There's no pleasing radical muslim mullahs. They went to the trouble of wrapping him in white cloth and having a muslim crewmember say appropriate prayers as he was slipped over the side. And the mullahs are complaining. If I know the Navy, they probably put a pork chop in his pocket before they tossed him over. He's fish food now and good riddance to bad rubbish.

I'd like to see an out break of secularism around the world that says that religious customs will be respected by nations until those customs interfere with law and good order. No female abuse or mutilation, special clothes, child abuse, animal cruelty, subversion of education, or bigotry just because the imaginary friend says it's an eternal law.

I did like the old Gary Cooper film The Real Glory where he and David Niven taught the Filipinos to not fear the Muslim Moro pirates by threatening a pirate prisoner with burial in a pig skin.

Favorite quote of the day:
"It's God's job to judge Osama Bin Laden, It's the U.S. Military's Job to arrange the Meeting!"

The only knock on this mission is how they ended up with helicopter that breaks down on the way. You would hope that after spending billions looking for Bin Laden and planning this that we use a couple of helicopters that work. Very fortunate and good planning to still pull this off. It could have been shades of Jimmy Carter and his fiasco in Iran.

Usually I'd say I'd like to see justice done rather that revenge but this is an exception as it's combat.

Scott...

Thing is you say no to a raft of things which, are the ways of a different faith and culture so, we impose our values on another culture as we find them abhorent or, sometimes just peculiar.

Thats whats causing a lot of the problems.

poke at me if you want but i just don't believe this.

I read this and there are some good points raised:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...U-S-Britain-covering-continue-war-terror.html

Not poking at anyone Gideon, all viewpoints are just as valid, I just don't believe it is all. I would just say is this the paper that was convinced Dianna was murdered???(may be wrong there)

Quite a picture this morning of Obama,Clinton and co all watching Bin Laden get his rewards, how incredilbe, there they are in the US watching the man they've looked for for ten years finally meet his end.

regradless, there are some strong points raised. frankly, i think this is the beginning of something deeper with pakistan. i just saw a press conference with ambassadors from afghanistan, pakistan and usa and something is going on.

i suppose we'll have to see what turn this war takes next to find out.

and, if it is true that OBL was killed in Abottabad - well, that would be like a frenchman taking a vacation in berchtesgaden in 1944.

Covering up Bin Laden's death for years would be a conspiracy that involved not only the US but also Al Qaeda. That doesn't seem likely. Anyone who believes in intricate conspiracy theories gives the government way too much credit for being able to pull them off. There is often a lot of initial misinformation about these events which is reported as fact. And when the story changes somewhat those who distrust the government interpret it as a sign of intentional deception. There will be photos and maybe videos of his death released shortly. You also have an entire team of Navy seals that would have to be in on a cover up. Just too much to contrive. That doesn't mean every detail reported is true. My guess is they had very solid evidence Bin Laden was in that compound which could only come from observers on the ground. To pull a raid off like this you need real time assurance that the target is at the location when the raid occurs. And that can only occur if someone id's the target at that location.

Again, the article brought up some interesting points including a notice that OBL had died in 2001 and was buried.

Yes, cover ups are difficult to pull off but they do happen and there is plenty reason not to trust the government on things like this. Certain people have a history of shaping events and facts to fit their agendas.

Its always a good day when I can eliminate another potential dealer/ebay seller from my "approved list". Thanks!

As you said in another post: "I may respond to them, but I dont initiate attacks. And then, only when people take nasty shots at my relatives. {Whom, by the way, I will always defend from second guessers, Monday morning quaterbacks and preening, uber-liberal, pseudo intellectuals.}"

To my knowledge, I wasn't attacking any of your relatives. I'm voicing skepticism that many people in this country and around the world are feeling. And that skepticism has been well earned. If I am wrong, I'll be the happiest to admit it.

So if thats where you want to go with this, a-ok. If you have bought from me in the past, I appreciate your business and wish you well. If you have anything further to say, feel free to pm me.

I must say I'm getting a little sick of keep being told how Bin Laden was unarmed when killed, the people in the twin towers were unarmed too .

Completely agree, Rob. Also cannot understand the element asking why he wasn't taken alive. Can you imagine the long winded process of putting him on trial, the endless appeals against the sentence, and the convuluted arguments of the lawyers hell bent on dragging the process on as long as possible for the sake of profit. All this plus an instant increase in terorist activity taking hostages and threatening death unless he is released? Armed or unarmed he had to die, and I doubt the man who pulled the trigger has lost any sleep over it. The whole team who undertook the mission should be given the reward ($50million?) equally divided.Trooper
