Mike (mestell) and I are forming an informal group of collectors of K&C's USN/USMC in China during the decades of the 1920s and 1930s. We would like to call the group The Sand Pebbles. To start things off I am creating this thread for collectors of this subject and its related figures from the Streets of Hong Kong to display their collections of single figures, sets, or dioramas. All are welcome to participate. Mike and I are hooked on this subject and we hope anyone else so minded will join in and post here.

The shore patrol figures are just great aren't they Randy? Its not a China street scene without a moon gate either. I should be getting the K&C retired HK074 Moon Gate with tomorrow's UPS delivery - Really looking forward to getting it. Nice photo of Li Po with a "bird in hand" ;)

A US Navy steam launch arrives at a treaty port pier on the Yangtze River, while two Shore Patrol members wait to receive dispatches and mail for the United States Counselate and Naval District HQ.

Great setups, guys! Here are a few pictures of my SOHK display. So far only one USN figure walking down the street. Someday, there will be more!

Its great hearing from you Youngster and thank you so much for sharing the photos of your SOHK collection. You have a very nice looking display. I have just recently started collecting this range and I am finding it very pleasing to the eye.

Certain areas of the treaty ports were off limits to military personnel. In this photo, a shore patrol team stand as a reminder that entry into this part of town is forbidden . . . . . . . . . . Mike

This thread just gets better and better...the figures and structures are gorgeous, and I am really impressed with the imaginative dioramas.

Won't be long before you really need that gunboat, Mike.

It's a good thread and very nice pictures and story developing here. And that Sun gate beautifull! I alsways regret that I missed that one. Maybay one dy, who knows.

I must admit I'm a secret collector of SoHK. If I order the my usual lines I always order an extra SoHK piece:) and that's not because my daughter likes them:D.

regards and keep on going.

Richard.

"Night Shine"

A British "Tar" just arrived in Hong Kong gets his shoes shined under the lamplight.

From an album belonging to Margaret Livesy, daughter of Robert Livesy, a Royal Navy seaman who served in China in the 1920s and is pictured in this period photo.
