I would suggest you look up Colberts show cost. It is out there he didn’t deny it. Like I said it makes for a better story in print if Trump is blamed but whether Trump is was or would have been was not saving that show. At the end of the day the accountants will always win. Just look at the annual graveyard of cancelled shows. As to the lawsuit settlement same thing. It is a numbers game. It would have been long litigation because the case had merit. That is not saying he was going to win but a Judge said it had merit. On side note if I recall that particular judge was an Obama appointee.as Trump hates to be ridiculed...Kimmel...Stewart and Meyers are definitely his next targets...forget freedom of speech...but truthfully...he's such an "easy target"...apparently it keeps him up all night posting on social media...
and much cheaper for CBS to drop Colbert...than paying off more 16 million dollar bribes like CBS paid to Trump so he won't block future mergers...probably on the phone with Brandon Carr 3 times a day...there's always Fox...
End of the day all of these situations are business decision regardless of the spin in the press. The press are there to make money not report facts. They live and die by ratings. You mention the networks. They are all the same some just are better at it. Talk about Fox, they may not say what you want to hear, but they play the game the best. Ratings bring ad dollars which is where all the money is. They have modest production costs, most expense is there hosts. Again, they are tv stars not journalists and they are compensated accordingly. Hannity has to bring in multiple times his 8 figure contract or he would be cancelled. End of the day he is the equivalent of an actor laughing all the way to the bank.
