Prototype of Figarti G Prototype (1 Viewer)

Sorry to say not my cup of teas as they look toy like and something my boy would play with but each to there own:salute:::salute::

Toy Soldiers are toys!
The TASCA Panzer II 1/24 scale model is considered one of the finest most detailed models of this vehicle ever done. The Thomas Gunn Hetzer is a very accurate and detailed model in true 1/30 scale. Plus it is compatable with 60mm as measured figures like W. Britains and First Legion. I would not let children play with the Vstank King Tiger as it has an operating main gun and someone might get hurt.

That just your opinion , I've owned FOV 1/16 King tiger which had miles better detail than that 1/24 Panzer ll but that just my opinion ^&grin

W Britains don't make AFV at the moment and as you said before figarti have not made anything new in the last two years so in 1/30 scale leave only FL in 1/30 AFV

A lot of Figarti pieces are on Ebay; so it is still available. K&C armor is 1/30 scale except for the M4A3E8. Thomas Gunn armor is a true 1/30 scale so a lot of true 1/30 scale armor is avialable
other than First Legion.

Kc and figarti AFV are all over place on scale and that the downside of using polystone and I should know as I both in my collection but First Legion are a step up in detail ,price and true 1/30 scale in my opinion

The Figarti pieces I have, all measure an accurate 1/30 scale; as do the Thomas Gunn, Honor Bound and TCS pieces, except the TCS Stug III and Jagdpanther which measure 1/28 scale. Polystone does shrink in the mold depending on how much filler is utilized; but the Figarti products were quite consistant. Perhaps the small lot size was a factor in their consistancy.

You tend to make sweeping generalizations on scale based off owning a few vehicles by a company, and the information you pass is often inaccurate.

Figarti has plenty of vehicles that are larger than 1/30. K&C has a ton of vehicles larger than 1/30. Pretty much every TCS vehicle ever made is larger than 1/30 (including the Panthers).

Lots of vehicles you declare 1/30 without actually owning or measuring them are in actuality larger than 1/30. I think to your eye they are just look "close enough" based off pictures of how they look with figures.

Even Andy admitted that some in the past some tanks may have been smaller than 1/30.

I did not make a global statement. I refered specifically to the pieces I own; which I have actually measured and calculated the scale. I do round numbers; if the calculated scale is 1/29.6, I will call it as 1/30 scale. The TCS Jagdpanther; which I own and measured is 1/28 scale as is the TCS Stug III. I do not stipulate the scale of a vehicle I do not own and have measured. I try to be accurate when I make a statment or venture an opinion; but I make mistakes as does anyone. Pleas tell me what vehicle and where I stated its scale in error.

Katana,

Here's two recent examples in the last couple posts of your sweeping statements.

The first one states K&C armor is 1/30 with the exception of one Sherman. That's extremely incorrect.

The second one gives the impression that you own lots of TCS pieces that are 1/30 wiht two exceptions. Again, completely wrong. 99% of TCS armor is not 1/30.

Also recently and in the past you've made sweeping generalizations that Figarti armor is 1/30, when lots of it isn't.

I guess you've never owned the K&C Hummel, Bulge Konigstiger, Short barrel StuG, short barrel Panzer IV, M36 Jackson, SdKfz 251 halftracks...:salute::

I do not own any of those pieces nor have I specifically stated what their scale is; as I do not know.
K&C has stated they switched from 1/32 to 1/30 scale with the Tunisian Tiger I in 2009. I would assume that means pieces made from 2009 to the present are 1/30 scale, per K&C's comments.
K&C has also stated that the M4A3E8 is 1/28 scale; which means K&C has produced vehicles in at least three scales; 1/32, 1/30 and 1/28. I am not saying this K&C is. I am merely repeating what I have read on this forum. Posts on this Forum are not Scientific or Engineering papers being presented where source citations are required! I would also suggest that you not cite phrases out of context; as it confuses the issue under discussion.

Please note the phrase(The Pieces I Own). I never specified how many pieces of TCS armor I have nor implied quantity. I cited the specific scales of the Jagdpanther and Stug III; which I measured.

The Figarti armor I own and I have measured are the Jagdpanzer IV and the Panther G at 1/29.5 scale to be very accurate; but I usually round it up. I have the Figarti T34-85 also; but since I have not had occasion to measure it I will not venture an approximation of its scale.

The comments about K&C scale is from comments made by K&C regarding the scale of their products. I would consider this information reliable unless you can provide information to refute it.

I would really like to know which Figarti and K&C armor is larger than 1/30 scale. The two companies shifted from 1/32 to 1/30 awhile ago.

I have not previously heard that Figarti made armor larger than 1/30; which pieces are they?

Whch K&C pieces are larger than 1/30; other than the M4A3E8 series?

When it is said that Figarti armor is all over the place in size/scale; what is the range of error?
How many units of scale +/- 1, +/- 2, +/-3? This would be valuable information in making a buying decision. My Figarti pieces that I have measured are within +/_ .5 units of scale or a range of 1/29.5 t0 1/30.5. I am sure those with larger collections could contribute far more data than I can provide. A facinating subject!

That right there is funny.

I've posted plenty of threads on products with measurements and comparison pictures between vehicles. Do some searching.

I've already given you examples of K&C vehicles that are not 1/30. For Figarti start with the grey Panzer IV and the Prime Mover.

Good luck in your search for scale answers. I'm out.

Could you provide a link to your scale research piece with photos that you reference? I would like to read the specific post.

W. Britains 1/32 polystone Panzer IV, T-34 and M4 are available on Ebay. Figarti has done repaints of previous models; T-34-85, JS-2, IS-152, wheather they are new or not depends on your point of view or opinion.
