"The Zulu War" (3 Viewers)

Lt. I'm sure glad you built this Rorke's Drift setup. I had no idea what a collection you had. Keep on battleing Mike.

Mike the fighting continues as the Lt. gets into the thick of things...The Lt.

It's time for a song!

Men of Harlech stop your dreaming,
Can't you see their spear points gleaming?
See their warrior pennants streaming
To this battlefield.

Sing men! Sing!

Oh Easy one, didn't know you sang with a Welsh accent in Birmingham.Still i was off the day they did Geography at school.

Rob

The great thing about these pictures is that they give an idea of the sheer number of Zulus involved in comparison to teh 100 odd defenders. They also prove that you can mix and match manufacturers without too much of a problem

Good stuff

The Zulus are relentless and have force the defenders to fall back to safer ground as they continue to deliver deadly fire....The Lt.

Thanks Simon, no but was provided with additional funding for support troops. It's now a matter of locating the right figures to support my standing 24th....Joe (aka) The Lt.

Lt., now I know were the term over my dead body came from. I think the Zulu are ready to attack from behind the Hospital. Check the roof for the sneaky buggers. Gary Dutko has some nice Zulu converts helping each other over walls. I'm sure you must have seen them. Battle On Lt. Mike.

Thanks Tim for the info and posting the photos. I'm familiar with Gary's work he was good enough to send me a CD which I then passed on to Mike (aka) modwalls. I also agree he does some great work and by the way your no so bad yourself. Hope you've rested your eyes looking forward to seeing the GI's painted along with more NAPS. I still haven't master posting more than one photo at a time using photobucket I'm still bouncing back and forth but one of these days I'll get there. Hopefully we'll get a chance to get together again later this month at the Dedham Show. Here's a photobucket photo as the the battle goes on. and Trophy is back in action........Joe

Nice stuff joe! I didn,t know that you had seen these before, I thougt you,d like those zulus climbing the backs of the buildings there my favorite of his zulu conversions.
The G.I. painting is on the back burner for now I,ve got to many projects going on right now and not enough time to get around to all the different half finnish projects i,ve got started all over the place. I,ve got a whole bunch of fubars half painted russains I want to finnish before I paint those G.I.s and some half finnished foam projects and a ton of other half finnished things also. If I could only commit to finnishing one project before starting another i,d be all set.:p
I,ll be going to the dedham show also and hope to meet up with you and any other forum members that show up.

Joe the best way to add more then one photo at a time with photo bucket is to open a new window and just switch back and forth between the 2 sites as you add each new photo.
A new window can be opened by going up to the file icon in the top left hand corner of your screen then click on it and look for new window and then type in the site you want to add your photos to and just switch between the 2 as you add your photos. Its only tricky the first time you do it then its a piece of cake, give it a try.
You can use the minimize/maximize to switch or just click back and forth from the blue website boxes at the bottom of your screen on the left hand side just to the right of where it says start.

Once again Tim thanks for your input and I'll give it a try. Seems like I'm in the same boat when it comes to getting things done. Looking forward to getting together at the show.......Joe

Britain now enters the conflict as Assistant Commissary Dalton along with Private Hitch are joined as they bring ammo to their comrades manning the barricade...........The Lt.

Thanks Tim for posting Gary Dutkos pics. I figured the Lt. had seen them already. It is good that other people get to see his work. I will also be attending the show, I will be bopping around trying not to spend, but I know I will. I'll probably be looking for Barzo's indians or WWII Conte. I'll ask George of Minuteman to point you out. Lt, the battle scenes are great as ever, I will try to get up to Kittery some time in April. Like Tim, I have multiple projects started and unfinished. Hope to see you at the show. Mike.

I was not sure how these photos would come out for they were taken in the dark without any lighting using my HP R707 Camera. The fighting continued long into the night and I wanted to see if I could capture a few photos with the effect. The first two photos are showing the Zulus entering the well built kraal forcing the Brit's to fall back. The second is showing Private Hitch whose just been shot as Lt. Bromhead fires killing the Zulu and the final photo is of Private Beckett of the 1st/24th being stab in the back while escaping from the Hospital as the Zulu continued on leaving him for dead.
He later died of the wound on the 23rd from loss of blood. The photos are based on the events that occured during the evening of the 22nd....The Lt

Mike look forward to seeing you on the 25th....Joe
