NHL Playoffs (1 Viewer)

This is what makes the Stanley Cup Playoffs so great, no one is running away with a series, no sweeps and all four remaining teams have a shot at the finals.

Key game pens win 7 zip. Good deal, now got to win one more. chance

We get to test my theory that you never want to win in a blowout because the blown out team always rebounds with a win. The Pens are in good shape though with a game seven still in hand at home.

The Preds-Ducks series has turned out a lot more physical than I ever anticipated. That one has been a real war and the winner is going to be down a few key players in the finals. I'm pulling for the Preds tonight to close it out.

I am hoping for two game 7's!

Very entertaining game between the Preds-Ducks last night. The Ducks completely outplayed them but goal tending was the difference. PK Subban is a real turnover machine for the Preds though. He needs to get his head straight before the finals.

Ottawa caught a huge break with that ridiculous goalie interference call or they would have been down 0-2 in this game. They look soft to me so that might have been it. Instead they hang around and get a close win. I think the Pens finish them off in game seven but that is a huge break for the Preds who get to rest up.

Terrible call, now to Game 7, Pens still had a chance to win, they need to finish strong.

I have said it once and I will say it again, there is nothing like a game 7 in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

I just read an article that the Ottawa owner was upset because they did not sell out attendance for game 6. If true, a Canadian city not doing that should loose. Go Pens.

From Yahoo Sports regarding the non-sellout:

"Have we considered moving the Senators to a real hockey market, like Nashville?"

There is something about this Ottawa team that really peeves me. I'm not exactly sure what but they seem soft. That 0-29 power play or standing around while the Pens hacked the puck into the goal in game six (reversed on the silly goalie interference call). They have no business getting this far except for the bizarre NHL playoff format that pits the two best teams in the second round. I suppose anything is possible but I'm guessing they get crushed tonight in Pittsburgh and leave with a big smile on their face for having got this far.

AND it kept going, going , going, going. Finally after nearly 40 saves and 2OT, got the go ahead goal. WOW.

Tom:

Congrats to you and the Pens.

That game was epic, one of the best I have ever seen.

The Preds are the #16 seed in the playoffs. The lowest to reach the finals since 1966. They are likely to get a couple of injured players like Fisher and Smith back though. And they should be well rested. Tough road for the Pens to play back-to-back game sevens and go into double OT last night. Game one is going to big for the Preds since that is probably their best chance of getting one in Pittsburgh.

I hope Fatso Phil was the #1 star last night; he took a nice dive to draw a penalty that resulted in a goal, then got his enormous dome in the way of a puck that resulted in the play being blown dead when Ottawa had the puck in the Penguins end with a nice scoring chance looming.

Not sure who got the game winner as I had enough about 11:30 or so, but did Crosby play last night? He was invisible most of the game...............that said, he probably scored the game winner................either that or it deflected in off of Kessel's dumper.............................I heard there was huge traffic jam on route 80 in PA as loads of fans from Nashville in covered wagons were on the way to "The Burg" for game 1.................imagine the #8 seed getting to the finals, this has shades of Bruins/Blues in 1970 written all over it...............................

George, gotta ask. Why don't you like Kessel? Yes he did take a dive last night, but that is a veterens play, good for him.

Good point here, I think if the PENS can get game 1, it will be huge for the rest of the series. They were taking an enormous amount of shots last night, but not getting goals, if they can keep that shot production up, it gives them a good shot. I just feel like it is there for the taking and while they have this team, they need to capitalize. I just wish Letang was in the mix, I think he would be huge against the Preds.

He used to be a Bruin, he refused to play defense, it was his way or the highway, so they send him packing.

He's a professional hockey player, they all need to backcheck as well as try to put the biscuit in the basket.

And that wasn't a veteran move, that was a dive, should have been a penalty on him for diving.

He's a slug.

I have to admit that was a veteran move getting his Frankenstein sized dome in the way of the puck, then falling to the ice like he was shot by a sniper from the nosebleed seats....................hockey players are starting to annoy me with their phony baloney "Let me whip my head back/fall to the ice/ like a soccer player to draw a penalty.

Sack up, it's the playoffs.

If the finals go more than 5 games, I'll be stunned, the LET'S GO PENS!! got themselves a nice tomato can in the finals, good job as the #3 seed....................
