NHL Playoffs (1 Viewer)

The refs who blew the call in the Sharks Knights Game 7 will not be refereeing in the second round.

It's ok, they helped us out enough. They deserve some time off. ^&grin

I thought the Caps had turned the corner after winning the cup last year. Ovechkin played like a beast but no help this year. Up two games to none and then three to two they should have closed that series out. You could feel the old cloak of doom descending when Carolina tied up game seven. Justin Williams must have an amazing record in game sevens. He won several in LA. Past his prime now but he still is a clutch guy.

Bruins win game one in OT 3-2......…...totally dominated period one, peppered BudakanMcBallbag with one labeled shot after another and he did his best 1971 Ken Dryden impression keeping it 1-0, I switched over to the NFL draft for a few minutes, came back and they were down 2-1...…..seriously?

Took a late third period goal to tie it...…………...if BudabyMcMuffin plays like this all series long, this could be a toss up, we'll see how BubbaGumpShrimp plays going forward...…………...

Crazy sports night for me. It is Rounds 2 and 3 of the NFL draft where the Niners should fill some critical positions, the Warriors are playing the Clippers in what is most likely a close out game and the Giants are playing the Yankees with Bumgarner on the mound.

And yet with all of those choices, I will still be watching the Sharks opening game against the Avs.

Watch out for the Aves. I remember earlier in the season when the Blues first played them I thought Colorado was the best team I had seen so for. I don't know who I want to win the Aves, Sharks series just in case the Blues advance. The Sharks always seem to kick our a-- in the playoffs but like I just said the Aves scare me.
The Boston, Columbus game goes into over time and we miss the first 10 minutes of our game. Can't the network switch the game to the St Louis & Dallas market?

The Sharks got a split in the first 2 games at home.

I think the Avs are beatable, but I still think the Sharks goaltender is suspect.

My interest has really waned after all the top team were knocked out if the first round. Having watched much of the second round but Carolina is looking good. Up 3-0 now and they have won 5 straight games including three on the road.

My interest has waned and my team is still in it, but not for long thanks to Borballbagsky standing on his head, not to mention his best friend, the post. The top two lines have done absolutely nothing all series long, typical hockey being played by the Columbus coach, clog the middle of the ice and collapse down and take away all the shooting lanes 1950's style, boring as ****.

I'm not even going to watch tonight, I've got some unpleasant things going on in my personal life right now, sports is the last thing on my mind anyway.

Again, this is what I hate most about hockey, a hot goalie can steal a series, he's been on fire all playoffs long.

I bet the NHL is thrilled at the prospect of a Carolina/Columbus conference finals match up.

Somehow the Avs have not shown me much. I think the Sharks will make it to the next round.

It's weird for me to see guys like Grubauer playing goal for the Avs in the NHL playoffs. I watched him for a few years with AHL Hershey Bears. He was often a very average goalie at that level. I would've said the same of Holtby who played there before him though. And he has done very well. Speaking of the AHL, Carolina is becoming the new hockey mecca with the Hurricanes running wild in the NHL and the Checkers doing well in the AHL. I'm sure a purist like George is thrilled.

In truth, the overall health of any sport is dependent on teams having a shot at the championship. What's the point if the same team wins it every year; take a sport like football, where everyone has a shot.

Oh wait...………………………..

Could be worse. Look at the NBA. No one is going to beat the Warriors this year. The same goes for next year. No one else has a shot. Sure someone will win a game or 2 but in a 7 game series forget it.

Whoever wins the East will be like the red shirt guy on the old Star Trek episodes...…………...or, cannon fodder.

".............the red shirt guy on the old Star Trek episodes.........."

That part alone qualifies this post as one of the best ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Still laughing!

To be fair, Doug (Combat) came up with that one first...……………….I stole it from him...………..just don't let him know...………….:wink2:

The Bruins finished off the Blue Jackets tonight three zip...…………….Rask was lights out all series long, adios Columbus, I hope no covered wagons get flipped over and burned in anger tonight...…………..so much for Torts and his guaranteeing a game 7, what a stooge, Joe Namath he ain't.

It's on to the conference finals for the first time since 2013; the Hartford Whalers are waiting, we'll see how this series shakes out.

Wait, what; they moved to Carolina and are now called the Hurricanes?

Oh well, maybe they can wear those God awful, putrid Whalers uniforms as a throw back tribute.

Boston is on an historic run this year with the Red Sox and Pats already winning a championship. The Celtics are not going much further, but with all the big dogs already eliminated in the NHL the Bruins have a real shot. I believe they are now the top seed with home ice throughout the rest of the playoffs. The Hurricanes are playing as well as anyone with six straight wins though. So an interesting series.
