Received this piece yesterday by courier. A really heavy piece of kit {eek3} (thankfully I got free shipping from my UK supplier).

Nicely constructed and looks the part when photographed with a few trees and figures. The roof is a fine snug fit (not always the way with these pieces of polystone/resin) The barn doors also slip easily on to two lugs which are fixed to the main body of the piece and swing freely but are not too loose. Comes with the ladder, a rake and pitchfork.

All in all I consider it a good purchase and a dio piece I'm sure I will make good use of.

Good purchase Bob - i'd like to see an action scene with some desperate defenders repelling an onslaught on the barn!

As always, very nicely photographed Bob. I really like my barn also. I am currently using it as the center piece for a field hospital scene. This will be a very versatile set.

Hi Kirk

I picked him up some years ago now from a little shop in Gettysburg along with the other Reb in the shot who's patting the dog-No names on the bases but the boxes they came in if I remember correctly stated "Gettysburg Soldiers". Which most probably was the shop's name at the time.

Nicely posed figures but take note though they both got a full repaint when I got them home as the original finish was pretty darn awful.

Another of your classic settings and photographs Bob...........Joe

Beautiful picture Bob :salute:::salute::

The scene looks superb, thanks.

I have heard that the hinges that affix onto the doors is very delicate. Nothing that a bit of super glue wouldn't fix, but have you had any issues???

Hey Reb, great scene. wonderful diorama. your grass looks fantastic, is that a mat or did you do that yourself?

Great photographs and setup as usual Reb. Always inspiring! I just returned from Gettysburg and Antietam 2 days ago, and my barn was waiting at the door. I just opened it up and have to say I really like it a lot. Now, I just have to find a space big enough to display it. I am using it for a Union field hospital and want to mix in a hospital flag and a few tents and other accessories.

Thanks for the comments guys-the barn really is an impressive piece of dio kit.

Gustav-it's actually a JG Min grass mat that I have butchered to get a more realistic look of tufted grass and soil-Thought an old barn would have had a lot of traffic going in and out-so I shaved some of the grass into a clumpy look-it now fits for what I wanted.

Having said that I bought a new style mat from John yesterday at the London TS show which almost imitates (only better) what I did to the one in these pictures. He calls it a grass and soil mat and can also supply a tub of plastic soil (that matches the mat exactly) allowing you to effectively cover the stands of your figures. Another good purchase

Reb
