The great crusade (1 Viewer)

Besides all of the prior nonsense we have had to address.....What has amazed us is the vast majority of feedback we have gotten so far has been "How do you do that".

We would like to address that inquiry, but it is a vast subject. It was suggested that if we do a DVD, that there would be an instructional section.

We are open to that idea, and would appreciate input on that. I am throwing that concept out knowing that there will not be any feedback here, but no one will be able to say say that we didn't offer.

I will address some decisions we are struggling with.

To use photo backdrops or not....They do look great, but it is sort of cheating. We are currently airbrushing our backdrops and adding lighting to give an outdoor effect.

To film outside or not...It looks great but again it is sort of cheating.

We use cigars for smoke ... I guess that is simple enough.

Other than that everything else is mostly custom built...with the additional use of Hobby Bunker, Figarti and Frontline buildings.

Our biggest decision though will be whether or not to continue on this Forum....Nick and I are discussing this matter as we speak......We are starting to feel uncomfortable and very misunderstood, and we are not here to irritate the masses. Everywhere else we are very well received and it is very rewarding.

At this time Nick and I are leaning towards departing the Forum....Those who follow us should know, is that once the Great Crusade starts, there will be a new Episode every 6 to 8 weeks, and plenty of info on our site and other Forums.....Also the teasers you have been shown are nothing compared to that we really have lined up for the production.

We will give our final disposition shortly.......

Maybe Nick and I should try show business next !.......We were both in successful rock bands when we were younger !

I didn't know Kip Winger was into toy soldiers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1:D:D:D

I used smoke bombs for smoke effects myself- though I don't do them inside my home.

Great lookin pics!! Keep em coming!!

Boy our threads do have some strange twists....Kip Winger !......I saw a pic of Nick, he looked like the bass player in Van Halen, and I tried my best to look and play like Jimmy Page.....Wish I could play like him. Well the Great Crusade will start in England, and so did Led Zep ! ! !

I think withdrawing your dios etc from the site would be a great shame IMO
Mitch

Nick=Michael Anthony, I think he could pull that off with longer hair.

All that talent and a train wreck of a band, now they've dragged Eddie's kid into the group, more line up changes than I can count............

I agree 100% with this.
Mark

See, there you go Alex, Mitch and Mark say don't go, the M & M boys don't want you to leave, so hang in there for their sake, have a heart.................

Thing is its obvious there is some acromony between firebat and warrior and, on a site like this its obvious why these things can happen but, far from me to look like I am wanting any form of censorship but, I do think we should be allowed to enjoy the dio's without all the stupid little digs it spoils the threads they are on IMO
Mitch

There were two main reasons for BSP to post on this Forum.

1- To entertain

2- For creative feedback

We have not had a good result in either category, due to the behind the scenes business implications and cliques.

Yes, we could have used the scorched earth policy, and gone step by step and told you all about the horrific underbelly of this hobby, but what benefit would that have. We would probably have been painted as martyrs anyway.

It would be like telling a child there is no Santa. So we have decided to take our leave. Everything that was available to our friends here will be on our site. And we will also post on the kinder and gentler Toy Soldier Chat Forum.

We would like to say it has been fun, but it has not.

Just watch yourselves out there, many of those who seem to be your friends may not. If you open your eyes wide and take it all in, you will see it.

Actually Mr. Jazz we would appreciate if you would remove the Battle Scene Productions, and The Great Crusade threads from the Forum Alex and Nick

Firebat...

Thats rather sad and unfortunate though, I don't know why you ask Mr Jazz to remove threads he is not a moderator.

The only losers would seem to be the many collectors who like looking at your creations on the forum.

Best Wishes and see you on your website
Mitch

He's probably not aware that I used to be a moderator but that I'm not anymore.

As far as them taking their leave, my experience is that people come and go. It's just a fact of life.

Moreover, as I went through the thread again, all the comments about the great Crusade were complimentary. However, Alex did seem to go out of his way to say that he is misunderstood or that people don't like him, etc. Why I have no idea. I'll leave that to others to come up with their reasons.

