I just caught the most recent episode. All I can say is that this show is one of the best on TV.

One thing the show has done year in and year out is the addition of new characters who are perfectly cast.

Jason...
yea...
good casting on their characters for sure...

on Lombardozzi...
you want a guy to play the role of a policeman from Boston....
then you get a guy from Boston...
good casting on him...
he did 5 seasons as a policeman on HBO's..."The Wire"...
he was made for this role...

"The Wire"...
hardcore drug crime drama in an urban setting...
if you get a chance...
watch it...
fantastic cast and excellent show...

I get the sense that either Mickey or Bunch will not make it to the next season.
I think the show would miss Mickey. He's such a sleeze. Bunch is just a total loss and seems to be important only as Mickey's crutch/savior. He could go bye-bye and not really cause any story line problems to the show. Mickey has to stay around if only to keep Ray on his toes.:wink2: -- Al

Every season it seems that the show has cameos of actors from past TV shows. This time it is Max Casella who plays an internal affairs cop. He is most famous for playing Vinnie Delpino on the show Doogie Howser, M.D.

A couple of seasons back Dabney Coleman made a guest appearance as did Stacy Keach in another season.

Great episode last night. I can't help but wonder if the girl on Ellis Island was a figment of Ray's imagination?

I enjoyed the episode quite a bit. Mickey is a real hard case, but you got to like the way he never quits. One scheme blows up and he's on to the next one. He's a tough SoB and is a truly formidable enemy. -- Al

Jason....
did not think of that...
but now that you mention it...
I lean on agreeing with you...
I thought she would be his new love interest...
but I guess the mayor to be is gonna handle his physical needs...

Mike:

I am really just guessing, but the way she disappeared made me wonder.

Jason...
I understand...
it also occurred to me that she did disappear very quickly...
plus he had visions of Abby for several episodes earlier...
so unless the mystery girl appears in future episodes...
I'm gonna treat her as a figment of his imagination...

I want to see Terry win 50K...
but I got a feeling he's gonna get thumped...
maybe revert back to his Parkinson's ailments...

Good call PA......maybe she's deceased sister they sometimes mention? She certainly pushed some buttons. I have a feeling we'll be seeing her again in some capacity?:wink2:

Mike/Toddy:

The Abby connection is difficult to deny, glad we are discussing it as your insights make me wonder where this will go.

I've always liked this show but this season in NY it has gotten even better, IMO. About the best thing on the small screen right now. -- Al

Al...

this is an exceptionally good season...but I would say that about any of their seasons...^&grin

they have been nominated for about 20 awards...

but have only won a couple...

I know you're a fan of Jon Voight as Mickey...

two of the awards they won were awarded to him as best supporting actor...

I got an ominous feeling about Terry and his upcoming fight...they have given us too many clues to ignore it...

well...
great episode...

well...
the tremors are back...
I had a feeling Terry was gonna get his brains rattled loose bare knuckle boxing...

anything that can go wrong for the Donovans...
goes wrong...
the whole family is cursed...

Ray is now a family outcast...
get beaten up regularly by Sam's new guy or police.....
locked up in a looney bin...
Terry is sick again...
Mickey is on the run...
Bunch is and always will be a basket case...
he was last seen staring at an empty baby crib...

what a frickin' dark plot...
what a dysfunctional family...

I love this show...^&grin

It seems the one thing that is certain is that someone, most likely Ray at this point, is going to get beaten up every episode. Ray is like that old Timex watch commercial where John Cameron Swayze would say "He takes a lickin', but keeps on tickin' ". Almost too many wild cards in play at this moment, with the big question being 'who gets betrayed this week?'
This season is really involved and is all the more fun for it...you have to pay attention. Can't wait to see Sarandon get hers. The show would be worth watching if only to see what Mickey will cook up next, all the others are gravy. Would kind of like to see Avi show back up. -- Al

Al...

Ray is hatching a plan...
that will absolve Sam from any involvement and get her the prison property...
it will also take Ferrati down...
I have no idea what it is yet...
but I hope it includes him extracting some revenge on Sam's new "thug for hire"...
both for killing the prostitute and slapping Ray around twice while he was drunk...

you know Ray holds grudges as he got revenge on the firemen a few episodes back...

no idea what's in store for Bunchy...
but I hope Terry turns out okay...

Mickey...he's a total clusterflub...
the King of Hijinks and Mischief...
no idea what's next for him...
other than I'm sure he's not fleeing to Vietnam...

great series...
hope it continues to stay strong...

my favorite episode of all time is "Ding"...
where shaky Terry gets forced into a prison fight with the big Aryian...
and crushes his face with a barbell weight set...
screaming over and over...
"Who's a ding?...Who's a ding now?"

Mike, the guy who plays Sam's hired thug is an actor by the name of Chance Kelly. He's been in a lot of stuff but I remember him from several guest shots on Law and Order, Rescue Me, House of Cards, and Generation Kill. He makes a great bad guy. -- Al

well...I hope Ray knocks the smirk off his face with his Louisville slugger...between the cops...the firemen...and this guy...Ray has been getting some serious beat downs...
