It doesn't get much bigger than tonight in LA. The Kings can move on or Chicago can force a game 7 at home. I don't count the Kings out if it goes seven, but that would be a tough nut to beat Chicago at home under those circumstances. The winner has home ice against the Rangers and would be the favorite to win the Cup. So all the chips are on the table.

Was it me, or did the Rookie goaltender for the Habs almost steal that game last night? The Rangers outplayed the Canadians all night, but that kid was money! The Rangers should have had 5-6 goals.

Agreed, that kid was great, I thought the series would be over in five games max after Price got hurt, the kid did incredibly well.

Blackhawks rallied in the third period and won, they are just relentless; their goalie is a total tomato can, yet they keep winning..........

I hope my Sharks trade for him, after all Montreal already has Price.

Obviously a huge game tonight. The Kings have blown two third period leads in the last two games. I don't imagine too many teams in history have won three game sevens on the road in the playoffs. That's what it is going to take. Either a win for the ages or an epic collapse for the Kings.

What a first period; Chicago goes up 2-0, LA storms back to tie, then Chicago goes ahead on one of the weirdest bounces I've ever seen.

Anyway these two teams could play a best out of 15 for all the marbles; the Cup final is going to be a letdown after this incredible series.............

In the last conference championship to go to overtime, Howie Rose, the Rangers broadcaster (but now with the Islanders, as well as the voice of the Mets) makes his legendary call.

Well, I guess we can peel Doug off the roof!

See you on Wednesday :wink2:

And as is often the case in OT, a fluky goal wins it, bounces in off a Hawks player.

Congrats to LA, they beat not one, not two but three 100+ point teams on the way to the finals.

They are one of the best skating teams I've ever seen, they are brilliant at it.

Two world class goalies to battle it out for the cup, the Rangers doing their trip the finals every 20 years act while it's the second trip in the last three years for the kings.

An original six vs the next six matchup................

Maybe the greatest win in the history of LA sports. Three game seven wins on the road. Trailing 2-0 and 3-2 and 4-3 and get the win. What a series.

I am happy for Combat and Brad. May the best team win.

Don't forget about Michael; he's a big Rangers fan too, took him a week and a half to find his Rangers hat, it was in the back of his coat closet with 9 inches of dust on it, he switched it out for his MFY hat, will be wearing it for as long as the series goes.

We'll see how the Rangers do vs a team that skates like the Kings do; the Western Conference was an all out war, I just hope the Kings are spent from fighting all of those battles.

Should be a good series. The Kings have played 21 games already in the playoffs. Ordinarily they might be at risk of running out of gas, but the NYR have played 20 games. They are the first two teams in NHL history to go to the finals after playing 14 games in the first two rounds. So not much of an advantage either way on fatigue particularly with the Rangers having to fly to LA. The Kings get home ice for the first time in the playoffs. The one thing that concerns me is whether Quick is going to step up. He made some great saves against the Hawks but also gave up some huge goals. Not his best effort. Kopitar didn't score a single goal in the series. It's been all Doughty (the best player by far), Carter, Toffoli and Gaborik. Gaborik is one of the strangest players I have ever seen. He seemingly has no presence during the entire game - completely invisible - then BANG he scores a huge goal out of nowhere. Very strange player.

Kings-Hawks game had the highest ratings of any non-Stanley Cup game since they started keeping track. Interesting to see how things play out tonight. I can see the Kings coming out slow due to burnout and all the talk about them being the favorites. Or I could see them steamroll the Rangers with their physical play. Arguably every team they have beaten so far was better than the Rangers. I expect a low scoring scrum. It always worries with when they have an early west coast start time to accommodate the east coast TV. The game sometimes has a sleepy feel at 5PM on a weekday.

I think this will be a hard series for the Rangers to win. I'm not saying they can't but I think the Kings will win. If the Rangers can win tonight (which may be possible since the Kings may be a little tired after their series with the Blackhawks) I think they'll have a shot.

If the Kings can win both games at home, then I think it'll be a short series, four or five games.

I give the Rangers a good to very good chance of winning this, they are on a roll and they have a world class goalie who can steal a series for you.

Quick has looked very pedestrian in these playoffs, he's given up some very soft goals; if the Rangers can win one in LA, they've got a great shot at winning it.

They've won some huge games on the road, three in Pittsburg and two in Montreal; Montreal is almost impossible for a visitor to win at in the playoffs, the Rangers did it twice, something the Bruins could not do.

The Rangers have proven they are the best team in the East and their future looks bright regardless of how this plays out, the Bruins and Penguins are going the other way while the Rangers are trending upwards.........................
