Bob, just getting caught up on posts and saw this one. Another fantastic scene in this series. Great use of figures, your always outstanding groundwork and photography. Too bad there is an ocean between us, would like to do a collaborative diorama with you some day. Again, just stunning what you do, a true master at his craft. Chris

Bob,
This really is outstanding and as others have said, the groundwork is just superb. Great job, I look forward to more dioramas from this era from you going forward..................

Bob,

Outstanding as usual! Meredith and I are already planning our trip to Great Britain for next summer, and I can't wait to see you and your lovely wife.:smile2:

A true joy to follow this thread. Since almost anything about the quality of your dioramas and phots has been allready pointed out I keep it brief by thanking you for sharing.

Bob...

love the depth in this picture...
you have the foliage and trees going back so far...
there is no need for a backdrop...

some of the best groundwork I have ever seen...

I always thought FIW (forest/tree) dioramas...
were the most difficult of all to re-create...
all 100% Mother Nature...
either they are cheesy looking...
or they look real...
this is about as real as it gets...

great job!

Fantastic ! All looks really naturalistic. :salute::
Have a question. How well do the Conte Rogers Rangers match up size wise with WB Indians ?

Hi Steve
Height is comparative. However, and this is only my personal opinion- if placed alongside any of the WB or FL Woodland Indians the Conte RRs are far too chunky and lack any discernible torso/facial detail. In fairness Richard Conte designed those figures a dozen or more years ago and based them on the old 1940 MGM movie Northwest Passage . But as a backward analogy or maybe a metaphor is a better term-those Conte RRs today look exactly like............. figures from the 1940s :wink2:

As an aside they are also virtually impossible to convert. I have no idea what metal was used for Conte figures but they are as tough as tungsten. As a consequence of all the above, I boxed up my Conte RRs years ago.

Whilst on my feet well done on your recent FIW Dios of which I am an avid fan. Excellent work.

Hi Bob.

Thanks for the reply. Good to have the opinion of someone who has both.
Be nice if WB would bring some RR out, as I think Ken could do a good job on them.
Thank you for the compliment Bob, which from you is praise indeed !^&grin

Regards
Steve
