Ray Donovan (1 Viewer)

Good opening episode, but this show is always good. No grass growing under the Donovan's feet and Mick, once again, is in the poo. :rolleyes2: -- Al

Al:

This is one of the few shows that doesn't disappoint and it also seems to get better each season.

Liev Schreiber is one of the best actors I have seen and the supporting cast is also incredibly talented.

Anyone who watches this show just knows that tonight's ending was predictable, but at least they didn't stretch it out like there was any question about it. Ray is a riot. He punches first then asks questions. His hands gotta hurt. -- Al

One things I have always liked about the show is the "side" stories.

While I love the main plot this season, I also can't wait to see what happens with Mickey (the scene from last episode with him at the gay beach party was hilarious). I am also very curious as to what will happen with Terry.

I know I have mentioned this before but Eddie Marsan is one of this era's most underrated actors.

With 1 episode left, things have really heated up and gotten more twisted than ever. This show is a lot of fun. Cross, double-cross, plans within plans within plans, millions of dollars in play, bodies everywhere and a huge reckoning on the horizon. -- Al

I have really enjoyed the addition of Alan Alda this season.

Even in a tiny role, he has proven that he is one of the best actors to ever appear on television.

Great finale. Ray is the man, Darryl is a bad a** in the clutch, but Mickey is a real POS and really will deserve what he gets, eventually. -- Al

Al:

Spot on review.

I was pretty sure Smitty was going to die, but not like that!

Well, Mickey isn't going to pay after all. Showtime has cancelled Ray Donovan after 7 seasons. Massive bummer. I really enjoyed this show. -- Al

Truly an idiotic decision, apparently Showtime just blanketly cancelled a lot of shows across the board. They really screwed this one up, the show writers/producers were caught way off guard and had no indication as the plan was to end it next year (most likely end Mickey from what I read).

I blitzed this latest RD series in 3x days this week during my days off, having pre-recorded the entire season. Was fun being able to follow on quickly viewing each episode!

Like everyone else I’m gutted the series has been cancelled, especially with things being left up in the air like that.

I enjoyed the flashbacks and learning more about Rays sister and why she took her life.

Mickey deserves a decent send off in the most dramatic fashion at least. Here’s hoping a producer steps in and carries the series on even if it’s only for one last season!

You guys should have read the Movie/TV News yesterday........

"RAY DONOVAN---Liev Schreiber hinted the cancelled series may be returning, “It seems like your voices have been heard. Too soon to say how or when, but with a little luck and your ongoing support, there will be more Ray Donovan.”'

I saw Jon Voight and Kerris Dorsey at my hotel in Boston last week.

I think they were there to film scenes for the Ray Donovan movie that supposedly ties up the last season and Mickey’s whereabouts.

They better hurry up, Voight ain't getting any younger and people have short memories. This is a show I'd like to see wrapped up, as long as they can do it without beating Ray to a pulp again. That poor guy is a fist magnet. -- Al

Al:

Great post.

It will not take much to tie up the main character’s final fates.

I think a 2 hour long movie is enough time to do that.

Showtime is advertising the Ray Donovan movie for broadcast January 14, 2022. They actually have done a finale, thank goodness. Really looking forward to seeing how this great series wraps up. It was a favorite of mine. -- Al

When I was in Boston back in July they were filming this movie.

I saw Mickey (Jon Voight) and Bridget (Kerris Dorsey) at our hotel multiple times.

It is fantastic news that this great series is going to get a proper ending.
