Spain are playing well, even when losing to Switzerland they were playing fine, it was just one of those days when they might have stayed on the pitch for 5 hours and score zip, it just wouldn't happen:eek:. I hope they go forward and if Portugal goes forward too I hope we can avoid them and play Chile instead:D.

Oz,I understand some have been calling some of the players not really French and lacking passion,you'll understand I am choosing my words carefully because feelings in France as you can imagine are running very high right now,pride and passion seems to have ben replaced by shame and chaos.

Have you seen the video of the training ground bust up?.Things are clearly not good in the camp.

Are you saying you want Portugal to possibly play Spain in the next round :) instead of Chile or Switzerland? You will probably need a win to avoid them.

I see, a touchy subject then :eek:

Why would they think Soccer/Football would be spared from globalisation? I guess cash is more important to some players than their nationality and they feel free to swap to whatever country offers them the most money, similar to the Olympics.

I am not sure who will pass first and second on this group, Spain and Swiss has 3 points so this will be decide this Friday June 25th. Interesting to see all matches on the 3rd round will be played on the same time, so no team could know who won.

Friday will be a nice Soccer day....

Spain need a result; a tie will not do because you have to expect that the Swiss will win. Spain currently have a one goal lead on the Swiss but have one goal less than Chile. If both Spain and the Swiss win that means all three will have 6 points each and the best goal differential will decide which two go. Could get interesting. For example, if Spain wins 1 nil and the Swiss 2 nil, Chile would go home as both Spain and Switzerland would be plus two and Chile plus one. Chile will want to play for a tie, hopefully a scoreless one. However, if Spain score first that could make things interesting. With things being what they are, David Villa's missed pk could loom large.

Ales may be right. I'm sure FIFA has let the refs know that when it comes to the big countries (Spain, England, etc.), give them the benefit of the doubt on calls.

Could be, I have noted that some of the Aussie commentators have suggested that the refs seem somewhat biased towards countries where Soccer has a longer/stronger FIFA history.
 
The whole tournament has had some terrible decisions by the refs,Ka Ka's sending off was outrageous.

Well looks like my 2-1 to France prediction was a crock!;)
