Wonderful looking set. I wonder if it will be equally expensive and to what extent, if any, the final price may be affected by people leaving for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Brad

I hope so.:wink2:

Thank you for posting this info Brad:salute::

These three stand out for me

CO7 British Mtd Officer, EQ6A Maxim Gun & Infantry Carriage $225
Royal Navy Gun Oxen Team (unboxed) 18 pcs $275
CWS4 Russian Seige Battery 6pcs $200

and I wonder what the pieces were that gave this a total of 43

Zulu Wars Rorkes Drift Store House with Soldiers & accessories 43pcs $1,000

Cheers

Martyn:)

Martyn,

Not at all. Glad to help. Don't know if this is much use but here's the photo of the Storehouse from the listing.

Cheers,

Brad

Many thanks Brad. With the boxes, walls, redoubt, shields and other paraphernalia the count would reach 43

Looks like whoever bought it got it for a great price, even with the buyers commission

Cheers

Martyn:)

This is the first time I have seen this type of auction for Trophy figures, selling a set of 6 figures + the box, individually, in separate auctions

http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_n...dkw=&_osacat=2631&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313

Cheers

Martyn:)

I used to see that with K & C; people breaking up sets to get a greater return.

The six figures and the box sold for a combined total of £166, the box fetched £48 on it's own{eek3}

Cheers

Martyn:)

Interestingly, they did not all go to the same buyer. The seller got what he want but the set was broken up in the process.

My Trophy buying days are by and large over. I am grateful I got most of the sets I was after when prices were not so ridiculous.
I miss the old days when you could order any set you wanted at retail.

Here is another worth watching

The very same.
I think the bidders just got a bit over excited last time.

Thanks Damian:salute::

The seller has been selling a lot of Nap sets in multiple groups

Cheers

Martyn:)

I expected this set to fetch a higher final bid.

This price is almost back to 2006/2007 levels.....at least for this set.

Raymond:)

Dear Raymond:

Soon after Trophy officially went out of business the very end of 2006 I noticed that instead of only getting about 50% of original costs on eBay for Trophy sets one could get about 50% MORE than original costs. I would well assume that the price of the eBay sale of January 14, 2012 that you noted sold on eBay at $121.38 USD represents something over a 50% profit based on pre 2006 prices which is not bad. As one can not just buy from current made Trophy sets anymore I would assume that many collectors who like making up displays and dioramas may ignore looking for Trophy sets as one can not depend on getting certain sets to be added on to new displays. I still have a great many Trophy Zulu War sets and a few other type sets, but I am not looking for any more Trophy sets since about 2003.
