Prototype of Figarti G Prototype (1 Viewer)

Enough already with Figarti...They're not the same company anymore will not be for the foreseeable future. They no longer are well capitalized. Time to look elsewhere for new armor or Treefrog consignment or eBay for past Figarti AFVs.

Don't mean to be harsh but the heyday days for Figarti have come past 2 to 3 years ago when the original owner left.

Some people seem to think that the mock up Panther G with Zimmerit and Schurtzen signifys the reserrection of Figarti. A modeler with putty and sheei plastic could make that prototype in 2 hours from the prior Panther G. No one even knows when that prototype was made, it could be last month or last year. I will believe that Figarti is back when Treefrog Treasures has the new Figarti King Tiger in inventory.

The next Panther I expect to see is a Panther D from First Legion for the Battle of Kursk series; with no crew for $450.00!

Yea...and the demand for the First legion Panther will sell out over night!!!!!!!!!

I agree Sammy. No one has done a Panther D in 1/30 scale. The Battle of Kursk was the largest armor battle in WWII; with over 3000 AFV involved. A Kursk battle series with a Panther D leading the new figure sets would probably be as sucessful as the Stalingrad series IMHO.

In response to a comment I made on the Hobby Bunker Forum about Figarti not bringing more to the West Coaster and how this might be a cause for concern, Matt Murphey of Hobby Bunker said that
Brad cash is king and they don't have it. To get it they need to trickle out inventory and save/wait. Or they need a pile of cash wired over to get about 8 things in production for September delivery.

Frankly, unless they get an infusion of capital, I'm not sure what we will see from them.

I'm not on Hobby Bunker forum but Brad is in the know, and Matt at Hobby Bunker is the U.S.A. no. 1 distributor of Figarti would know more then anyone what's going on with Figarti and he makes a statement like this, got to admit as much as I like Figarti and in hopes they return to the good ol days sounds like it will be a lonnnnggg road for that to happen, you can't make money if you don't have money, just as the Panther, looks to be a great tank in the making but if that's all there is a prototype to show?? hard to make any coin when you're bringing prototype tanks to shows, but again I'm hoping the best for Figarti and the new ownership, Rome wasn't built in a day, never over til the fat lady sings, etc. but looks to be a 2 minute warning and Figarti has the ball at it's own 1 yard line and needs a touchdown (or more money) to get back in the game, come on Figarti!!!!!!! you can do itttt!!!!!!!!!!!!:)...Sammy

The ecconomy in China is not very good right now. Investment capital is not available given the circumstances. I contend that Figarti needs to merge with another Toy Soldier company; where their expertise in armor and polystone manufacturing, would be of value.
Figarti could try crowd funding among collectors. Give each investor a King Tiger as interest on a shot term lone of say $10,000.00/investor/annum. Except their are probably not enough Toy Soldier collectors with deep pockets to make it work.

Figarti seems to be now a company of one. Yeah, one person. He's a master modeler and he ain't no businessman. Frankly, another company would be better to hire him in that capacity instead of a merger. However, he comes with an attitude despite his expertise. I could be wrong but probably not. Again, time to get Figarti AFVs from secondary market while you can or buying new ones from the remaining manufactures in the market. Merger, not going to happen!

I did not realize Figarti had diminished to one person. Not Good!

Fair comment but there not dead and buried and if someone does invest it will be a different ball game :wink2::wink2::wink2: ok back to the dome and gloom :rolleyes2:

Speaking of failed companies; has anyone heard anything about the current status of Forces of Valor/Unimax? First I heard they were sold and next I hear they are out of business! A lot of opportunities for a new model armor company if Figarti and FOV are both gone.

If there's anybody who is in the know about Figarti, it's Carlos (desk11desk12) so take what he says about them as gospel.

It appears that Katana was probably right when he grouped Figarti in his Fallen Flags thread.

If that maybe the case thank god First legion make true 1/30 armour !

FL does not make enough armor and artillery to replace Figarti. FL has an excellent opportunity to expand its armor and artillery products to the late war period; with Panthers, Jagdpanthers, Jagdpanzers, Jagdtigers, Tiger Is, King Tigers, T34-85, SU-100, JS-2, ISU-152, ISU-122 et. al.

Thomas Gunn has already done an excellent true 1/30 scale Hetzer and Lynx and they are also positioned to expand their armor line in the absence of competition from Figarti. To paraphrase a truism; "Business Abhors a Vacuum"!

Of course figarti have made more armour than figarti they been in business for longer but bet FL. Have made more AFV than figarti TG, TCS and figarti last two years ! Also TG are not in the market for making a lot of AFV going from what the owner said , so for me at the moment it FL armour all the way

I challange you to enumerate the quantity of new armor produced by TG, TCS and Figarti in the last two years. Numbers please. FL has produced 2 PZ IV, 1 T-34, 1 M4, and 1 Sd. Kfz. 251. 5 AFVs in the last few years. TCS alone has produced as many AFV as FL; a Sturmtiger, 2 Wirbelwinds 2 Sd. Kfz. 251, 2 Stug IIIs and the Dodge Command Car. 8 AFVs beats 5 AFVs. Plus Figarti produced a numer of repaints of the JS-2, the ISU-152, Tiger I and produced new AFVs the Panther G, The Pershing, the SU-85 and the SU-100. 7 AFVs beats 5 AFVs. Figarti and TCS combined produced 15 new AFVs versus 5 from FL and I have not included any by TG who you also cited.
You lose the bet!

You said new armour not repaints ! Best check your facts as most of them look repaints and old stock to me !

I personally would prefer quality over quantity. But that is just my opinion.

Fl does repaints. A Winter and Normady camo version is two Panzers not repaints. Crew is different too. Two different part numbers, two different products. Figarti may be old stock; but I doubt it as they usually only produce 100 pieces. TCS AFVs cited are all new! Bottom line either TCS or Figarti would beat FL with the number of new AFV products. Combined they would overwhelm FL by 3:1!
