NHL Playoffs (1 Viewer)

Hockey is my favorite sport and one of the reasons why I like it so much is its unpredictably.

The top two seeds are something like 1-5 at this point. Tampa not only finished with the best record in the league but something like 20 points ahead of the second team. Now they are down 0-3 in the first round.

Tampa Bay is going to get swept, they are down 3-1 on Game 4.

What a epic choke job.

They not only lost the series, but got swept in the process, that team was a total wagon, what a piss poor effort in this series by them.

They'll be flipping covered wagons over all night tonight in Columbus, the hotbed of hockey royalty that it is.

Can't wait for that Columbus/Islanders conference final match up.

Hockey is a strange game.

Pens are embarrassing, they got swept too, good lord what the hell is the world coming to...……………… Just crap, they look like they aged the last 4 games by 100 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After all these years, it’s great to see the Islanders doing well. I still remember that historic Islander comeback against the Penguins in the mid 70s.

Bring on the next victim.

They interviewed one of the Islanders after the game and asked him if he saw them sweeping the Penguins before the series began and he said yes...………...calm down there sparky, slow your roll, your team barely made the playoffs...……………...with hockey, the regular season means squat, it's now you finish...…………..or, if you have a ghoulie who stands on his head, you steal a series...…………...So they play 82 games to eliminate 16 teams, then 7 to eliminate another 8...in the blink of an eye, a team with the best record in hockey and another team with 100 points both get bounced……….yeah, there's something wrong with that...…………………...

I stand corrected on this post; the Islanders actually were good this year, had home ice vs the Penguins, I had them confused with Columbus, a team that barely made the playoffs and then pulled one of the biggest upsets in hockey playoff history.

Again, my bad...…………………..

The Sharks have the worst possible problem in hockey, bad goaltending.

You can mix your forwards up when a center or winger is struggling and you can pair defense-man to make up for weak defense but you only have one goalie. If he can't make simple saves you are in trouble.

Jones (the Sharks' starter) and Dell (the back-up) are both sieves.

It looks like I will be saying "wait till next year" This will be the 52 consecutive year for me saying that. I know the Blues - Jets series is tied at 2 but I'm afraid the Jets have found their game. Hope I'm wrong but I'm not confident.

Loseapeg has a team again? They left town, then they got another team? Same with Calgary; the flames moved from Atlanta, then Calgary lost them, then they got another team.

Get a team, lose a team, get a team back.

My head is spinning.

Bruins beat the Maple Laughs, series tied 2-2.

So the Blues go from being down 2 zip in the third period and heading home down 3-2 to scoring three goals, including one where the net was coming off the moorings and another with 15 seconds left to pull the game out of their collective ***** to go up 3-2 heading home.

If they blow this series, there is no doubt Gary will commit a homicide.

Maybe multiple homicides.

The Sharks scored 5 goals last night to stave off elimination. The problem is they are probably going to have to score that many to win games in these playoffs to make up for their weak goaltending.

I thought the game was over after the first period, Jets 2, Blues 0. But by the start of period 3 I told my wife Winnipeg better watch out and sure enough 3 goals, that last one with 15 seconds left did cause me to YELL!

Bruins were flat as a pancake at home last night, losing to the Maple Laughs 2-1, going to take a miracle to advance.

Have to give the Laughs credit, they've perfected the art of holding sticks in the defensive zone.

And on their first goal, if that's not goalie interference, I don't know what is, apparently the replay office is based out of Toronto.

You cannot make contact with the ghoulie in the crease.

Period.

But in this case, apparently you are allowed to.

Ok then.

I watched the disputed goal from two angles in frame advance mode. The contact, if any, did not push Rask or block him from moving. Hyman's skate was on the crease line and not in the crease. A common play in hockey is to jam the area in front of the crease and block the goalies view - a screen shot. And that is all Hyman did. The brief contact was Rask pushing Hyman in the *** with his catching mit - Hyman was not in the crease. The push by Rusk was a distraction and he missed the shot.

You left out;

Which brings us to the offside goal that Boston got.

Terry

Yeah, ok...……

Regarding the ghoulie interference; you much be watching a different video, he clearly IS IN THE CREASE and falls backward/stumbles on his own into Rask.

Sorry, not allowed; don't care if it's one skate, one finger, one...……………...whatever, you can't be in the crease, you can't impede the ghoulies ability to make a save.

Rask should have done what most ghoulies do in that instance, just flop to the ice and buy the call..

The Bruins weren't winning that game regardless, just a piss poor effort after getting 5 pucks past that big oaf two nights before, he's a rebound giving machine, for the love to Christ, stop being so cute, just get pucks to the net, just a terrible effort at home in game 5.

Don't worry Terry, your team is going to win the series, they are faster and have figured out how to shut down the Bruins.

Even the Laughs can't blow this series, they aren't blowing two games in a row.

Whew! Winnipeg almost tied it. As Doc Emerick says if it's your team it's not fun, it is nerve wracking watching these games.