I thought it was a hobby all a bit too political and weird for me
Mitch

As usual Mitch, you put 2 and 2 together and got 22.

Alex and I speak quite often at the various toy soldier shows, we laugh and kid and joke and talk about many things, no acromony exists, so you are wrong.

As in totally.

He and I go back many years, but since you've only been here since May of this year (hard to believe considering you've got close to 4,000 posts in that short amount of time), you wouldn't know that, you just ASSUMED there was a problem between us and we all know what happens when you ASSUME, right Mitch?

And his partner Nick and I had a great business relationship several years ago, he used to sell me his buildings and I in turn would sell those to my customers, they all love Nicks work.

Over time Nick got very busy with custom projects for customers and for his dioramas he creates for the various manufacturers, so he was unable to offer his terrific buildings to me any longer, which is perfectly understandable.

So again Mitch; you are wrong.

Stupid little digs; hope that is not directed at me.

Alex and I exchange comments and we go back and forth with sarcastic comments, it's an American East Coast/New Jersey/Boston form of humor.

Guess that form of humor does not register with you.

Too bad, that is your loss.

Just like Alex leaving here is a loss; that is his choice.

I cannot even be bothered with your rot. I even have less interest in your allegations about assumptions and, again, and rather childishly the small mind brigade bring up number of posts I have submitted dear me change the record or try and get a new one.

I get humour, I just don't see humour in some of the posts about such a good friend or, from some of the off forum comments that have been made. Everytime there has been comments about Firebat there seems and its very easy to ascertain certain friends are at the point and, it may be six months but, I have not seen many other of their good mates doing such stuff but, as you say he is your mate.

Some really just cannot help themselves but, as long as you feel you are right its just not bothering me in the slightest what your opinion is or is not.
Mitch

Although Battle Scene Productions sounds like a business name, we are NOT a business, so we are not concerned with profit. We are here to bring entertainment to the collector. The Great Crusade will contrast many manufacturers products in a common setting. This will influence their purchasing.

So we do not have to play the game, that makes us very frightening to those who do play the game. When provoked, we will tell it like it is, because we cannot betray the collectors, many of them don't know what goes behind the scenes of this hobby and how ugly it can get.....So please do not provoke us any more, and we will get back to doing what we do best. We are nearing the end of our patients.

If THE GREAT CRUSADE flops because it does not get support from those who don't like our attitude, and don't even realize we are on their side. At least we can sleep at night, because we are truthful, and we are not just here to make a buck on the collector. That is what seems to drive those who assault us....... Pleasant Dreams !

A salute from some of we non game players not of the inner circle.

Yes well, it is certainly NOT just his opinion.;)

thought it had been a while. dear me! dear me!. Must have got bored telling people how to post critique.
Mitch

Gentlemen

Nick and I would like to formally thank many of you for all of the kind words and support you wrote us both publicly and privately. I am so happy you see clearly who the "players" are and who participate here only for the almighty dollar, while pretending to be your friends.

We are very pleased that you do understand that we do what we do for your enjoyment, and YES, we do acknowledge those who support us, and hope you patronize them.

We thought our mission was lost and contorted by those who found the need to malign us...but you did know where we were coming from, despite the efforts of those despicable persons.

Our support is the strongest it has ever been, both in our overall popularity, the much elevated traffic on our website and with our official sponsors. I have to laugh in the face of a particular dealer that wrote me ADVISING me that we were nobody and had no influence in this hobby. And that this Forum is 'Where it is at"...We have more new visits on our site in two weeks than the total membership of this forum...we are on the point, bringing new blood into this hobby, and BUSINESS to both those who do and don't support us, and we are happy to do so.

Nick and I were public servants (NOT BUSINESSMEN) we are team players....We look out for our brothers....and we are once again very thankful that many of you understand us.....We will now return to the kinder and gentler environment of our own website, The Toy Soldier Chat and other venues we participate in with surprisingly no conflict and viciousness....Good luck in the New Year and get ready for THE GREAT CRUSADE.......
