North Africa 1941-43 (1 Viewer)

Great photo Frank! The 232 always looked best to me in DAK paint.

Thanks again guys. I'm still working on getting that pic off my point and shoot so you can see the setup.

A few pictures showing the setup of these last dios.

Here is shot of a LED video light I picked up this year. It uses 50 watts and has the equivalent output of a 500 watt incandecent. It has a color temp of 5000k so it simulates sunshine very well.

Frank,

Beautiful photography of an extremely realistic diorama. Congratulations.....I don't think I've ever seen it done better. Also, thanks for the detailed info on materials, etc. I've been considering getting some of those same desert palms myself and your detailed pictures have convinced me to go ahead and do that. Thanks for posting your outstanding work.

George

Well fmethorst u convince me with ur photos
I just ordered the SdKfz 232 and the AK panzer crew
with map and the one with bino
I wish FL would get rid of the guy who sculpt
the german face so we don't have to look at same
stupid long face in helmet. They probably would sell more
of those figures. I'm not the only one with that opinion
beleive me. So i'm in AK, i guess i will have to stick with soft hat
figures. Again awsome work my freind

I received the JG Miniatures oasis scenic this week and I just had tp play with it. I've combined it with the Build-a-Rama palm trees.

Really superb work, Frank. There is just something about this display that is particularly real looking. My favorite, so far. -- Al

Frank...

As usual, superb pictures very nice indeed. If only I could take pictures, even half as good

Congratulations Frank,
All the superlatives already said, beautiful and very realistic (shadows, footprints in the sand, etc. ..)
Expression in France: "perfection is not when there is something to add, that when there is nothing to remove."
I do not know how this will be translated with Google?
Congratulations again. Guy.{bravo}}{bravo}}:salute::

Well Frank you have done it again . . . . another masterful photo . . . . . just jaw dropping good . . . .
:) Mike

Beautiful pictures. You have perfected the skills in TS picture taking.

I've been looking for a decent home studio light for portrait that uses low power
and your LED light looks good. Would you mind to let me know who made it
and how much it would be ?

thanks,
CnQ

Thanks alot guys! This was a challenging shoot from a lighting perspective (I had to reshoot it a couple times).

This is the light:

One feature I like about LEDs is they throw very little heat. Even my CFL light warms up the room after a while.

It's been a while since i've played with my North Africa sets.
