Can somebody PM me some details? I don't know who it is & I don't see any $765 Arnhem sale on completed listings. What am I missing?

Same thing here. I have no idea who this person is and would like to know so I can steer clear.

Well, I can do something. I can use the ignore setting for this person and make him a non-member as far as I am concerned.:cool:

I was told recently on the forum that there was no secondary market for KC products in a "recession." Guess you learn something new every day.

I would be just as incensed as toyking if I were to receive a piece of Arnhem debris for 765.00.

The transaction is between buyer and seller on eBay.

He should lodge a dispute with eBay/PayPal (for what it is worth) and demand a refund.

How can you blacklist a member from this forum for something transacted beyond forum jurisdiction ?

Yours, glossman.

True, but if you do that, you won't know what new products are in the works from K & C because you know as well as I do Andy pays close attention to his wants list and makes just about everything this certain person who shall go nameless asks for.........;)

Talk about a ripoff!!!! toyking could have used that money for ......Some iTlailans, and ARMOURED cars!!!anD a aFRIcA MORtar teAM...and a NEw Pak 38, and more ITALIANS!!!!!!!!!the list could go on and on................

....................................................................................................

Some of us have particular series we collect, or are trying to complete. The eariler sets can be difficult to obtain which explains the prices they can command.

Its all a matter of personal taste.

I hope buying on ebay is not turning out like Las Vegas and having to gamble on if the listing/description is correct, until you get the item.:cool:

I believe that there is a identity hint/clue in your comment Halo ;):D

King & Country has always had a strong secondary market. It is difficult to determine how the current economic situation will affect the entire market in general. If sales slow down, and production doesn't it could seriousl affect current items.

Older classic pieces will probably maintain a high demand.

For that sort of money and you know who and where he is i would be paying him a visit, just to say thanks for the exceptional service and product provided............

I have been lucky enough to be warned by other members of the forum about trading with him through the forum, didn't know his ebay handle. If you can't figure it out just think of the most annoying Poster on the forum! He apparently handles his ebay business in the same manner.

just to clarify i bought this from the forum member on ebay what i meant about the forum was he does sell his goods through the forum time to time and good members should be aware of him because he new i was a member and look what i got total smackdown.

I just had a look on Ebay, first time in ages I've done so.

The seller has a 100% positive feedback and it does say on both of his auctions you have a money back guarantee, so perhaps the buyer should look into that.

Oh and I caugh this one; shipping for the jeep is 33.00.

33.00 for shipping a jeep?

Not to mention when I typed in King & Country for a search, quite a few of the items are listed as K & C but are not K & C, plus quite a few items listed as buy it nows are current production pieces and the buy it now prices are inflated by 10% to 20% in afew cases.

And people are bidding over and above retail on some items.

Boy, PT Barnum really was right.....................
The retail price of a collectible is valid only at the moment it was purchased. Once the collectible comes into the buyer’s possession, its value is linked to what is called the secondary market. Once a collectible is purchased, most of the costs associated with the retail price (i.e. advertising, production cost, shipping cost, etc.) must be deducted from the retail cost to determine the object’s immediate value on the secondary market, thus, retail cost is not equivalent to secondary market resale value. Depending on several different factors, individuals, auctioneers, and secondary retailers may sell a collectible for more, the same, or less than what they originally paid for it. These factors include, but are not limited to, condition, age, supply, and demand.

There is no secondary market for an item unless someone is willing to buy it, and an object's value is whatever the buyer is willing to pay for it. Industry leaders believe that the secondary market is important for several reasons: primarily to allow experienced collectors to upgrade their collections, to stimulate the market and encourage new collectors, and to provide a means for monetary appreciation. To upgrade a collection, a collector may wish to dispose of things they no longer enjoy to produce the capital to buy other things. To stimulate the market, collectors may obtain some good quality pieces that have been traded in the past. They have an opportunity to learn the history of the hobby by owning some of the items that have been favorites in the past. Another reason is to make money, by selling an item with appreciated value.

Toyking,
email me and I will personally help you go after your money if you have never filed a claim. It is very easy and I can help you very quickly if you need it and I am happy to do so.

I really do feel for you as no one should put up with this.

Tom

Hi Guys,

As sorry a state of affairs as this is. As much as I would like to do something to the individual involved there is nothing that can be done on the Forum because the transaction took place on ebay and no rules were broken here. Sorry. ToyKing has taken this as far as he can here and is seeking to address this issue via ebay which is all he can do and if he is smart he will leave feedback the reflects on the character of the individual involved. Again guys sorry that there isnt anything we can do about it here.

How do you that? I would like to ignore or delete him. Now that I know I will never deal with this person.

Thanks
Andy

Hi All,

If there is collectively understanding here that shoddy treatment has been meted out from one forum member to another, then the nature of that transaction should be made transparent, as well as the identity of both parties involved. Otherwise, the fear and uncertainty created here will affect all other potential transactions on eBay, which is not then fair to the other forum members who trade on eBay.

Hi toyking,

Thanks very much for the clarification.

Your first post was a little misleading.

If I were in you place, I would have gone ballistic.

Perhaps, you should take up tdubel's offer to help.

Yours, glossman.

So a shady character can just shift from one place to another? How 'bout a rule where a member can be banned if he or she commits such a transgression through another medium, with a right of appeal to the moderators?

Dave

Toyking, I'm so sorry to hear that you have been victimized by this evildoer. So it seems that there are no safe places from the predators of society. I nearly entered into a trading transaction with the same guy who ripped you off. I was privately warned by respected forum members to enter into transactions with this character at my own risk. It is nice to know there are many good people out there looking out for us. Unfortunately, ebay transactions w/ this criminal are beyond the scope of the goodness of humanity found here. I hope you discover some form of recourse to recover your loss, and I hope your tainted collecting experience doesn't deter you from the pleasures of this hobby entirely. This guy needs to be publicly called and cast out:mad:.
