Konrad

Between your British Empire and WWI collections you are amassing what will likely be one of the most impressive collections of glossy figures out there.
It is obvious that you have inspired the artistry and creativity of 2 major players in this hobby. Keep those gorgeous figures and sets coming. Each of your posts provides its own "shock & awe". I think there will be a resurgence in glossy collecting due to the great figures currently being created in that style. Your collection is now the benchmark for the rest of us to aspire to.

Great addition to your collection Konrad. You must be very proud of your Empire collection.

Thanks to all for the nice comments.
Much appreciated.

Hi Konrad,

When I view your photos of these figures, words like, "Magnificent, Stunning, and Incredible" instantly occur to me. Yet, none of these words fully capture the beauty of these miniature masterpieces. Of all the people I know, I think you are the perfect person to own these figures. I am very proud for you. My heartiest congratulations!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat {bravo}}

I don't know how I missed this update on your figures Konrad - but just wanted to say congratulations on your latest commision. I also agree with all of the superlatives for the figures. Pure pleasure to look at - by a couple of masters of the art............ johnnybach

Hi Johnny,
I just posted the update in the evening hours of November 7th, so you did not miss it for long :)
Glad to know you like them too.
Konrad

A good old German tradition :wink2: is to unwrap Christmas presents on Christmas Eve and I am steadily holding on to that tradition ^&grin
Among the findings under the tree was this fine addition to my "British Empire" collection.
Painted by John, here we have a lovely little vignette by Yeomanry Miniatures. I believe that the name is "Coming home".
A trooper of the 24th Foot arrives back home to finally get to hold the baby in his arms, that was born while he was fighting overseas.
His boy is trying to see if the helmet fits yet?
Here are two photos to show what I am talking about.

Sorry to correct you Konrad but this set is one of mine.:) Happy Christmas.

Martin.

Oh, I am sorry, Martin :redface2:
Merry Christmas to you and yours too :)
Really didn't mean to get that mixed up.
Yes, I actually knew that it is from you, 'cause I remember John describing a few sets and figures of yours, and my immediate response to him was, that I liked this set only from his description already.
Glad you caught this right away. I got a little too excited tonight to get that straight.
Here are two more views of this fine vignette.

Konrad: I enjoyed the article on John (Beating Retreat) and the pictures of your figures you submitted to Toy Soldier Collector Magazine issue 45. Nice article on John and you have some fine figures. John

My issue came today. You will probably get it any day. John

It's been a long time, since I posted anything new for my "British Empire" collection.
So, today it is my great pleasure to present the latest addition, which was delivered just about 2 hours ago.
Had to get the camera out right away.
John (beating retreat) again created a base, like he did for the "Household Cavalry" set a while ago.
The scene shows an officer, trooper and farrier of the 11th Hussars sometimes in the 1880's, discussing possible issues with the officer's horse.
The scene is enhanced with the addition of an anvil and a fountain.
The 54mm kit (3 figures and the horse) is from Yeomanry Miniatures and sculpted by Alan Caton.
Please have a look at the pictures and you will know, why I am very happy and proud about this great addition ^&grin

That's another beauty Konrad - look at the depth of finish in that horse - well done John:smile2: jb

Konrad, you have a collection to be envious of. Your Firth figures are all superb. -- Al

Thanks, Mark, JB and Al.
Let me add a few more pics that show the wonderful detail :smile2:
While they are in a glossy finish, every figure I get from John, actually has a real face, an expression.
This is what I like most about them.
Here are some extreme enlargements of the figures.
Don't forget that they are 54mm or 1/32 in scale :wink2:
