The Death of Gordon? (spoiler alert . . . he lives, thanks to the Gatling Gun and the two armored cars) . . .

Woow, Gordon not only is tipping the balance by a timely time worp show up of some armoured cars plus a substantial fire power from a Royal Navy contingent with a gatling gun and Scottish Regiment....
If we exclude these and focus on the original set up, it is a very nice dio of Gordon´s quarters and his last minutes......;)

Here's a small contribution from me Luiz.

It's my ALMOST completed pair of Indian Army elephants and gun-team of the Royal Artillery in North West India - just before the turn of the Century (c.1890). I now have the chain necessary to connect my pair of jumbo's to the gun - but am currently not in the same country - so haven't connected them up yet.

My model is made up from several maufacturers/suppliers. The Elephants are from Tradition of London; - the gun team and mule are from Dorset Soldiers - whilst the mounted Officer is riding a repaired and modified re-cast of an old Britains figure. jb

And here's another group of Gordon Highlanders on Foreign Service for Queen and Country.

Again, these are somewhat modified recasts of old Britains figures - collected over time - but painted to look the same. jb

Lovely charge.......That is,... if a charge would ever be lovely{sm4}specially if you are facing the business end of the bayonets.....
The charge and the way the soldiers are set gives a great sense of the amount of action and energy being released against the poor Egyptians.....no wonder they all ran when they saw the angry Jocks coming up against them.....

You may gather - I'm not all that good at Diorama's - but if you liked those Gordons - how about this Scots Mounted Band and Escort .

Again, I painted these to look as they might have been, just before the turn of the 19th Century,(my favourite period).

The Royal Scots Greys Band - with Colour and Escort - circa 1895.

Made up and painted - over time - from modified castings supplied by Dorset . jb

Sentaapua,
For you too, by the way this January has been extremely hot and dry in my corner of the country ---- I assume that your corner is even more......great weather for outdoors BBQ and pool:eek::eek:....
Thanks a lot! I guess that the Victorian bug has bitten quite a few of us in the Forum{sm3}{sm3}
Add to that the keen interest in History...and you get crazy when you see all these great collections shown here....
Cheers

Luiz,
It’s been unusually hot and dry, great outdoors weather indeed, but frankly even worrying, since this is supposed to be our rain season... :rolleyes2: We’re all wondering what the effects current weather will have by the middle of the year, when the dry season hits us with full force… {eek3} Anyway, out for BBQ’s and pool! On the other front I’ll be starting the new addition (“puxadinho” as I call it…) to the home by late February and hope to have everything ready by late May, when finally my collection will have an adequate display area. You are invited to come see it firsthand! :wink2: Um abraço, Carlos

It's a "Standard" Jonny, not a "Colour" (just being picky:)) I'm with you on the turn of the century uniforms.
