Lack of proofreading and deplorable typing skills strike again...van Brocklin's nickname was The Dutchman. He was not a ditchman as I typed.{sm2} -- AlWell, I know the Eagles once had Sonny Jurgensen before trading him the Redskins for Norm Snead. Also there was Norm 'The Ditchman' van Brocklin, Timmy Brown, Pete Retzlaff, and many other names I remember from way back as rivals of the Redskins. Long history to enjoy, so I am pulling for the Eagles as a fellow NFC Easterner. -- Al
Tis correct. Eagles are one of 13 teams that have never won a SB. Winless wonders are the Bengals, Bills, Browns, Cardinals, Chargers, Eagles, Falcons, Jaguars, Lions, Panthers, Texans, Titans, and Vikings. The Browns, Jaguars, Lions, and Texans have never even made it to the SB. Lions by far are the oldest franchise to never make it. -- AlWait? The Eagles have all that history and they have never won the Super Bowl?

Yes, evil as in being great, just as some refer to the NY Yankees as the Evil Empire. Green Bay and New England fit the same bill for me. Great for fans of those teams, not so much for everyone else. -- AlVan Brocklin: as nasty a person as there was in the NFL.
Packers, evil, in what sense? As in being great? Yes, they were. Patriots, evil, in what sense, as being great? Yes, they are.
It seems to be a purely financially driven decision. Redskins could not or would not pay Cousins what he was going to command in FA. Smith will be cheaper, leaving the Skins more cap room and flexibility in the dealing with other players. Could have all been avoided if Snyder had dealt square with Cousins a couple of years back, so the relationship between Cousins and the front office has been broken for some time. Don't know where Cousins will land but his time in DC is over. -- AlAlex Smith to the Redskins is a good move for both teams, but what does that mean for Cousins?
