NHL Playoffs (1 Viewer)

Boston is on an historic run this year with the Red Sox and Pats already winning a championship. The Celtics are not going much further, but with all the big dogs already eliminated in the NHL the Bruins have a real shot. I believe they are now the top seed with home ice throughout the rest of the playoffs. The Hurricanes are playing as well as anyone with six straight wins though. So an interesting series.

It's going to be another tough series, the Hurricanes strength is their defense, offensively they are not going to scare anyone, it's pretty ironic that as they've advanced, the offenses they've faced have gone in reverse order, best was Toronto, Carolina is going to be the worst.

Get pucks to the net and keep grinding; you are correct in that as far as they advance, they'll have home ice.

I really like Justin Williams. Some guys are just clutch even if they don't get the recognition they deserve. Kind of reminds me of Kurt Warner. That guy took teams like the Rams and Cards to Super Bowls and gave them a chance to win. Williams is past his prime but the guy is a solid leader of that team. They have a shot at the Cup.

George's Bruins are in as are Gary's Blues. It is up to the Sharks now.

If it's Bruins/Blues or Bruins/Sharks and the Bruins lose, then good for Gary, good for Jason, I'm fine with that.

If it's Hurricanes/Blues or Hurricanes/Sharks, then go Blues, go Sharks.

If it's Hurricanes/Avalanche, time to rearrange my sock drawer or better yet, time to get that optional colonoscopy.

This is suppose to be fun? A root canal was more fun than last night. In my 52 years watching the Blues this is in the top 5 of all time Blues highlites. And the goal was scored by Maroon. He went to the same high school as my 2 sons, although not at the same time. I may still be on a winning high but I think the hard part is over. To Jason sorry I would rather play Colorado and to George I would rather play Carolina.

San Jose advances to the conference finals in a dramatic game seven 3-3 win...…………...sorry, that was the most pathetic offsides call to negate a goal I've ever seen.

This is such a great sport, but they continue to shoot themselves in the foot, specifically to the casual fan over crap like this, the goal Columbus scored after the puck went into the netting, no one saw it, it fell back onto the ice and they scored a goal, or the Bruins goal that got waved off due to goalie interference when after a Bruin player was shoved into the goalie, who was OUTSIDE the blue paint, he reestablished position and they still waved it off...………….just awful.

The Sharks have gotten wins via bad calls in 2 games during the playoffs. There are two problems with that. The first being that eventually you need to win on skill alone and second at some point those types of calls will go against you.

Happy to be here but without bad officiating I am not so sure San Jose is one of the Final Four.

Sometimes you need a bit of luck too in sports; the Patriots in 2002 advanced thanks to the tuck rule, this past year they had a game ending INT waved off due to a Chiefs player being offsides, so sometimes you need some luck along with skill.

I would rather have good luck at this point. The game the other night we had 52 shots on Bishop, completely out played them all game, yet went into double OT where we could have lost on a puck bouncing off a skate. I don't like the fact Pavelski is back. The way he redirects shots just kills the Blues. San Jose knocked us out of the conference finals 3 years ago hopefully we can change that.

I have bad call exhaustion after the Saints, Kentucky Derby and the NCAA basketball game with Auburn/VA. It seems part of the greater societal grievance syndrome we are experiencing. Everyone has apparently been wronged! Life isn't always fair. People used to cope with that but now they take to social media like the villagers marching on Frankenstein's castle. I would have no replays except in the final minutes of a game.

Don't get me wrong, I'll take the luck/bad calls. I'd still rather have skill though.

Gary's been waiting since Christ was in a crib for the Blues to win a Stanley Cup, so if the winning goal for them goes off the organ players dome, bounces off the popcorn vendors ballsack and into the net, he'll be thrilled...…………….

Bruins beat the Whalers last night 5-2 to go up one nothing, they stormed back in the third period from being down 2-1, Rask was brilliant again last night.

Keep it going boys...……………..

I don't know, I am really sick of the bad calls, they are not just bad calls, but the 3 you state were egregious and changed the outcomes of all 3 games. I find that disgusting in today's day and age. They should be able to get these right and yet they consistently are NOT and it is occurring on the biggest stage.

The latest at the Derby was one of the worst. The track was literally not safe, the mud was deep and the horse went slightly wide around a turn, go figure. Should have been a non call, it did not affect the outcome at all. Instead we now have a dead Triple Crown going into the second leg, just another nail in the coffin for horse racing.

My problem with bad calls is that as fans we celebrate them if they benefit our team (myself included) and rail against them when they don't (myself included).

Not that I condone it but usually in hockey if the ref makes a bad call he will even it up later in the game calling a marginal call to even it up. That's why I don't really like my team getting a few power plays early because I can almost be assured we will get a few calls against later.

Before the St. Louis vs. San Jose series starts I wanted to wish Gary the best of luck. I may not post much during the Conference Finals, there will be no boasting should the Sharks win, nor will there be any whining should they lose.

Gary might be the most dedicated NHL fan I know. While I hope the Sharks win, I also feel that if they are going to lose to anyone at this point, I am more than OK with that being Gary's Blues.

Bruins won again last night 3-1; the final score was 2-1, but one of their goals was waved off, total BS, the Bruin player was shoved into the Whalers ghoulie, plus the ghoulie was outside the paint...……………..at one point late in the game, the Whalers pulled their ghoulie and had 8 players on the ice, no call for too many men on the ice...…………….overall this playoffs, the officiating has been nothing short of terrible.

Rask was once again brilliant last night, he's in the zone as the saying goes.

They are now up 3-0, we'll see what the Whalers mascot the pig or whoever cranks up the siren pregame (the height of yahooism) can do for them Thursday night.

Goalie interference has become too much like pass interference in the NFL. After every goal it seems the team that is scored upon goes running to the ref to complain about interference. Sometimes your goalie simply gets beat (just like a receiver in the NFL). Accept it and move to center ice for the faceoff.

I wont' say too much more about it because the Sharks are guilty of doing plenty of crying over goalie interference. Whether it is my favorite team or any other team, it just needs to stop.
