments about the Cowboys. While disappointed, I am hopeful of the future. Eliminating a few penalties or better clock management at the end and the Cowboys could be moving on to the next round. Those seem like issues that can be fixed as the team and its leaders mature.

I do think Aaron Rodgers showed that he is Hall of Fame caliber yesterday. It was almost depressing watching him shred the Cowboys, as well as being in awe. I feel good that the Cowboys persevered and made a game of it, especially its two rookie stars.

I look forward to the Falcons/Packers match up, as it should be a great game.

The original video/ post has been deleted but it's all over Youtube, Tomlin was in a a different area of the locker room then A. Brown who was recording the locker room festivities live, but Tomlin had no idea that Brown was recording anything, you can bet what the conversations of the week are going to start with in Pitt/N.E.

just watched that video...unreal...to tape someone and post it on the Internet...what was he thinking?

Brown is a great player...but that was so dumb...I bet their office will eventually fine him for that...heck...the NFL may fine him for that...

Patriots are a 5.5 favorite while Falcons are a 4 point favorite.

Packers are on a roll, to put it mildly and whatever cliche you want to employ, they just beat the best team in the Conference, and they have "it" right now. Very hard to see them losing.

Brad,

The best team in the conference all season has arguably been the Falcons. If they don't get rooked out of a victory over Seattle by an unbelievably bad no call, they are 12-4, only one game back of the Cowboys. I expect the Falcons to score at least 42 points against the incredibly suspect Packers pass defense, missing 4 starters. If Green Bay wins this game, it is going to be by scoring more than 42 points, on the road, without their best wide receiver. Its not impossible, but I certainly can see them losing to the Falcons.

I cannot believe that Antonio Brown was stupid enough to post that locker room pep talk. Belichik will have the Patriots and their fans foaming at the mouth next weekend. What is it about wide receivers? Are all the best wide outs mentally ill? Man the list of great wide receivers that screw up their teams is a long one. OBJ with your boat trip, Antonio Brown has you beat!

Meh, it's a whole lot of nothing IMO.

I don't get the point though; how does he figure the Patriots have a day and a half head start, they didn't know who they were playing until last night around midnight, so it's not like they knew who to prepare for prior to the game ending.

Tomlin is not the sharpest knife in the drawer anyway; when Terry Bradshaw, he of the FOUR Super Bowl wins accused him of being a cheerleader, his comment was something along the lines of "I was a Cowboys/Hollywood Henderson fan growing up"..................:rolleyes2:.............I'm sure that went over big in Pittsburg. Not that it matters as the Steelers were 2-0 vs the Cowboys in the Super Bowl in the 1970's, but still, not the smartest thing to say Steeler fans.

George probably right watched the tape and i didn't take it for the disdain the media made of it. That said no brains on browns part, just dumb.

As to Henderson, actually it was a somewhat smart comment by tomlin and a pretty good stinger. Reason why is that Hollywood hated Bradshaw and somewhere out ther is a interview where he said terry bradshaw is so dumb he can't spell the word "cat" even if you spotted him the C and the A.

I am still on a rant about Kelce, he has now earned the A$$Clown crown of the year in my book. He is still talking to anyone who will listen except James Harrison. No class. I hope Harrison doesn't retire so he has one more chance to knock this jerk's lights out next year.

The more you think about it Kelce had more to do with the loss when he got a 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty knocking out of field goal range as well as chiefs used a timeout on the same play. Guess he doesn't want to bring that one up in his mouth offs.

my Cinderella season is over…I think all Cowboy fans…while disappointed with tonight…would agree we had a great season and can be optimistic to many more playoff runs in the near future…as we have a very young nucleus to build on…I do anyway…

like I said in many posts before…Dallas has a terrible secondary…and can be exposed by a good QB…hopefully in this year’s draft…they can build on their secondary and pass rush…

Rodgers was just unreal tonight…didn’t seem like his receivers dropped many balls all night…even when he was flushed out of the pocket and running for his life…he threw strike after strike…he was pretty special tonight…as were his receivers and especially his field goal kicker…what a clutch guy he was…

As soon as I saw him rolling out to throw I knew that was going big- the guy does it all the time. For the life of me, I failed to see where the Packers could stop Elliot and why he didn't have 10-12 more carries is beyond me. I agree, we do have a great nucleus to build around but with free agency being what it is, not sure the nucleus always lasts like it used- the recipe for success has changed and isn't like it was. The worst case scenario is something happens to Prescott like it did Lee or Romo and Mark Sanchez takes us down the 2017 road. {sm2}{sm3}

Good news is my youngest son is a fan of the G Men so he and I are galvanized in our dislike of the Pack.

I read a recent article in SI that was saying the Dallas success this year came at the right time for the NFL and gave people something to get excited about instead of ridiculous deflated football lawsuits and the like.

Army beat Navy this year so all is good in the football universe! {sm4}

Manish Mehta of the NY Daily News ripped Antonio Brown a new one, saying that Brown "made Homer Simpson look like a member of Mensa with a single act of stupidity that will go down in the annals of achievements by the eternally clueless."

Manish said "it was an epic failure by a simpleton with prodigious football ability."

We live in a social media world nowadays, it is what it is.

As far as the game; I hope Belichick dusts off the defensive game plan he used on Manning in the 2003 AFCCG and the 2004 AFC divisional round games.

Rush 3 or 4, drop linebackers back into coverage, play two high safety and flood the middle of the field, taking away the deep stuff and keeping everything underneath.

Offensively, then need to establish the running game, which will open up the middle of the field where Brady feasts.

They are really going to miss Gronk in this game, injuries are part of the game and all that other bullshit, but him being out is a nutpunch, he's too fast for linebackers to cover him, too big for safeties to cover him, he's a match up nightmare....................

Is it Sunday yet?

Belichick is a true student of the game and I am sure he was watching the Chiefs game where time and time again, Brown found spots in the zone that left him mismatched, one on one with a linebacker. Pittsburgh exploited that to perfection, including the last catch of the game which sealed the victory for the Steelers and allowed them to run out the clock. I am sure New England will make the adjustments that Kansas City did not and or could not make. It should be a great game!

Well, it's almost gametime, so here is my analysis.

It's going to be tough to penetrate the Steel Curtain defense, Mean Joe Green, LC Greenwood, Holmes and White are very tremendous, plus Lambert and Ham are very good against the run. Mel Blount is very good, he's the QB on defense, so Brady is going to have a tough time throwing the ball.

Offensively, Bradshaw has plenty of weapons, Swan and Stallworth are a great WR duo and they have a terrific ground game with Harris and Blier.

I'm a big Patriots fan, but I have to go 1970's Steelers 28/current edition of the Patriots 20.

Wait, what? The 70's Steelers aren't coming to Foxboro?

Gee, that's weird as most shows I've seen (ESPN and the NFL Network, you've been dead to me for two years), the articles on line I've read (the comments sections on those are priceless by the way) and the local reporters here in Boston claim they are, they are predicting a Steelers win, in some cases a total blow out.

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

No wonder why Pitino hated the Boston media.

We'll see what happens; regardless, on Monday the sun will rise and I'll continue to sell toy soldiers.......................life goes on whether they are heading to the Super Bowl or heading home.
