Things that annoy me (3 Viewers)

Sorry third go - I always look at the Chicago Show every year and this year i have the budget, sort of, to go, but not sure. The info they want and the hoops you have to jump through, put together with people doing it all and some have been turned down after landing in the US and put on a plane straight back, the few i have read about or seen on the news it has been a case of an error by the US Customs and it should not have happened or a minor error. One such error was a guy could not give details of where he was staying while there six weeks, he proved he had the money to pay, but no addresses, he was going to hire a car, which he had doccuments for, and just drive, as he wanted to see 'middle America' or as he said 'small town, real America'. But they said no.

Now they want you to supply multiple year social media posts [i have looked at the visa application]. I think the draw of the show will pull me and my $$$$$ and i will go.

One good thing about the visa application, well i could not see it, but there used to question on the visa form with a yes/no tick box that asked "Are you coming to the USA to commit an act of terrorist" and you had to tick yes or no.

If i do come i will have questions, as will visit Chicago itself and need to know a few things, such as some good new and second hand book shops, i like historical non fiction and fiction and military/spy/thriller fiction and hope to be able to bring back enough books on Vietnam, cowboy/Indian novels [for want of a better phrase] and thrillers that i will hardly be able to lift the bag. For those that live in New York or know the shop, i am thinking about stores like The Strand Bookshop in NY, but probably on a smaller scale. My last visit to NY i bought back 84 books, managed to get 4 Dewey Lambdin Napoleonic Naval fiction books which you could not get in the UK at that time.
