What a beautiful figure Konrad and of course beautifully painted as well. John is a master with a brush. BMSS has some very nice castings.

Absolutely lovely figure Konrad. Just love that gloss finish on these. Glad you were able to procure one of these kits to add to your line up. Looking forward to see what's next.

What a first-class piece! And the painting is exceptional. there are some pieces you just have to come back and look at over and over...this is one. Nice find! :)

Thank you, guys,
this is one figure I am particular proud and happy to have.
Konrad

Konrad,

A good choice of figure there, John's painting style certainly shows off the level and quality of sculpting.

Very nice indeed. :)

Jeff

Congratulations on the figure, Konrad. It is beautiful. John is a master artist. A great figure with a superior finish. A wonderful combination. -- Al

Hi Konrad,

You have every reason to be proud of this figure! The figure is displayed in a most creative pose that is very much complimented by John's painting. Congratulations on acquiring another very special figure. Your collection of British Empire figures is of exceptional quality!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Another nice mounted figure Konrad. Thanks for the pictures of your latest addition. John

Great piece, this looks more like art than a toy soldier. Maybe toy soldier is not that correct an expression anymore... I can almost feel the tiredness of the horseman and his horse, who said glossy figures can not be extremely detailed and realistic?

Regards Konrad and congrats on the good hunting,
Paulo

Hi Konrad,

I echo what others have said about your latest addition to this collection. Do you know when the next instalment is due and might there be more mounted figures soon that given that excellent paint finish by John!?

Regards
Martin

Thanks Martin,
it will possibly be about 10 days from now before I can update with new arrivals and yes, more mounted figures to come.
Konrad

Well, I was right with my 10-day guess in the previous post. Today I received my new additions for the "British Empire" collection.
To start, here's an Officer of the Lothian and Berwickshire Yeomanry, 1907.
A superb quality 54mm casting by Squadron Miniatures. Here are some pictures.

And the mounted figure this month is of an Officer of the Kapurthala State Force Lancers, 1897.
This is also a Squadron Miniatures casting and I hope you like the "superior gloss" painting as much as I do. This is another excellent job done by John.
I very much appreciate the opportunity to collect these miniatures.
Konrad

As we have come to expect from John these are exquisite !!!! I particularly like the casting of the horse.

Two very nice figures for your collection Konrad.

Is there a website for Squadron Miniatures?

Scott,
I think the Squadron range had been taken over by Tradition.
If you go to www.traditionoflondon.com, you will find an icon on the left side of the homepage for 54mm Squadron castings.
A lot of beautiful castings there from one of the premier sculptors in the busines, Alan Caton.

Jeff

On the subject of Alan Caton, apparently he is a very nice man. ;)

WOW, the dapple of the grey is so delicatley done in this fine figures, John has really captured the 'Spirit of India' in the wondeful example of his mastery.

Well done,

John
