Nfl season 2017-2018 (2 Viewers)

And for the record, the extended forecast is 55 and sunny next Sunday, so warmer than in Pittsburg today, weather should not be a factor.................

George, found out late last night after my senior citizen nap that next week will be xtra mild in the northeast. That will probably help everyone. What I've seen of Foles in the cold at home, I'm sure he'll be happy.

George...

the analyst broke this down...they explained it...they showed it in slow mo...he was there for the hit...the safety was all over it...but the hit would have been way too early...he couldn't stop his momentum...he swerved at the last second and barely clipped the receiver with his shoulder...

for real...at the last second...the safety pulled off so it would not be pass interference and giving them a field goal attempt...

watch it again...he tried to pull off so he would get the interference call...

and he ended up giving way more than a field goal attempt...

I,ve watched it over and over and just don't buy the explanation by the analyst. He could have slowed the tackle and it didn't look to me like it was too much early. He didn't need to nail the receiver. Just a bear hug would do to end the game

Terry...

I don't know...
it seemed plausible when they showed it in slow motion...
almost smart...

but...

a sideline catch for a field goal attempt was what they were trying for...
if the defender had pushed him out of bounds...
there were several seconds left on the clock for a field goal attempt...

Some boneheaded decisions by Payton yesterday; the first challenge I could kind of see as who knows what a catch is anymore, but the second one was idiotic. Kickers inside of domes can make FG's from 50 plus with ease, so what is the point of that challenge.

And you're spot on; at the end when they were settling for the FG, they still had one time out; if nothing else, run the ball one more time there and either force MN to burn another time out or kill more of the clock, then use the last time out if MN does not.

And that defense they were playing at the end was brutal, what a horrible way to lose a game.

Glad you fellas are pulling for the Iggles, Vikings and Jaguars, that's fine with me.

Thanks.

Modern football is all about match-ups and simply put none of the 3 remaining teams are a good match-up when it comes to New England.

The Patriots have all but won the Super Bowl.

We'll see, the 2008 Giants say hello.

Good luck Brad with your Iggles, Sammy the new Vikings fan and Al with Jacksonville so you will be able to watch the Super Bowl.

Best of luck to you all, enjoy the games.

The Pats may sleepwalk their way through the Jags game and find it closer than expected. But they likely win by 20 points. I'm interested to see how the Vikes hit the reset button after that miracle win. Sometimes expending that much emotion means trouble in the next game. The Eagles don't look like they can score a ton of points though and against the Vikes D it might be a long day for them. Probably a close, ugly game.

George, truth be known, I will watch the SB regardless of who is in it. Haven't missed one yet and don't expect to while I still breath, though there have been a few I haven't paid much attention to. And for the record, I am officially neutral as to who wins. I was just yanking your chain a bit about the Pats success as they tend to remind me of the Packers and their 1960's dynasty.:wink2:^&grin -- Al

My bet is that Belichick will never let a "2008 Giants" ever happen again.

:)

Dallas fans are still enthusiastic...
according to that chart...
they were in 6 of the top ten rated games...
I'm still enjoying football as much as ever...
not just the Dallas games...
all the games...

Unlike the public’s response to last year’s playoffs, the NFL rating’s slide has continued into this year’s postseason:

Particularly dismal are the numbers for the age 18-49 demographic.

The NFL has more to deal with than the anthem issues and CTE. There were so many injured stars this year that some games were simply unwatchable. Here is a short (incomplete) list of some of the big names that were injured:

Aaron Rodgers
JJ Watt
Richard Sherman
Deshaun Watson
Eric Berry, S.
Joe Thomas,
Odell Beckham Jr.
Julian Edelman
David Johnson

Well we have a game. The delay of game on JAX a real turning point here. Brady very tough in those end of half series. But with almost a minute left in half was surprised JAX didn't try to move to a field goal position with timeouts. Tells me showing fear IMHO. We'll see.

Bortles had amazing success in the first half...

almost flawless on his pass attempts...

not how I thought it would go...

NE is also struggling running the ball...

is Gronk coming back in 2nd half?

It has been close but the Patriots are still going to win this game. There is no way Bortles leads them to a TD on a two minute drive.

It was a good year for the Jags, something they can build on and Bortles keeps getting better. He’s just not there yet.

Congrats to George. I’d hate to have to deal with him if the Patriots had lost ^&grin
