The Walking Dead, season 3 and Comicbook Men........ (3 Viewers)

I'm not looking for a Romero action film every episode, the writing in the last episode was horrible, between the governor driving around chasing Andrea honking his horn, then showing up at the building Andrea was in, then he's overrun with walkers, only to show up at the split second Andrea was to reveal herself to Rick and grab her and stick her in the back of his truck.

Idiotic on a number of levels.

His character is totally played out, I really don't want to watch him torture Andrea Sunday night, just kill the POS and get it over with.

And yes, they need to leave the prison and Woodbury respectively and find new digs.

Yes George, I really don't want to see her tortured or even the threat. The scenes where Glenn and Maggie were tortured made me ill and there was no resolution (yet) against Meryl and the Guv. We are supposed to hate them of course.

Agree about the town and prison. Our heroes need to get back on the road, get movement going again, and start looking for other survivors that might be working on a cure like the CDC was early on. Meet new, interesting zombies, and kill them. -- Al

Yeah I'd agree, the whole 'them and us' thing between the prison & town is becoming tedious now and slowed things right down......I know it's getting bad when the Mrs's starts to nods off while watching it.....{sm5}

What is far fetched is that they never miss their mark, they must be the best shots in history.^&grin
Mark

Agreed, head shots everytime, except for the new guy on the tire wall in the town.

The walkers are slowing down and are easier to kill, there are less and less sources of fresh food for them it appears.

No doubt this is one of if not the number one most favorite show of mine on tv at the moment, but sometimes the writing leaves me scratching my head; granted, you can't hit a home run everytime, the next two weeks should be interesting.

The Walkers are definitely a sideline threat now. They are only dangerous in large numbers, when you are unarmed and / or caught completely unaware.

I would think the characters would want more data. Like how long after someone dies before they "turn". Can a walker survive indefinitely without food, water.? Do they ever sleep? Potty? Is there a pecking order within walker groups? How good is sense of smell, hearing? Do Walkers prefer their former environments, or do they just wander aimlessly? Could they be trained like rats ala pavlov, ie rewarded with food for being "good"?

Next two weeks should be good. The Governor needs to meet an even more gruesome end than the one we thought Lori had given him. I'm not sure what that is. Traveling pet of Micheonnes?

Those who expect a Romero action film each hour will be disappointed.

Ok, that episode basically was a one hour Romero action film; one of the best so far this season.

Great ending too; no spoilers, but it was a great ending.

Next week should be epic.

Poor (insert name of dead main character), he's been through a lot and now he's gone...........

Really enjoyed this episode. Loved the shopping for the engagement ring sequence. The ending surprised me once again. Got to hand it the writers as they keep true to the motto 'No character is bigger than the story'. Too bad the season is all but done. At least I can watch baseball while awaiting season 4. ^&grin -- Al

A great episode, can't wait till next week!! I smell revenge of the largest magnitude !

I am sure we will be left hanging though.

Scott,
Not sure if you caught the coming attractions for next week, but they showed a shot of Andrea in the chair looking bloody, looks like they are going there with this sadly..............

Agree, this was one of the better episodes. Anytime they knock off a major character it's going to be a big deal. It takes a lot of time and effort to get viewers to care about the characters. So sending one off to the unhappy hunting ground is notable. Next week should be fun, but if they don't follow up with some resolution with the Guv it may be a major let down. Looking forward to the season finale or as they used to say in promoting '80s horror films "who will survive and what will be left of them?"

Could be George, but sometimes those coming attractions are head fakes, too.

That said, I would think that the producers would be loathe to 'off' the Governor before finding the Grimes Gang (GG) another antagonist or at least defining a new objective for them. The Walkers will always be there as a driver, of course, but the show has always been about more than just that.

I am curious as to the remarkable little effort shown toward procuring essentials such as food, clean water, fuel for vehciels, etc. Those efforts would command considerable attention "in reality" and leave less time for warring against fellow survivors. But perhaps green bean growing does not make for exciting tv!

I def think we might see a rather pi$$ed off side of Daryl in the last episode of the season. His blood lust will easily exceed anything the Governor has expressed. Better watch that one remaining eye, Guv! Daryl could also show irritation at some of the GG (ie Glenn) for not being more welcoming toward his brother, and thus perhaps driving him toward his sacrifice.

Anyone else wondering how Meryl managed to jump start a car that had been sitting without running for months? Don't know of any car batteries that are that good. Maybe some future developement of the Enegizer Bunny's, but no current makes I know of. Don't know if they will wrap up the guv'ner situation. Not like the writers to wrap up without leaving a cliff-hanger type situation for a hook. As he is close to being insane, maybe the guv'ner will disappear in the finale and return sometime in the future at the head of a zombie/slave army bent on world domination. -- Al

Meryl has magic redneck car powers.:wink2:

Here at work we think that maybe Darryl may blame Michonne for the death of his brother. Guess we will see what happens next week.

It will be interesting to see where Darryl's anger is aimed. Personally, I would blame Rick for the death of Meryl. Rick let it be known that he was going to take the Guv'ner's offer, then started to re-think his decision, but too late to prevent the action-oriented Meryl from carrying out Rick's initial decision. This whole mess is on Rick's head. I would think Michonne might want a word with Rick, as well. If not for Meryl's sudden reversal, Michonne would be the next person tied to the Guv'ner's chair. I like Rick, but he is where the buck stops in this upcoming string of 'disagreements'. -- Al

I think Daryl will blame the Guv for his brother's misfortune and bring the wrath down on him. The big question is whether any of the major characters get taken out. It would be hard to believe Rick's group could take the Guv out without some casualties.

The teaser to next week's episode shows the Guv'ner's group invading the prison just to find that it appears to be empty of Rick and gang. Maybe they flew the coop or maybe it is an ambush, by either Rick's people or walkers left in possesion of the interior. -- Al

Remember that thanks to Merle some of his best men have now been killed.
