Exciting times I think. There has been so much discussion about prices and the subsequent influence on collectors that it was perhaps inevitable that one of the big companies would respond in such a manner. Criticisms of rising costs and simultaneous demands for better quality are akin to criticising a meal for being inedible and being served in too small a portion. Something had to change. K&C changed the game once before and it is good to see that after thirty years the company can still show a capacity to think laterally.
Any move that offers some relief from rising prices AND a possible appeal to new collectors can only be good for the Hobby, for collectors as a whole, and, most importantly, will no doubt be good for me. A growing Hobby brings a range of benefits. Even those who do not buy a single one of the figures may enjoy a flow on effect to their part of the hobby. If nothing else it might help those who moan about the death of the hobby and the rising costs to remember how much fun collecting can be.
