Lt.,
I know these are Trophy Zulus from Mikemiller1955. Were they painted by Trophy in matte or were the "tampered" with? They look similar to Frontline above the torso. Mike

Mike they are Trophy Gloss set spray painted by Mikemiller 1955 using KRYLON"S Matte Finish/1311 and came out extremely well done and look great. He also spary painted the three figures that go with the Gatling Gun. Len Taylor of Trophy did provide matte finish sets when special order for some of his loyal customers....The Lt.

I keep being amazed by guys who do away with gloss. I don't have the balls to do that. I should .glosscoat my WB xmas in Natal set. That one should be gloss but it's matte. So it would probably justify it. Figures still look great though (both the WB set in Natal as well as the matte Trophy's)

Mike, still love your water. Wonderful boat too.

Joachim,

As always, thanks for the accolades! I too would have preferred the Christmas in Natal in gloss, but it goes on the mantel every year now anyway. I will NOT tamper with it by going glossy, for fear of imploding the space-time continuum . How many sets were made, 200? That is a nice special number of folks to celebrate Christmas with! Mike

Men from the HMS Shah have supplies for the Lt.. Upon hearing the devastating new of Isandhlwana, the Captain of HMS turned around from a homeward journey, against orders, to lend some much needed help to Lord Chelmsford by landing a several hundred bluejackets, Gatling guns and artillery near Durban. This launch crew has supplies on board and is looking for a dart through the surf to reach the beach on the Natal Coast
(Pedigree-repainted Dorset crew from Crimea series and carved out ex-sailing hull) The ratings from the Shah were the only members of the Naval Brigade in the Zulu War to wear straw tennet hats with the ship name stitched on a blue wrap around the rim. Mike

Sorry about the late post. Love those Dorset figures. Wish they had an outlet in the US. I am enjoying all the boats popping up here and there. Nice work Mike.

Back to the thread.

I'll be at OTSN Hunting fer ZULU"S among other things. I think I have enough 24th foot but on the lookout for more warriors. You guys wont cringe if I find glossies and repaint or dullcote will you?
FUBAR

I have two quick questions for the Lt. and Fubar

Fubar who is the cat (profile pick)?

Lt. will be able to ever see the final defeat of the zulus (sorry not a zulu fanatic cant remember what battle it is)?

Hope to see you all at OSTN

Vick:D

Vick,
I'ts the battle of Ulundi in which the Lt's 17th Lancers are unleashed with the IMI, Colonials and a small band of Kings Dragoon Guards to run down the Zulus and burn the King's homestead. Fubar's cat is beyond all recognition. Mike

Thats it, Cat Hide Zulu shields!
That one was "Cookie duster" but he's no longer with us. Yote's got him I'm afeared.I havent had the heart to change the avatar. Pair of identical looking evil twins took his place.Felix and Sylvester.
See you guys at the show and keep your eyeballs peeled for Conte /Rocco zulu sets for me!
FUB
