I was never really happy when the Sharks traded for him. By the way, since that trade Boston has won the cup and is a perennial favorite to win the Cup while the Sharks have pretty much been one round and done each year.

I was pretty annoyed when they traded him, they got basically nothing back in return, a lousy trade by the GM at the time Mike O'Connell. The problem with Thornton is he's basically a point per game guy in the regular season, but is invisible in the playoffs, which is not good.

And speaking of invisible, Raask is laying an egg vs the Montreal diving team tonight, Bruins down 2-0.

Raask has never beaten Montreal at the garden.

Not good.

George, not to fear, a simple bump in the road.
Boston fans must have really jumped on Suppan in regards to his heritage!

Yeah, you're right, just a bump in the road; 53 shots on net, they hit the post twice, the crossbar once, one puck dribbled from one side of the crease to the other without going in, another hit Marchand's leg on the way into the net that would have won the game in the first OT, he actually made the save as the puck was past Price.

Should have won 10-3 by my count, but they lost as Boston's favorite Canadien scored not one but two power play goals; he hadn't scored in his last 24 games, so naturally he scores twice.

Tomorrow is a must win game as up in Montreal the Canadien diving team will get all the calls; if they are going to beat this team, they have to stay out of the penalty box, period, end of story.

And as far as Subban; not true, good Lord did that story get blown out of proportion.

You may not know this, but his brother is in our minor league system, a great goalie and he's our goalie of the future, so there you go.

We hate him because he's a flopper, a whiner, a cheap shot artist and a cry baby.

Meanwhile here in San Jose:

Doug Wilson is on record as saying that he wants to keep Todd McLellan as coach. I think this is a bad move. Wilson and McClennan should be gone. Get rid of Niemi and Thornton too.

Of all of them Wilson is the one that really must go. He has been GM for 11 years now with no cup or cup finals appearance to show for it. He is the fourth longest tenured GM in the NHL (2 of the 3 others have won multiple cups, Lou Lamoriello has won 3 Cups with the Devils and Ken Holland has won 3 Cups with the Red Wings). I hope ownership has the guts to do what needs to be done and get a new GM.

So after that riveting defeat of the Blue Jackets life gets a little easier with either the Rangers or those dirty Flyers.

Go Pens !!!!!

Rangers draw first blood. Yup, got easier, didn't it

And they got the last one too; 3-2, Rangers up 1-0 in the series............MSG will be a madhouse Wednesday night, I hope you're going Brad.................

Let me make a few calls and see what I can do, you need to be there..........you and Louis, the big hockey fan that he is................:wink2:

I go to a hockey game every Saturday, and I even skate around with some of the players for 90 minutes before each game . . . my son Alec and his 8 year old team mates. They skated to a 6-6 tie this morning.:smile2:

Down 3-1 about halfway through the third period and being in danger of going down 0-2 to the Montreal Diving Team, the Bruins ripped off 5 strait goals and won 5-3, evening up the series 1-1.

The refs were just awful today, just awful; if they are this bad in Boston, I hate to think of what I'm going to see in Montreal, where 18,000 Habs fans go crazy when a Bruin breathes on a Canadien, influencing the refs to call penalty after penalty on the visiting team.

Win game 3 and get home ice back boys...................GREAT win today.

George, Boston is like Chicago, they know how to win. Although I started to doubt a little bit today.
Gary

Gaborik! The Kings really stole one tonight. Tie the game with 7 seconds and then get the win in OT. They should have lost 6-1 but several shots hit the post and Quick made a few circus saves.

Yeah I got this funny feeling the Kings are going to the finals this year, they are catching a @#$% ton of breaks and Quick is capable of standing on his head and stealing a series as well.

As far as the Bruins/Canadiens; the Bruins plain and simple need to STAY out of the penalty box and you win this thing easily, they've dominated the first two games 5 on 5.

Montreal has scored 7 goals in two games, FOUR on the PP.

Stay of the box and you win the series.

They already have the riot police on alert in Montreal. That should be an interested couple of games. To get to the finals the Kings would have to finish off the best team in the west and then the defending champs. That would be a tough nut. In hockey it's possible to steal a close game which is what the Kings did last night, but not often the entire series. The Kings are built for the playoffs though with great goal tending and D. So someone is going to have to cowboy up to knock them out.

I guess it would have been too much to ask to win two in Pittsburgh.

Can't blame your goalie for that loss, wow was he spectacular, first goal wasn't his fault, went in off of a Rangers defensemans stick.

Nash had better wake up, he's been invisible in the playoffs his whole career................

What is up in the west? The Kings go down 3-0 to the Sharks and now have won 5 games in a row. Chicago goes down 2-0 to the Blues and now they have won 6 games in a row.

Something will have to give if they meet in the Western Conference Finals.

In the case of Chicago, I think 5 of those 6 wins were at home. The Kings, however, have won three on the road. They were very fortunate, though, to steal that last one in Anaheim. They could easily have given up 6 or more goals and Martinez blocked a wide open shot in OT when Quick was out of position. Quick made some unbelievable saves in that game but his aggressive style sometimes gets him in trouble.

Great point, Quick takes a few too many chances for my liking, however, at the end of the day he wins more than he loses.

On another note I do like the feel of the Kings/Ducks series, they are very evenly matched.
