A fantastic photo Joe !!! What a great way to celebrate the victory that took place 131 years ago. Perhaps I may take a few photos tonight when I get home. I am due for some playtime. :)

THE LAST OF THE 24th at ISANDHLWANA

High up on Isandhlwana a survivor of Younghusband’s company finds cover in a cave at the base of the cliff , it is here that he kept the Zulu at bay until he ran out of ammunition.

ZULU Rampage Sat Nite.
240 total Zulu vs 100 24th defenders.Zulus Attacked all along the perimeter of the compound. Many break through's, all quickly eliminated.
Zulu #'s doubled, Impi's reformed and another wave of 240 attacked.Same as before, many breakthrough,Small groups of British 1-6 men, overran, surrounded and lost. British gave up much of the perimeter and fell back to their interior lines.
Zulu's broke themselves against the redoubt. Many remained but all in small groups. No unit cohesion , exhausted.Left the attack.
3 British survivors from the barracks and another 40 defenders remained in the redoubt.

We used some Natal Carabiniers as scouts.THEY SURVIVED the battle OUTSIDE the compound!
We had 4 players commanding x 4 60 figure units of Zulu and 2 British players defending the Drift with their 100 troops. Both Character figures of Chard and Bromhead Survived, Chard had a VERY near run thing and should have been a gonner. But we allow saving throws for Characters.A rolled 6 saves. He did it.
Also one soldier held off at least a dozen Zulu at the Barrack door.He single handed Killed wounded or forced back, routed them all.He should have gotten the VC.

We decided next year it will have to be Islandawana .

Should would loved to have join you Harold thanks for the update of your yearly event. Sure was fun picking out the various figures both plastic and metal defending Conte's Rorke's Drift and how nicely the figures from all sources blended in. Thank FUB for sharing it all and looking forward to next year at Isandlwana at which time addtional new sets and figures will be taking part.......The Lt.

Yes , It was fun getting the gang together for some dice rolling ,Some liquid Apple pie{ really catches up with you fast, be careful!}, foul caveman talk at the mancave and a pretty good bunch of toys to PLAY with.LT , your presence would have been a memorable pleasure.
Need to convert some figs for Artillerymen, Maybe some more cavalry before the Massacre next year.Perhaps Britain's will fill the gap.

Thanks, On to , something else.
