Wrong.
"The photos, taken by a Pakistani security official who entered the compound after the early morning raid on Monday, show two men dressed in traditional Pakistani garb and one in a t-shirt, with blood streaming from their ears, noses and mouths.
The official, who wished to remain anonymous, sold the pictures to Reuters".

thanks for the clarification. the source i saw them at said that the administration released them. thanks again!

I just heard that Osamas last words to the Navy Seal as he entered the room "Don't taze me bro".
Gary

were the Seals not long gone with the body before the pakistanis entered the compound and would have been able to take pics and, does blood not stop flowing once the heart stops pumping???

I would say its certain the US would not want the Pakistanis having any photo's of bin lid to deseminate around the worlds media and the muslim world

The Pakistanis would not have any photos of Bin Laden. His body was long gone before they took over the scene. The other bodies were left behind. It's almost impossible to keep anything secret though - and I'm sure the photos will get out soon enough.

It's strange that they are saying Bin Laden had weapons in his room but he was unarmed at the time he was shot. I would think the first thing anyone in that situation would do is grab a weapon to protect themselves. He obviously knew they were coming for him. That's a bit inexplicable.

Was reading earlier today the Pakistani officials are calling this "cold blooded murder as the victims in the compound were not armed."

Tell that to the families of all of those kids who died on the Cole or worse yet, the families of those who died in the twin towers, the pentagon and on the ground in PA.

What a joke and a very poor one at that Pakistan.

And if it were I, the checks would stop going to Pakistan.

As in now.

I say it at least once a day, "The world's gone mad." Last night on a discussion programme the subject was the death of Osama Bin Laden. One swivel eyed idiot was bleating on about it being a breach of the Geneva Convention!!! Others were ponficating about the moral high ground and how he should have been taken alive and put on trial, still others were complaining that his disposal at sea was not in accordance with Muslim practice. Fortunately there was a large proportion putting the victims of 9/11 and the London bombings standings to lower my blood pressure before I had a stroke. When are these do gooders going to realise fire must be fought with fire? Trooper

Oh my god I can't agree more. What a load of complete BS. I've never heard such tripe. Who gives a toss if Bin Liner was unarmed, not only were those people in the Twin towers unarmed but THEY didn't even know they were at War, at least Bin Liner had a chance to surrender. That programme made me sick, bleating on about his burial rites, who cares. As for that female 'journalist' who kept saying she was ' No friend of Bin Laden ' (I think she doth protest too much) we shouldn't expect anything better Alan, this is the woman who went on there sometime ago to tell us all we should stop wearing Poppies now. I can tell you mate from this household there was a resounding Anglo Saxon term that roughly translated means go away forthwith.

I have watched a few things recently question time last night and the Paxman news show night before and, on the latter a spokesman for muslims against crusades (cute !!!) would not condone what had happened terrorist wise and kept banging on about his muslim brothers!!!!! and their oppression. I would not allow them on TV to spout out their hatred for us whilst enjoying the benefits of living in this country. If its so bad why live in this or any other crusade country????

Whilst I defend the need for us to remain composed and civilised in our fight against terrorism to hear geneva convention and that it should have been a police action not a military one is stupid.

The only way this whole affair is going to be put to rest is by showing pictures. The US did when they killed saddams sons and they were fifty cal and rocketed to death. show the world the pictures and let them know bin lid is dead.

The US needs to learn how to profit from a propaganda coup as they IMO are not handling this event in the best way far from it.

There's a new drink in bars now, the Osama bin Laden: Two shots, and a splash of water.

*ba-dum, ching!*

True item: A Dunkin Donuts here in Allentown is offering the Osama bin Laden donut. It has two holes and is great for dunking.

so, a bunch of people don't care enough about a wedding to rejoice in it and that means they don't want to culturally mix? so what.

pakistan military and government have no choice but to be angry at us for the raid. they need to defer attention away from themselves and onto us. but i don't think it's working well. pakistani people are furious at their military and government - seemingly more than us and obl.

From Wash. Post:

The CIA maintained a safe house in the Pakistani city of Abbottabad for a small team of spies who conducted extensive surveillance over a period of months on the compound where Osama bin Laden was killed by U.S. Special Operations forces this week, U.S. officials said.

The secret CIA facility was used as a base of operations for one of the most delicate human intelligence gathering missions in recent CIA history, one that relied on Pakistani informants and other sources to help assemble a “pattern of life” portrait of the occupants and daily activities at the fortified compound where bin Laden was found, the officials said.

NY Times:

Observing from behind mirrored glass, C.I.A. officers used cameras with telephoto lenses and infrared imaging equipment to study the compound, and they used sensitive eavesdropping equipment to try to pick up voices from inside the house and to intercept cellphone calls. A satellite used radar to search for possible escape tunnels.

Still, the spying operation had its limits: the American surveillance team would see a man take regular walks through the compound’s courtyard — they called him “the pacer” — but they were never able to confirm the man was Bin Laden.

so, Bin Lid lived there, some CIA operatives and others in another house lived there!!! we really need to knock on doors as Elvis Lord lucan and mickey jackson will probably be found there. you see, if they had just knocked on doors and asked for a cup of sugar bin lid would have been dead years back!!!!

The locals must be really thick to not know whats happening in my village we notice cars and strangers not associated with the village immediately.

What a farce this post death is turning into. Intelligence services is a disengenous title

Sounds like the pontificating of an Armchair Fusilier to me. I wonder if his opinion would be the same if he had lost a relative in 9/11. The terrorists have distorted their religion to justify their actions, we can also quote from the Bible. "As ye sow so shall ye reap" and "An eye for an eye" spring to mind. We are at war with terrorism and the ends justify the means. Trooper

Both religions have enough doctrine to justify it's followers use of violence. I try not to sit near anyone that can't converse without constant reference to their respective deities.
