Prototype of Figarti G Prototype (1 Viewer)

W. Britains 1/32 polystone Panzer IV, T-34 and M4 are available on Ebay. Figarti has done repaints of previous models; T-34-85, JS-2, IS-152, wheather they are new or not depends on your point of view or opinion.
why would I want 1/32 scale W Britain tank when I collect 1/30 scale and have you seen how poor the detail is on them as well !?

I did not suggest that you wanted one. I was responding to your comment that they were no longer available; they are available on Ebay and Treefrog Treasures has some on consignment. I agree that the detail is poor and I would consider FOV superior were I interested in a 1/32 Panzer IV.

I thought the hobby was 1/30 scale and don't know why your talking about 1/32 scale items ^&confuse

You laminted that W. Britains no longer made armor. I was informing you that their armor is still available.
I hope W. Britains resumes armor production in 1/30 scale and starts with a Comet; which no one has done in either 1/32 or 1/30 scales. Only the 1/48 Corgi diecast to my knowledge.

The hobby of Toy soldiers is both 1/32 and 1/30; with 1/28 increasing! 1/30 evolved from 1/32 in just the last decade. Do you know who produced the first 1/30 scale armor? I think it was Honor Bound or TCS. FOV, Conte etc all produce 1/32 Toy Soldiers and/or armor.

Some of the early tanks produced by K & C were probably 1/30. I have a WS 23 Panther that is quite large, although I've never measured it. The Jagdpanther (WS 59) was also large and maybe 1/30. The first Stug may have been as well but I'm not sure of that.

When were they made? I am trying to put togather a history of Toy soldiers and how they evolved to where we are today. The change from the classical 1/32 to 1/30 and now increasingly 1/28 is facinating. I realise that several European standards were larger than the 1/32 created by Britains.
The Spanish and Italians had plastic 60mm figures in the 1950's. The germans had the 70mm 1/25 standard developed by Hausser and Lineol; which are still produced today by Preisler. 75mm and 90mm also exist; but in limited contexts i.e. 21st Century Toys, BBI etc.

Back on topic I'm looking forward to see what Figarti have at the show in September :wink2:

Have you looked at Bill Sager's site and gone through the K & C range? It's quite interesting. Also check the brochure section starting from around 1997 or so.

Before finding polystone, K & C used to make wooden and resin vehicles. However, they were very expensive, around $380 or so and that was back in the late 90s. Probably the first polystone vehicles were for the Arnhem range.

The WS 23 Panther was probably made around 2000 or 2001, the Stug around 2004 and I think the Jag in 2005.

Thanks for the information. I have seen the Wood and Resin pieces on Ebay and they sell quickly at high prices typically.

Impressive website! He must have a very sophisticated server to keep all the photos online. I read somewhere he was planning a book on the history of K&C. He certainly has the background material he will need!

Louis Badolato has done books on K & C. You can order them online at blurb.com

They're well worth the money.

Did any manufacturer of polystone armor make consistant 1/30 scale pieces prior to Honor Bound?. I know occasional out of tollerance pieces may appear from some manufacturers; but Honor Bound started and continued 1/30 scale through out their armor manufacturing. TCS seems to be another early adopter of 1/30 and 1/28 scales. The first TCS Tiger I was 1/29.2 scale which is as close as TCS got to 1/30 before moving up to 1/28 scale with the Stug III. I don't think K&C consistantly made 1/30 armor until the Tunisian Tiger I. Figarti and K&C moved to 1/30 from 1/32. Honor Bound and TCS started at 1/30; who was first is the question I am trying to find the answer to.

Look like figarti are going to make some interesting Panthers image.jpeg

Another Panther ^&confuse^&confuse it will arrive in 2019 so pre order now not to miss out ^&grin
