Having already featured the work of Artist Simon Smith on the Britian section of the forum I thought it's be appropriate to also feature his work here where I'm sure you'll agree it also belongs. I hope you enjoy his painting as much as I have. By the way can you tell me who the defenders are who appear in the painting.....The Lt.

Lt,

My list is the same as Martyn's.

Standing (left to right): Private Robert Jones, Private Alfred Henry Hook and Private William Jones.

Private John Williams aiding Sergeant Robert Maxfield.

Best, Raymond.

I've no solid answer to the question I posed but go along with the Hookie and Maxfield answers,

Another member of the 1st/24th meets his end from a bullet fired from a Martini-Henry taken from a fallen member of his company as he sort the men in the red tunics escaping from the encampment at Isandlwana.......The Lt.

Private John Walter clutches his shoulder having been shot as Commissary Dunne fired a shot that killed the zulu who inflicted Walter's wound.....The Lt.

The Edendale Squadron of the Natal Native Mounted Contingent, Christian converts from the area of the Edendale Mission, stop to let off a volley after discovering the Zulu left horn in the distance. Col. Durnford had taken these men out with him under a perceived attempt to rescue General Lord Chelmsford's column. Durnford believed that the Zulus were retiring away from the camp at Isandlwana and heading toward Chelmsford. He was mistaken, the left horn was merely moving to surround the camp. It would be Durnford who would need rescuing.

Very nice set and diorama Mike:)

Nice 1879 the poses are similar to Trophy's mounted infantry and nicely done.....The Lt.

Fellow Men of Harlech,
Thanks for the praise, but the Imperial Natal Native Horse (2 sets minus one trooper who has gone on extended AWOL ) take the praise with the clean, classic lines.

Jake- The base is JG Miniatures whom I highly recommend and would buy stock in the company if it traded publicly!

I'm slowly starting to take some of my sets out of the Ikea cabinets to play with: as they've been overlooked for too long!

Hi Mike

Would that be JG Miniatures set S22a Green grass slope ?

Cheers

Martyn:)

Martyn,
I don't know about the set#... Ihave the two cliff sections, three slopes that go with them and two river sections and one desert flat(like yours). JG is fairly expensive, but if you need a quick terrain that is modular, it is the way to go.
